Zambia arrived in Mbabane today ahead of Sunday’s 2010 World/Africa
Cup Group 11 qualifier against hosts Swaziland at Somhlolo Stadium.
The team landed in Johannesburg at 10:20 from Lusaka before taking a
4-hour bus ride to Swaziland where they crossed into the mountain
kingdom at Ngwena border post just before 17:00.
Coach Herve Renard later canceled a scheduled late training session
after an immigration delay at the border crossing.
The team is due to have its first workout on Saturday morning at
either the Trade Fair Grounds in Manzini or at Ezulwini sports ground
adjacent to the Casino Resort Royal Sun Lugogo where the team is
lodged.
18 players in all including Captain Christopher Katongo of Danish side
Brondby traveled the team from Lusaka to Swaziland.
Kickoff of Sunday’s game is at 15:00 local time.
The match will be the third meeting between the two teams after
clashes in the inaugural Caf Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) 1st
round two-way ties.
Zambia won the CHAN matches 4-1 on aggregate after drawing 1-1 at
Somhlolo before crushing Swaziland 3-0 at Woodlands Stadium in the
return leg.
Zanaco striker Roger Kola and Emmanuel Mayuka of Kabwe Warriors who
both scored in that match are in the traveling party for this
weekend’s must-win game for Zambia who need to a victory to remain in
the hunt for a second round group stage place.
Zambia are bottom of Group 11 with zero points after losing 1-0 in
their opening pool match away to Togo on May 31 in Accra while the
latter is 2nd after going down 2-1 away to Swaziland on June 8.
Best wishes boys. We need to put some wholes in those shields.
Good luck Zambia, this is our time to make amends, its difficult to beat the Swazis at home(altitude), but it will be great for our confidence.Come on boys 3-1 Zambia.
Go get ’em boys!
Good luck boys.
If it was a few years back, I would be looking at Zambia winning by atleast 4 nil. Sad seeing how Zambia has fallen from being super powers of Southern Africa to minnows on the African continent.
Even worse that no southern or central african country poses a threat to the northern counterparts save for Angola in recent years. I hope the new Zambia coach may succeed at rebuilding the team and instill descipline.
We have a good crop of players and better still the majority are of youth, We need consistency and we need to maintain this team for a long time so the can gel and blend and be a super power. I dont doubt we will beat the Swazi’s and I fancy we will top the group after Sundays clash. Good luck you mighty Chipolopolo and make us all proud of you. Just a suggestion in the future the FAZ needs to round up all Zambian professionals all over the world and have an annual game between all stars(professionals) vs the rest (local players) this will help the coaches pick the strongets team and good combinations and the money raised should go to the Gabon families.
What happened to the tournament that involved shools from africa and we used to have a team called Zambia Schools? Anyone knows?
all the negative *****s must realize that sometimes you must just believe in the boys. We are going to beat the Swazis yet again.
KILLION NO(7) THAT YOU SHOULD ASK YOUR FATHER. YOURSELF DID YOU PLAY IN ZAMBIA SCHOOLS? THINK BEFORE YOU ASK. WHO GAVE YOU THE AUSTRALIAN VISA?
Lets wait for the day,it has alot to tell. Go Zambia Go
Go Zambia go, we are always behind you. We need a win !!!
Is arriving in Swaziland news? Find some news guys.
#7 Killion, well school football is pretty much dead in Zambia. Last time I visited five primary schools in the area I grew up, all their football pitches were given out as Plots for houses and all those places stars like Bizwell Phiri used to shine as Kids are full of houses now. Damn these MMD counselors giving plots at will. You can even check those schools behind Independence stadium, Chingwere and Mambilima, both football pitches gone, replaced by houses built with corrupt cash. These are the pitches that provided fuel to Midlands clubs back in the days.
#12 You must be a foreigner. Yes it is news to some of us Zambians who have never really recovered from that Gabon disaster and everytime our boys travel, it is a relief for me to hear that they have arrived safe.
No 9. u r myopic why cant u kip quite if u dont knw anything? is ur frend wrong 2 ask abt school futball? u r so dull my frend. one can tel u hav a complex. wat abt the visa issue? u r crap….yes skool competition has gone down remember wen colgate used 2 sponsor? not nmore. i hear coca cola is. jst gve me sometime i wil b sports minister n things wil change. go zambia go.
