Government says it embraces every citizen in the country who wishes to join and support the ruling MMD party.
Chief Government Spokesperson Ronnie Shikapwasha stated that the MMD is a party for the people and is always ready to welcome everyone regardless of their status.
Lt. General Shikapwasha told the media in Lusaka this evening, that the announcement of United Party for National Development (UPND) members in Chifubu constituency to vote for MMD candidate Frank Ngambi in the forth coming parliamentary by elections is appropriate hence the MMD embracing the move.
He expressed gratitude to all UPND members who have pledged to vote for Mr. Ngambi in the Chifubu Parliamentary by elections.
Lt. General Shikapwasha, who is also Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, noted that people were now rejoining the ruling party because they have now realized that they were misled by the opposition parties.
He was also hopeful that similar actions where people are rejoining and supporting the ruling party would take place in Luena constituency of Western Province in the run up to the August 5, 2010 bye -elections .
The media today reported that UPND members in Chifubu constituency have pledged to vote for the MMD candidate Frank Ng’ambi in the August 5 Chifubu Constituency parliamentary by-elections.
This decision comes at a time when Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata launched a scathing attack against UPND counterpart Hakainde Hichilema thereby putting the future of the pact in serious doubt.

UPND should learn to stick to one political partner at a time. Going to bed with “anything that pays” is called prostitution and a total lack of any moral and social responsibility. Its disgusting behavior.
HH is a political prostitute. How many shall he shagg before the end of his era? Probably this is his last. MMD is not an alternative with or without the PACT. So let them rejoice for now coz their time is short. HH pleads with his members, what a sign of maturity. We salute you youngman. We say once again that you will try to smear mud on HH and his supporters but it will not stick. UPND has done nothing wrong in all this but Mmembe and his friends are busy demonising it. Sata and his bunch of hooligans should know that they will not use us the mighty UPND people, we have brains and going to plot one is not a matter of life and death for us. Take it or leave, Sata stands to loose more should the PACT fail.

Very sad that Dictatorship has swallowed Zambia.If the Pact will fail,then who will resurrect this Country?. HH is a weaker point in the pact,thats why the MMD are targeting him always by inticing him to join them.They know,they can destroy SATA/.Those promises they are offering HH to be Presidential Candidate in 2016 are false and HH will definately cry foul.

I think i will stop caring for this my beloved cuntry! Let me go get my CCIE (more than your doctorate degrees for people like MMD Chief Bootlicker!) and perhaps I will go to Zedee and makes some changes for myself. Young poeple are being deceived by these old ballies… I think it is about time we stopped respecting elders because they are just old people with the their usual ability to cling onto power.
