Zimba/Livingstone road completed

All major works on the Livingstone Zimba road have been completed.

The road has been re-opened following the completion of about 96 per cent of the work by contractor, China Geo.

Road Development Agency -RDA- Head of Public Relations Loice Saili confirmed this in an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka Monday.

Ms Saili explained that only road markings, signs and other minor works are being finalised.

She said the only work remaining are near the weigh bridge where the contractor will double the thickness of the road to avert possible shrinking due to heavy loads.

  1. Great news and congratulations to the MMD govt for finishing the Zimba-Livingstone road and delivering on election promises.

  2. How many kilometers from Zimba to LStone? I cannot believe that it has taken more than 10 years, yes more than 10 years to complete this sector of the road. When I last used the Mazabuka – L/Stone road in June 2001, they were ‘doing’ preparatory works. I guess the Choma – Zimba sector is already damaged. I do not want to ask how much has been spent!

  3. You have to love African election seasons! Maybe we should change the constitution to state elections should be every two years-miracles would happening!
We will take what you will give before elections but we are still voting you out! If you think we are stupid we will see who will have the last laugh

  4. mmmm MMD at work yet another score TO THE SOUTHERNERS, A FEW WEEKS AGO IT WAS NAMWALA ROAD ACCOMPLISHED BIG UP TO MMD, THIS GOVERNMENT INDEED IS WORKING. JUST HOW DO THESE UPND MPS CONVINCE THE ABENA VJ AND RB, YA WE SAY ABA TONGA BALI SHISHITA, BUT AM CONVINCED TODAY THAT ACTUALLY THESE GUYS ARE SMART AND WISE, THEY KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME DESPITE THE PROVINCE BEING 99.9% UPND. I HAVE DRIVEN FROM LSK TO LIVINGSTONE ,ONE THING THAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION IS WHY THIS PROVINCE HAS NO STREET KIDS OR BEGGERS? TU PANDENI KO AMANO!!. BIG UP TO U GUYS

Posako amano, wansekesha cos I was expecting a major contribution going by your name.
Infrastructure is what we need given the productivity of SP.Joe Kalusa was on Qfm yester evening and was lamenting about the lack of cohesion in the Pact and indeed the manifesto so as to explain to the grassroot what they intend to do once elected.MMD is delivering to its faithful voters(rural voters),the Pact are still in disarray and busy bickering and dissing each other.

  6. On “All major works on the Livingstone Zimba road have been completed… road has been re-opened following the completion of about 96 per cent of the work by contractor, China Geo” this is great and I hope the road is of high quality.

    Have a blessed day all.
