ZNBC to join demonstration

Zambia National Broadcasting (ZNBC )staff will join Tuesday’s demontration against Patriotic Front (PF) Munali MP Mumbi Phiri if she does not apoligise for her insulting remarks to journalists.

This was disclosed by ZNBC Public Relations Manager Mirriam Tonga in Lusaka Monday.

Mrs Tonga said it is unfortunate that Munali Patriotic Front-MP Mumbi Phiri has so far failed to apologise for referring to Journalists in the public media as dogs.

Mrs Tonga said Mrs Phiri must acknowledge that she erred and the corporations is ready to accept the acknowledgement.

She said ZNBC takes strong exception to the use of unpalatable language irrespective of where it is coming from.

Mrs Tonga said in a statement that ZNBC is hoping that Mrs Phiri will heed to calls for an apology for using bad language and bringing into disrepute the standing of parliament.

However, the PF MP has since apologised to journalists in Zambia for referring to public media reporters as ‘Information minister Lt Gen Ronnie Shikapwasha’s ‘dogs’.

Ms Phiri said she did not call the journalists in question “Dogs” but “Watch Dogs”.

  1. Am not surprised at all. This all just proves that they have accepted their status quo as dogs. The lady has appologised and explained what she meant .What else do they want.Is it coz the truth hurts ?

  2. We’ll also just organise a counter demo against these untrainable Public Media Journalist dogs who never learn to detect the anger and frustration of the public at large over their ineptitude, incompetence and bias in news coverage.

They need to be reminded that its not only MMD members who pay the K3000, but every Zambian, regardless of party affiliation. Therefore every Zanbian has a right to fair coverage, being the pay master of these dogs.

  3. Now you dogs you are provoking us hee. you know very well that you are dogs of RB , Shikapwasha and Nakapwasha (Dora seliya) and you want to predent as if you are not.

We can also organise a counter -dog demostration so that we whip you useless Journalist who have lost even sense of shame. Always its RB, Seliya people who dont even pay the TV licenses.

Change your behaviour otherwise we will continue calling you dogs .

  4. My foot!! did anyone expect them not to join the demo? They would have been fired if they refused

  5. Znbc are the worst dogs that ever walked journalism land. They started practicing doggism on the first day of FTJ in office. They grassed one camerawoman by the name of Dorothy for saying she could not work with a short president. She later joined Oprah. Today we have a doggy Herr called Senior Citizen. Fipoppy.