Lets go zambia!!! Its going to be a tough match but we have the arsenal to deal with the swazi. My prediction is two nil to zambia.

Hit them boy. Chipolopolo
Hit them boys. Chipolopolo

Zambia will not only beat Swaziland but by a big margin as well. Swaziland know this very well and if there is anyone whis afraid then it is Swaziland. We will beat them whether they like it or not
we do not expect zambia to lose, coz swaziland is a betable team, home or away.
Go Zambia go….
wishinh the chipolopolo men all the best luck in the whole world. we are behind them. come what may we are going to conqure swaziland.go zambia go!!!!
All the best to chipolopolo, the Swazis know that they will fall and they are just putting on a brave face. It is mathematically impossible for zambia to even think of falling to a team like swaziland. come on anyone can beat togo if they want to, but to beat zambia when they don’t want to be beaten? iyeh chipolopolo. Go zambia go I will be in the stadium tomorrow cheering the loudest and patriotic to my counrty.
How many time are you going to wish them good luck? 100 times? Lets just accept that we are finished and lets not waste time and money on these chaps whom we know they will never bring anything appart from earning allowances which they spend on prostitutes and bear when they come back. So i wish them bad luck so that they don’t get more allowances. I definately know that they will not win.
ba monk just shutup, just continue smoking ka dobo.
#12 You must be a stranger to Zambian Soccer. When the Zambian team travels alot of the fans always wonder if the team really arrived, what happened in April 1993 is still in our minds. The Flying Dutchman #28 we will see you in the Mountain Kingdom tomorrow.
Best wishes to the traveling fans, cheer the boys on well. Go Zambia.
Good luck boys. You know and we know you can do it.Please do us proud. we are all behind you.Dont just beat them enjoy it too and we will join you in the celebrations.
Best Wishes
#12 is actually write. Arriving in Swaziland cannot be news. Its even better to say “all boys are fit for the game”. Bushe ba mbesuma tabalabwela mukulima. tapaba nsoni bweleni fye. twalishiba ati mwalipwa. Zambia 0: Swaziland 3.
Why go by road for 4 hours? Is it luck of money?
#35. Its sad. Maybe its the players themselves who requested to go by road. Limbi balibapela isha ndeke elyo bena balefwaya ukuseva so that they come and shine when they come back. Ala limo mwaliba ubupuba mu zambia.
all the best chipolopolo boyz
wish chipolopolo boyz bad luck. twalimitendwa. when are you going to win a cup. everytime you have to blame someone. ngabanenu bawina shani. just wasting our money. ba mbesuma basuka bapwa nokupwa without winin a cup.
# our players nabatemwisha impiya, women nokuyumfwa. instead of sacrificing bena lyonse kulalwisha fye impiya nokulanwa ifimabwalwa nama prostitutes. that is the problem which is there. Let them just lose and we close the chapter.
Travelling by road for 4hrs, why is that? They will be shattered, these are contributing factors to tiredness and after all the shenanigans at Ndeke hotel (Kutuliza na moba).
I just wonder if the boys would have recovered enough to perform on the day. I won’t be surprised by a Swazi win. It is the team that has prepared adequately that will stand a better chance of winning. Let’s not start claiming results before the match is even played or even the team selected.
Good luck to our boys’.(Chipolopolo), I hope they do us proud. #13&14 Soccer Fan No7 good responeses, we need serious people to blog with not *****s who write witout thinking, thank you #6 Killion for asking a sensible question.
Ivory coast is one goal down to botswana big team r beatable now zambia should be careful
iwe chi monk,i dont even think you even contribute any moneyto the nation coz ,i think you dont work, coz someone who works has brains, look at your friends contributions you can even kno that they work, now you i dont think so or mayb you work in fee paying toilet.shut that mouth, dont show your foolishness here
The lads traveld by road simply bcoz there is 1 flight 2 swazi…saa airlink which leaves at 9am. they lads landed at 9:20am instead of them sleepin in jozi they optd 2 travel by road which i think was a gud idea.

