PF cadres

Police in Ndola have arrested 10 Patriotic Front (PF) supporters for allegedly having blocked Vice-President George Kunda’s motorcade on Monday.

Copperbelt police commanding officer, Antonneil Mutentwa said 13 others who are suspected to have been part of the cadres that blocked Mr Kunda’s motorcade will be arrested soon.

Mr Mutentwa said those arrested will appear in court soon, adding that most of them are taxi drivers alleged to have been hired by the PF.

“The total number of the people that were involved in the fracas is 23, but we have so far arrested 10,” he said.

Mr Mutentwa warned that police will arrest people who perpetrate violence.

He said police held three meetings with all the political parties participating in the Chifubu constituency by-elections on the need to maintain peace and tranquility during the campaign period.

And the Leadership In Development has described the tearing of the Mung’omba draft constitution by PF vice national chairman Simon Mukupa as being anarchist.

Leadership in Development executive director, Moses Kalonde said the PF has no respect for the law.
“That is an act of anarchy which should be condemned in the strongest terms,” he said.

Mr Kalonde said people should judge for themselves the kind of opposition leaders who want to aspire to the highest office of the land.

He said the public should start scrutinising the kind of leadership they want to lead them after 2011.

“This is the time to ensure that politicians are scrutinised in both the ruling party and opposition political parties,” he said.

Mr Kalonde called on the people in Chifubu to elect a candidate that will bring about development in the constituency.

  1. There we go again, MMD busy is abusing our police. They have arrested innocent people leaving Lucy for bouncing a K10M cheque! They have acquitted Chiluba, they cant arrest armed criminals like Dr. Solomon. What did these 10 people do? did they order Kunda to leave the raod? Kunda left the road on his own becouse he knows that Sata derseved the way! As a sernior citizen and biggest opposition leader who has saved Zambian for a long time with dignity and honor, he paved way for him. Now today this criminal MMD arrests innocent people. Please God help Zambia

  2. Ba Buju this is what we call Bootlicking. you facked up already deal with it. And dont worry about us we are happy for facking up GK’s day!!!!!:d

  3. Ku.pu.sa. bati. So you want to impress your Boss RB? Whay not arrest the Veep forcontravening since he wanted to use double lanes against our traffic rules and fine him K270,000. Even when you arrest them you will still loose in Chifubu.

  4. Risky as the gamble was against Sata’s own life, this PF thuggery should be an eye opener to infantile Ichilema who has curved in to be Sata’s vice President. What can he expect from rascals such as Sata, Nsanda, Kambwili, Mukuka, Bwalya, Mwewa, Mpundu, Kabanda, Kapata and Ms.Mumbi? If ever Zambians lost their mind and treasnously betrayed their country to thugs, the same PF would hoound out opportunistic Ichilema out the pact and Government. If anything they would Chawamalize and run over him within 90 days.Forewarning is fore-arming.This who thing proves that PF thuggery has no regard for institutional office even where their thuggery leaves Sata in clear and present danger.

  5. Truth suppressed temporarily is stronger than evil triumphant. These people though they have been arrested are stronger that MMD evils for showing that they can block the Veep. Even if you are charged or imprisoned, but you have sent the massage which has been received by the people and cannot be removed. Nelson Mandela was also charged and imprisoned but later imaged victorious. Don’t worry guys.

  6. Senior Citizen, sometimes you need people of action and patriotic for their country to clean up all the mess caused by MMD. The list is endless, but now MMD think it is acceptable for the Chinese to slap Zambians. The Indians (KCM) are forever employing the Indians from Indian and ignoring the locals with the same qualification. The list is endless because MMD is corrupt and does not care about the masses. Lets have other people lead this country please…. MMD have failed and also stolen alot of government resources.

  7. What do you expect from a Party that is led by a violent and criminally insane Bemba tribalist. Ignore Sata and his tribesmate. They should be kept away from the reigns of power otherwise it will be the end of Zambia as we know it. Chiluba was enough. Never Never again!

  8. Arrest Dr Musonda next and give him an appropriate charge you cowards. Mutentwa you are learned, but cummon you can do better than that. U want to use conduct likely to cause breach of peace- but show us the breach. If u manage to show us then go ahead and arrest your MMD brothers in luena who disturbed Hichilema’s entourage. No double standards here. And by the way why is Lucy Change free up to now? And if u are sure GK didnt use his lane also caution and probably fine him. Also advise GK to be leaving such places long before the president arrives!

