Miyanda refutes claims of support for Sata

Share

Heritage Party (HP) President, Brigadier-General Godfrey Miyanda says he can never support Patriotic Front (PF) President, Michael Sata.

General Miyanda has cited many reasons for his position, some of which he says are very sensitive.
He says among them is Mr Sata’s accusations in 2008 that the Heritage party was bribed by the MMD.

General Miyanda has told MUVI TV news in an exclusive interview that he still feels hurt and injured by Mr Sata’s comments.

He has further noted that nothing has been done by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) even after his formal complaint.

But PF chairperson for local government, Given Lubinda has said Mr Sata is not seeking for general Miyanda’s endorsement.

Speaking on behalf of Mr Sata, Mr Lubinda has explained that the PF leader would rather seek the endorsement of the Zambian people.

  1. why do these people always talk about past ? SATA is popular because he always tells people what he want to do in the office ?but miyanda, HH and even the MMD they are just talking about things already gone , this means THAT these people are not ready to bring development OR give jobs to the people? thats why all Zambian wants to vote for him AND WE WILL ALL VOTE FOR FP AND SATA?

  2. Total and utter gutter journalism we talk about when we refer to that toilet tabloid POST. Personally knowing General Miyanda, I just felt deep down that there must have been something wrong after someone alerted me to the story in the POST yesterday.

It turns out that the interview quoted by the POST was done on Tuesday on a morning talk show and SATA and his team alerted the POST and ordered them literally to re-run that story how ever late it was as Main Headline on Thursdays, Two days after the event. That is not normal for the POST newspaper people had come to know.  They even dug up a big  picture of Sata next to Miyanda to show as if Miyanda endorsed Sata.

And today Kabimba want to claim as if they did not desperately crave gen Miyanda’s endorsement
    To Be Continued…

  3. I did not trust that source too from watchdog including the secret alliance between MMD and UPND. Watchdog should be factual sometimes. They also misled our colleagues in UPND that SATA said that he intends to arrest HH once in power. That was a total fabrication which UPND supporters could not see. Well general good luck..

  4. Miyanda simply has no balls (pardon my pun), simply stick to the admiration claim you made, you are chickening out simply becoz that has been extended to support. We all know you don’t support him, SO DON’T GAIN CHEAP POLITICAL MILEAGE IN THE MEDIA, go back to village concept – ukunwa lutuku from morning to sundown!!

  5. The POST toilet paper is just out of touch with reality and going to all lengths to embarrass themselves and I can bet my backside, they will never ever cover Miyanda again.

Sata was the bad part of MMD and he is the one who worked hard to get rid of the good parts in MMD and we were totally happy when he left and MMD now has the good parts left and good things have began to show. MMD is now firing on all cylinders like never before in the history of the party and all this happens after the bad eggs like Sata left. Coincidence? Absolutely not

This Paper POST will have egg on its face and SATA-PF will be over come 2012. New papers will emerge, credible opposition leaders will emerge. You ridiculed us on the  PACT and you can ridicule us now on this prediction . But end game is coming

  6. @MMD CHIEF BOOT-LICKER The post did not report that the general endorsed SATA but merely admired his popularity and how he wished he was one. However about the support, please take your time to read the watchdog. It went further to say according to the highly placed sources. The paper that you hate so much unfortunately it happens to be our major break fast information.

  7. The General has spoken. Now let’s see what the PF supporters will say about a man they were praising for the past two days. Nafuti Nafuti…

  8. The POST toilet paper for the PF and not peace loving Zambians. What they print nowadays is full of lies, I wish someone can sue this dirty paper for misinformation and telling lies to masses

  9. Interesting how PF cadres can switch their minds. When a story surfaced that Miyanda would support Sata the PF Vuvuzelas glorified Miyanda. Next time General Miyanda clarifies his position of non-support for Sata, the same cadres headed by Given Lubinda unleash lethal insults and scorn on Miyanda. A strange style of managing a political Party. The historical truth is that Sata was embended in UNIP & MMD by colonialists to get security data in the same manner journalists were embended in the US & British mtilitary to reporrt on the progress of wars against Sadam Hussain in Iraq. Genetically Sata remains a foreign traitor. Zambians have a choice either to be on the side of the people or be for ever be blended to be on the side of the evil machinations of the colonialists.