#46 I have started to be afraid too
Botsawana is leading 1-0
Angola ba mutala lika ku ma Cranes
# 49, 50 Its 1-1 Bostwana and Cote D’Ivoire. Hey these so called small teams can cause an upset, am looking at things differently now. uganda is leading 3-0 Angola; Kenya 1-Zimbabwe 0; Namibia is trailing 1-0 to Guinea
#42 and 47. It does not mean that what the majority says is correct. I am just expressing my feeling towards our so called chipolopolo team TOWARDS THEIR PERFORMANCE IN THE PAST. YOU HAVE BEEN WISHING them good luch since 1980 and nothing has come out. When are they going to bring a cup? They always blame the referee or something for not winning. Lets be realistic and look at the past. This time they will say because we went by road thats why we’ve lost. Let them just lose and come back so that we save some money and invest it somewhere. So bane mwilantukana iyoo limo chilachilamo. Naine wine ndalipila tax.
Oohh, its kenya 2-Zimbabwe(mugabe arrogance) 0
Ghana has just scored through Jr agogo against Gabon
I am watching Bots they are pushing I.Coast to the limit 93mins gone. Still 1-1
I will score 4 goals!!
Rwanda is leading Morocco 1-0
Taifa stars have held cameroun to a nil nil. All these results show that there are no longer small teams in Africa. Zambia should play its lungs out.Mr Justice Kafusha, I don’t know. That is why chris Katongo is saying we should pray for the team to win. It calls for divine intervention.
uganga 3-Angola 1; Namibia 1- guinea 2
Any zambians in swazi?
Bye guys, lets all go for prayers tomorrow and include our chipolopolo in our prayers so that they could win. Updaters please prepare your gadgets and update us on the progression of the match tomorrow. My prediction- Swaziland 1- Zambia 3
Zambia 0; Swaziland 3
Harambe Stars of Kenya have beaten Zimbabwe 2-0 at Nyayo National Sports Stadium to go to the top of the group which includes Guinea and Namibia. Kenya scored through Parma striker Donald Mariga in the 12th Minute and Auxerre forward Dennis ‘the menace’ Oliech in the dying minutes of the second half.
Bye folks.
Well done flames
Monk whats your problem? We will always ish our boys good luck. After seeing what they did to Bafanabafana in AFCON qualifier, I know the boys can’t be ruled out. Lets go chipopolopolo, thump the Swazis.
Zimbabweans have lost. Mugabe just might blame the loss on the “imperialists”.
Xenophobia boys silenced by siera leone ful time sierra 1 sa zero. gee watchout 4 sl they outplayd the boys.
Rwanda kept up their 100 percent record in group 8 with a big win over Morocco on Saturday.
3-1 was the final score in Kigali, with Elias Ntaganda getting the opener in the 14th minute.
The lead was doubled after 13 minutes of the second half thanks to Bogota Labama.
Morocco’s Youssef Safri gave the Atlas Lions hope of getting something from the game with a goal 10 minutes from time.
But the Amavubi made sure of all three points when Olivier Karekezi got their third in the final minute of the game.
In the other game in group 8, Ethiopia beat Mauritania 1-0 in Nouakchott on Friday evening.
African champions Egypt suffered a shock set-back in their bid to qualify for the 2010 World and Nations Cups, when they were beaten by Malawi.
Uganda gave themselves a great chance of making the second round of World Cup qualifying with a thrilling win over Angola on Saturday.
Kenya claimed an important win over Zimbabwe on Saturday to give themselves a great chance of making it to the second stage of 2010 qualifying
Earlier Chad secured their first win on the road to the World Cup in South Africa.
They beat Congo-Brazzaville 2-1 in N’Djamena to put their first points on the board in this campaign.
Sudan have secured their first points on the road to Angola and South Africa 2010.
Hosting the group 10 leaders Mali, they posted a 3-2 win to make it three points from two games.
Gambia secured a surprise win over Algeria on Saturday to take themselves to the top of group 6 in African World Cup qualifying.
Botswana stay top of group 7 in 2010 World and Nations Cup qualifying, after a 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast on Saturday.
South Africa face the opposite challenge – they host the 2010 World Cup but must still qualify for the Nations Cup.
That task was made more difficult when they went down 1-0 to Sierra Leone in Freetown – just reward for some strong performances by the Leone Stars.
Now you got let it sink deep into your skull. I am dissapponited with Zambians who are utterly negative about Chipolopolo’s chance as much as I am disturbed by arrogant Zambians who think that it’s “illegal” for Chipolopolo to suffer humiliation at the hands of the so called small teams. Zambia is a good team but they still have to sweat hard for 3 points regardless of the opposition. This is the nature of the “modern” football.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, TODAY IS THE D-DAY.
