Faz today confirmed that the Zambia national team will camp in South Africa next month ahead of their 2012 Africa Cup Group C qualifier away to Mozambique on March 27.
“The coach has submitted his final week training programme as we countdown to the end of March, Faz communications officer Erick Mwanza said during the weekly press briefing at Football House in Lusaka.
“The squad should set a training base in South Africa from where all players will join at the team hotel, train and fly into Maputo a day before the game.”
Zambia are third in Group C on 3 points from two games played, one point less than their hosts next month and leaders Libya who are tied on 4 points but are separated on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Faz has said Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka will host the Zambia Under-23’s 2012 Olympic Games preliminary stage, first leg qualifier against Rwanda on March 26.
And under-23 coach Lucky Msiska will be without any senior team foreign-based players eligible for Under-23 duty for the match against Rwanda.
This is after Zambia coach Dario Bonetti disclosed in the press that he will use all Under-23 players based abroad for the match against Mozambique.
Winner over both legs will advance to the mini-league stage of the London Olympic qualifiers.