  10. Nobody said the Gen had endorsed Sata. The Post reported Gen acknowlegin sata had sold himself well and was popular.

  11. Iam disappointed with the General in his unforgiving spirit. I thought he was a Christian. The Bible says do not let the sun go down before you make peace with your offenders. Anyway this is politics and for this reason I bear with the General. Let the MMD VUVUZELAS REJOICE FOR NOW but Iam sure pf does not need Miyand’s support as Lubinda has put it.

    • You cannot blame a person for not forgiving another person if the forgiveness has not been asked for! Take a leaf from the Almighty God!

  12. # 9 Please tone down LUBINDA has not insulted the General he has simply stated that PF would rather seek the support of people. Are you sure this is lethal and an insult. In my view LETHAL is a very strong word

  13. i wonder why we even speak or may i say spend our valiable time to speak of important issues of national interests with leaf luffs of gen miyandas caliber.i used to love the man so much that i even thought if he could only reason with himself then he would make a good president, but i guess he just dosnt have the guts.i even wonder how he attained the rank of general.advice for him swallow your pride general and you will make zambia a better haven than it is today.REASON bamudala dont be misled.

  14. Its a spiritual curse to support Sata daily blaspheming God and those who vainly support him are cursed with confusion. Anyone who has the fear of God and knows who Jehovah ELOHIM, ADONAI, JEHOVAH–YAHWEH, JEHOVAH-MACCADDESHEM, JEHOVAH-ROHI, JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH, JEHOVAH-RAPHA or JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU can never associate with Sata the devil incarnate born of Satan to derive the name Sata. Michael Sata has been fighting, defaming, blaspheming, and de-christianifying Zambia on behalf of the devil and homosexual demons. There is no way light and darkness can commingle under any circumstance. PF is the unholy alliance of demon spirits no one would draw near to but fellow perverts in covenant with dark spirits of unGodliness.

  15. Had General Miyanda curved in to these Satanists in PF, hecould have been inviting God’s wrath in the spiritual realms.

    • You are an evil man yourself who has nothing good to say about those who oppose you! There is a school of thought that holds that no person is evil, that only acts may be properly considered evil. Psychologist and mediator Marshall Rosenberg claims that the root of violence is the very concept of “evil” or “badness.” When we label someone as bad or evil, Rosenberg claims, it invokes the desire to punish or inflict pain. It also makes it easy for us to turn off our feelings towards the person we are harming. He cites the use of language in Nazi Germany as being a key to how the German people were able to do things to other human beings that they normally would not do. No difference with you! Senior Citizen!

  16. That is the general speaking. Honestly speaking, how could he support someone who hounded him out of MMD, throwing his political career in limbo just because he was opposed to the third term issue which Sata strongly espoused?? No credible person will ever join Pa Fwaka save for failures like Mulongoti, Mpombo, Sondashi, chitala and the like.

  17. This is why people are very confused about the so called PF. 24 hours ago they were praising General Miyanda, The only reason some people support sata is that after 2011 election, they want to take over as president of PF nothing more. Miyanda will support HH in this election. So now, it is not true that western province are supporting sata. How can they support sata..over my dead body…..

  18. But we have a bunch of fools on here making senseless comments everyday. As much as I do not support any political party, I think people should stick to the topic and not accuse others of this and that. Why do most of you chaps on here harbor so much hatred in your hearts? Ba ngwele stop pretending and come back to reality. Calling other people diabolic names as if you yourselves are angels! The fact that we do not know and see what you do in the darkness does not make you holier than the people you are insulting and accusing. I wonder how an old Christian like Miyanda can keep such a grudge for so long. It makes one wonder! Hypocrites!