Today is the day when small men (Mswati) shall be seperated from reall men (LPM).
Does any body know if we can watch the game online ?
no no-one knows
How can we lose to bushmen never? Tulebawina, there King is a womaniser aikalilafye impali isha bula impela kwati ni chiwishi
Zambia 5 Bushmen 0
I hope the chipolopolo boys have learnt from yesterday’s results of not underrating small teams. Swaziland is on cloud nine after that 2-1 win over Togo and have further been encourged by yesterday’s resulst too. It will be a battle of David versus Goliath. I wish Goliath wins.
Tu wa mbwine kwi, naina ati apa pene
tu mwa bwene kwisa teti tuwine zed
#84, #85 NEVER USE THE WORD BUSHMEN. IT IS UNCIVIL AND DEROGATORY. THERE ARE BUSHEMEN IN ZAMBIA,ZIMBABWE, NAMIBIA, BOTSWANA AND SOUTH AFRICA AND AS HUMAN BEINGS THEY NEED RESPECT. THE PIGMIES OF CONGO KINSHASA NEEDS RESPECT TOO. WHEN ZAMBIA PLAY AGAINST CONGO NOBODY SAYS CHIPOLOPOLO VS PIGMIES. BEHAVE YOURSELF.WE CAN EASILY TRACE YOU AND GET TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE. NOBODY CALLS ZAMBIANS DEROGATORY NAMES SUCH AS MAKWEREKWERE OR MAROTSI IN SWAZILAND. DON’T INSULT KING MSWATI, POLYGAMY IS VERY CENTRAL TO THE AFRICAN CULTURE. THE SWAZI SITUATION IS THEREFORE NOT UNIGUE. YOUR GREAT GRANDFATHER HAD MANY WIVES AND CONCUBINES BUT HE WAS NEVER INSULTED FOR THAT.
KASUBA FROM MBABANE!
‘Zambia arrived in Mbabane today’.Lt-could you please write correctly. Its not Zambia but the Zambia National Team or simply the Chipolopolo boys.Zambia can not arrive in Mbabane can it?
We take take on the Swazi’s this coming weekend and we have to go into this game like its the final round of boxing match. We can not afford a draw no way at all. I am pretty sure things will be rectified and that the boys will pull through. I hope the boys have not broken camp as this is a crucial period for the chipolopolo. The should not mingle in public and not read any papers and have no access to media till the game is played as this sometimes works on the minds of the players and affects them. The boys are on duty for the nation and the nation has the duty to support and understand that this is football and the are no more underdogs.
#9 PETER MONDAY, Mate where do I start? The say if you argue with a fool no-one notices who is sane. Tuck your manners in and put your teeth back inn if you have nothing to say mate. Whats with the VISA question? Are you jealous? OK I am not on a visa mate I am an Aussie Citizen but commited my heart to Zambia as its my country of birth and will never let go of my mother land even if Australia socceroos where to play Zambia I would have the loudest cheer for Zambia. Grow up and just talk about soccer not having a go at each other and steering the pot for no reason.
PETER MONDAY WHY NOT PETER SUNDAY YOU TWIT
Why where you attacking #7 Kupusa iwe ngwele tawakwata ama values ******we
Would an April 28 every year game between Zambia and Gabon be a bad Idea where people March on Cairo road to the burial site with donation bins to promote awareness to the new generation of Zambians about our fallen heroes and then have the game that afternoon. Might be a good idea I reckon. After the match host the two national teams to a dinner dance and money raised can go to a trust fund to help the Gabon disaster families as well as maintaining the burial site at Independence stadium. Rest in peace all the late players, Coaching and Medical staff, Faz deligation and the ZAF crew. We shall never forget you. God Bless.
Better still we can have a Gabon disaster memorial tournament and the Zambian Government needs to make that day a public holiday for sure with a minute silence observed. We have to show FIFA that we have struggling families as a result of this sad day and the will chip inn and lend a hand. We need to take the first initiative. We need to heal the souls and we will have luck with our national team the mighty Chipolopolo.
Killion you have great ideas you should be in the sports ministry pitty you are in Australia. Very very good ideas we need more people with your vision in FAZ.