  9. “And the Leadership In Development has described the tearing of the Mung’omba draft constitution by PF vice national chairman Simon Mukupa as being anarchist”- DURING THE INDEPENDENCE STRUGGLE UNIP USED TO TEAR ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE FEDRAL GOVERNMENT AND SO DID MMD WHEN FIGHTING UNIP. SO WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE REJECTING A SUPPRESSIVE DOCUMENT TO DAY?

  10. Aah the Police where on TV yesterday ZNBC saying the problems was started by both MMD and PF in Ndola. Now only PF cadres arrested and those MMD thugs in Ndola & Luena are walking free like Dr. Musonda. Muntentwa Antonneil the C/Belt Police chief is trying to save face and please his boss Kabonde and RB because heads have started rolling in Ndola,, the VP nearly ended up in ditch. ha ha ha

  11. “Leadership in Development executive director, Moses Kalonde said the PF has no respect for the law. “That is an act of anarchy which should be condemned in the strongest terms,” he said.”

Zambia is not a lawless society were you can disregard those entrusted with protecting and enforcing the law with impunity. When a police officer orders you to stop, you are supposed to stop more especially pending to traffic issues as the officer has a reason as to why they have stopped you. In this case, the PF deliberately ignored a police officer. If PF thrives on thuggery, they must know that such is not for Zambia which is a country of laws. This is why the PF is going for their 4th rejection by ballot.

  12. Hehe..this is madness at its best? Why should you arrest innocent people, 10 out of 5000 ? Hehe sure this is the end of MMD. People you never caught in the act blocking the sickly Kunda.
Kunda had his lane but coz he was meeting H:E president Micheal Sata, he had to pave way for him.
Hehe..MMD is really finished. MMD is a skeleton now.
If at all you were to arrest people, I think Sata should be the one to be arrested coz he was the one people following. But how can you arrest H:E the president M:C Sata?

Police just drop this useless case, its taking you no where. Hehehe.

  13. #6, your views are the cheapest from all people who have blogged on this topic. They lack reason, objectivity, sincerity and common sense. I wonder if you can say these things using your own name? You would be proud to do so. As for the people of Chifubu, you are reminded to how the MMD hates you. Your brothers and sisters have been arrested for nothing! There are trying by all means to indimidate you so that you cab vote in fear. But show them on voting day that no amount of indimidation and harrasement will separate you from the love of your party PF.

  14. #9 your argument lacks objectivity, focus and substance. you are showing that you are a true tribalist and wants to smear PF with the same. I think we should rise rise above that narrow view you hold and be more issue based. Chiluba is a thief and that is the same character which has made him to be the friend and MMD campaign manager. FTJ and Sata have differed in principle and why should you combine them on this forum. As you blog, you should be mindful that there are bembas, lozis, chokwes, tongas, e.t.c on this forum and they should be respected as such. Even the visionless RB should not be criticised based on his tribe and foolishly generalise the easterners, no! He is just RB who is unwise. Comeon spinach! we expect better arguments from some enlighted blogger like you. Shame! Shame!

  15. FDD president Edith Nawakwi yesterday charged that President Banda’s government is bent on getting commissions from national deals.

Commenting on President Banda’s defiance against public opinion on the procurement of mobile hospitals, Nawakwi wondered why President Banda had insisted on acquiring a facility which would not work.

  16. Is it illegal to bloke the vice president’s motorcade? Who was at fault, was it the traffic police or the pf carders?

  17. In the Times of Zambia, one of the headlines read:
    Warm Chifubu reception greets RB
    By Times Reporter
BUSINESS in Chifubu Township in Ndola yesterday afternoon came to a standstill as thousands of residents and traders mobbed President Rupiah Banda, the party’s area parliamentary by-election candidate Frank Ng’ambi and the entourage as they toured four markets.
I SHALL WAIT FOR TOMORROW NIGHT AND SEE IF THOSE THOUSANDS OF RESIDENTS AND TRADERS SHALL AMOUNT TO LANDSLIDE FOR MMD OR THOSE CHAPS WERE BROUGHT IN FROM LUSAKA! VIVA LA PF/UPND! WE ARE ONE!

  18. Mulwazi nguyandika musamu….This Police IG will need the public he is persecuting now to save his job and allowances….Not ukubeba….Viva PF in Chifub…Viva UPND in Luena

  19. This is a circus..19:00hours news…William Banda Promises to avenge Kunda’s alleged motorcade blocking….This overrules the presidential prerogative to forgive the suspected cadres…giving respect(umuchinshi) kuli ba Sata is not wrong…umwaiche George did the right thing by moving out of the way