  19. I m not a PF supporter, but gents, I happenned to be in mongu when Sata came through last week, I have never seen such a crowed before especially outside the line of rail, challenge to all parties…MMD and UPND, please rather than condemn him please organise your rallies too so that we can compare who is the most popular, looks like it is a wind of change bane..Sata is the man of the moment…

  20. Ba Miyanda if you are selfishe you will remain like that in your own island. you are finished you have no grip you are a lost man in politics and lusaka times stop supporting this fools we know you

  21. That is the General Miyanda we know. He is steadfast in his principles and not after power for its own sake. If he was after power for its own sake, he would have teamed up with the questionable characters who formed FDD in 2001 but he did not. Even the PAST toilet paper knew they were hallucinating when they published their malicious story. Anyway, there is no shame anymore at Bwinjimfumu Road. Just forces of darkness wanting to install their devil brother Sata in State House. It will not happen in Zambia. Try Tanzania may be.

  22. I have had the privilege of knowing Ba Sata and Ba Miyanda at a personal level. I can safely say most of you people have judged Miyanda unfairly. His politics may not be effective but the person is not what you think.

  23. Well, I do not know why we like puting our wishful thinking into people’s words. The General never say he supported Mr Sata. He simply said (if he was not misquoted) tha t Mr. Sata had sold himself well. Again some people are accusing the General of keeping a grudge. That is not true, the son of the soil Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe said “Tukeelela lelo tatwakalabe.” The General has not forgotten the false accusation Mr Sata made against him. Do expect him to trust Mr Sata?

  24. #6 There iz nothing wrong (you every democratic right) with praizing or indeed bootlicking the MMD, but your language will spoil the otherwize good person you are suppozd to be.
Honestly, I don’t remember The Post saying the retired Brigadier General Miyanda supported the PF leader Michael Sata.

  25. Mr Miyanda may not even support himself in the next election kanshi. He will end up voting for Sata instead of himself. How can you not support the person that you wish you were. I think the general is a coward. the statement he made that he wished he would be like Sata interprates that is the person of prefered choice because he should have been like you. Not presidential material

  26. Good General I was also perplexed now my conscious is clear. Any piece loving Zambian can never support the snake. Street popularity for vendors who believe in mob following is dangerous. Real Lozis can never support a snake. Mongu is a big town. Those who remained at their homes were more than those who went to admire the drama of the day.
If want to know the snake, ask his rebel MPs in Lusaka then you know what type of president you want to support. Ask his counsellors in Lusaka and copperbelt and find out what they have achieved during their term. Fellow youth be focussed. We should not allow the snake to spoil the trend. The next president after RB is HH. My prophecy

  27. pf cadres are now insulting the general after he clarified he’s not supporting their cobra..hahahah

  28. It would have been the greatest sin for miyanda to support sata. sata represents evil and past. No normal person can entrust their future with sata. Up to now we do not know how many children he has or how many women he has married before because we all know that Dr. kaseba is not the first wife. Pipo, this sata of urs is a conman.Pliz wake up.

  29. The Post – one would think it’s Sata’s personal journal or Photo album. Dont they even feel mawanu as a supposedly impartial Newspaper to blatantly ignore other political players. Its like HH spends his days on a kama couch at his house sipping tea and watching T.B Joshua or something since the Post NEVER reports on him and his campaigns. Really used to like this paper but now with their very transparent endorsement of a chap they used to insult not too long ago makes one question issues of intergrity and all that. yaba.

  30. PF DOES NOT NEED MIYANDA,HE IS  A FAILURE IN POLITICS,WHAT CAN HE BRING TO PF,SATA NEED PEOPLE NOT THOSE SMALL FAMILY PARTIES.

  31. The Gen. can do better by starting a security firm or perhaps running a farm, if he can, than politics.

  32. nyololo, even 2008 it was the same, even more.twalileka nokudabwa ifwe because we know despite the crowds even miyanda will do better.

