Green Party leader Peter Sinkamba has welcomed the decision by government to give approval for the cultivation, processing and exporting of cannabis for economic and medicinal purpose.
Mr. Sinkamba says the move see a turnaround in economic activities.
He said the decision is good for the country because Zambia will NOT only depend on Copper exports but cannabis as well.
Mr. Sinkamba has told ZNBC News in an interview in Kitwe that government must provide clear guidelines on how the whole process will be done so that people can have a clear understanding.
Cabinet at its special sitting held on December 4th, 2019, gave approval, in principal to the ministerial technical Committee for the cultivation, processing and exporting of cannabis for economic and medicinal purpose.
That is the worst decision you can ever make as a Christian nation. The negative effects outweighs the benefits. In addition, It is mostly foreign nationals who will manage those high licence fees and will end up externalising the proceeds. The idea must be dropped forthwith.
mudala forget about it, it is already done.
It is a good idea.
The only problem is that only the usual corrupt suspects in government will benefit. They will use proxy companies to cultivate and export the herb, as they are doing with mukula.
People hv been growing, selling smoking the herb IN SPITE of laws banning these activities. Now that the govt intends to allow medicinal production of the plant, supply is going to increase. I hope to see an orderly market that is predictable, fair and transparent. But that looks like hoping against hope. This is Zambia after all.
” Mr. Sinkamba says the move will see a turnaround in economic activities. ”
True…according to a reporter on BBC Africa news,Zambia will rake in atleast $ 36 billion per year. This will be the biggest forex source from a non traditional export. The emphasis here is to make sure the Dollar earnings from the legalisation of marijuana is controlled or dominated by Zambians and Kwacha will always be on demand thus little or no depreciation. One of the reasons for the depreciation of Kwacha is the external is one( as opposed to retaining) of profits from our traditional exports.
It should read: externalising ( as opposed to retaining) of profits from our traditional exports.
Don’t just welcome things before you know the detailed pf framework. This is another case of makula. Wake up
Congratulations Mr Sinkamba for your effort which as born fruit. Perseverance works.
This goverment is trying to generate income overnight so its looking for ways.
So this looks like something which will
give them cash flow as IMF all doors are
closed. They have overspent and over borrowed. This is like going from frying pan into fire.
IMF doors are closed for a very good reason.
If someone that lends money via kaloba refuses to lend you money, just know that you are rotten with no credibility.
Govt should not ignore Green Party presifent Peter Sinkamba in this venture.Let him be one of the pipo in the forefront to make this thing a success.
WELL THOUGHT MOVE
From ‘Komesho famazi to simo sikeo famazi’Anyway well done bwana Sinkamba for your manifesto.Ulubangula lwandalama lelo tekupepa iyooo.
Cultivation of “Ichamba” in Zambia is even long overdue, but it should not be used for smocking. Thats why cultivation should be controlled by DEC, to avoid “ubunangwa muchalo”. eg: Some people are busy making money on the use of internet while others are busy abusing it. Let’s give a credit to Mr.Sinkamba for coming out strongly on the issue of marijuana cultivation.
government must not be shy to tell the nation that they need the advise from mr peter sinkamba on how to get the mixmum benefits which mr sinkamba was always talking about this is not the ideas of pf but that mr sinkamba.
Basically, l don’t know why Sinkamba should be praised because the man is a politician and he did what he needed to do as a politician and as a Zambian period. No some are busy destroying their own country. What government has done is to decode sense from a mirade of nonsense.
