The MMD has maintained that only party members with good standing will attend the national convention in 2011.
MMD National Chairman Michael Mabenga says the party will not allow some disgruntled people to bring confusion at the convention.
Mr. Mabenga stated the MMD believes in peace, unity and development as the party was founded on these principles.
He was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today.
“Only party members with good standings will attend the national convention in 2011. People should know that in every organization there are rules and regulations to follow.” Mr. Mabenga said.
Meanwhile, Mr Mabenga has maintained the ruling party will elect its leader at the forth-coming national convention contrary to assertions that the convention won’t take place.
Mr Mabenga said the MMD is a democratic party unlike some opposition political parties that have never held a convention since coming on the political scene.
The MMD National Chairman urged party members to rally behind President Rupiah Banda and to go flat-out in communities sensitizing people on government programmes.

What does Mabenga mean by GOOD STANDING MMD members? MMD has very few good standing members and if this is the criteria, then Rupiah Banda and Mabenga will not attend the convention.
Mabenga disqualifies himself, then he says MMD is peaceful !! he has not heard about the postponed Lusaka MMD provincial conference, can some body brief him!

Zamtel back door sell? Touching other men’s wives in suggestive ways in Mpulungu? William Banda’s Violence? Chalwe’s Rappe threats to Nawakwi? Thandiwe’s Ghost worker Payroll? Muzungu’s killings in Mufumbwe?, Broken bridges in Southern Province? Miners pushing trains?
Please, tell us something else. We are not kids any more.

My mother votes for me. As you know, voting in Zambia takes place when classes are on here in the US. More over, our embassy does not even know where Zambians are despite communicating with them. Their press attache, Ben Kangwa is busy blogging. What do you expect? They know that MMD will be buried totally if they allowed voting by those in foreign countries.
From the day Mr. Mabenga refused to bury his daughter, that is the day I lost respect of him. I can’t even read whatever he is telling you people.

Good standing Members are those who will pledge to vote for RB and no one else………Democratic, or Undemocratic?
Those in Good standing are the likes of Shikachimpuno, ka Mulongoti, Dora, mabenga, VJ etc the RB Praise Singers/choir. MMD convention is a Joke……….