  33. please, do not compare Sata to General MIYANDA. The problem we have in Zambia is that we want a person who talk what we want to hear and not what he can do. Miyanda is down to earth than your FOOOL satana. Just imagin what Zambia can be under this FOOOOL you call your messier. THANK GOD in advance for not giving us this snake. VIVA RB and thumbs up for HH 2016

  34. Miyanda is one of the people who were in the forefront of declaring Zambia a “Christian State” and today he says he has not forgiven Sata for whatever he said about him. What a Christian? Does Christianity not emphasise forgiveness? This man, like the other Zambian political generals, is amazing.

  35. This country needs serious men and women of candor and vigor to drive this nation forward. Our country needs to break from the shuckles of the past that have held this country captive for such a long period. our country needs leaders with a big heart who can accommodate people from all walks of life irrespective of gender, tribe, colour or indeed ethinicity. Currently there is too much hatred and animosity among the leaders and the nation at large. This hatred has prevented politicians and members of the public from addressing real issues that affect our lives. Politicians are embroiled in personality attacks rather than a focus on the basic issues of economics and development of our poor nation. We have directed our energies on personalities and as such this nation continues to suffer.

  36. General miyanda is very intelligent and hard working but the problem is he doesnt forgive the fear is that if he become a president pipo like kk who tortured him they know what he can do to them

  37. Is is the General Speaking. We all know Gen Miyanda for that quality of thought and insight. How dare you PF think a credible person in so much substance in the name of General Miyanda can sink so low to support a man whose political and personal history is so unimpressive that it surprises us that there are some small pockets of pipo within the Zambian populars with a certain demographic characteristics who think this man can be president. Oh my foot.

  38. PF is like the Lumpenis from UNZA, quick to change positions. Be fare, you would have loved support from this man. It is only normal, by the way he is part of the people you are referring to. When it suits you, you say you have the support of the people and not the individuals. It is the same individuals who make part of the masses you are interested in.

  39. #16 Senior Citizen

I am disappointed that you have chosen to abuse religion to attack PF. I think that you are very hypocritical of scripture and you are just using it to help sing RB praises. I don’t support Sata, but I don’t think that it’s right to throw objectivity and reasonableness in the rubbish bin. Democracy requires respect of the other people who don’t agree with us and we must campaigh on issues not personaility. You cause me to wonder; is it the lack of sufficient gray matter or the curse of the dark skin that causes us behave like the way you are behaving? Why can’t you campaigh for MMD on issues without insulting other leaders? You are hopelessly naive.

  40. In life, no two people or nations agree on everything. We must learn to coexist in diversity. We must learn to teach our kids to respect other people’s rights and opinions even as others also respect theirs. We can’t agree on all things, but we can agree to disagree. I am disappointed that so many of us are such cowards that we want to trade insults here.

  41. i love the General. we do not want bembas yapping every day. like Chiluba said the chaps yap yap without reasoning. go go general and be our messenger. i shall give you my vote this year. UMODZI KUMAWA.

  42. The Post Toilet Paper, this is literally true, because there’s no story in it you would like to preserve on your book shelf, washa washa it and get on with it…. dont forget to flush

  43. Demoncracy!! Well, teh stup!d generals can do better than this; take the country and throw all these tuma politicians, tu HH, ka RB, chi Chiluba, na ka Sata in kafue river; feast for crocdiles, and we can have a new beginning. Ba some of us, what do you think?

  44. People are saying that Miyanda should forgive and forget what Satana did to him but they are not expecting Satana to apologise for his misdeeds such  as the Chawama massacre, and the pushing of Chiluba’s third-term on the Zambian populace. It would is easier to forgive somebody who shows remorse not one who thinks that all of us have the memory of a gold- fish. For those  of you that do have a memory of a gold-fish, just watch Chanda Chimba III’s excellent documentaries on ZNBC to give your memories a very much needed jolt.

  45. praises to insults. the other day u were praising the old man and today you are insulting him. w

  46. Fred “False Prophet” M’membe – when will you stop eating from your own vomit. A week cannot pass without your publications telling lies.

  47. A man’s past is very much a part of his present and future. The character of a man is to be evaluated before he can be given any responsibility and there is no better place to look than the past deeds if you are looking for a man’s character. I say a politician’s character is an election issue

  48. There goes the your YO-YO again. This guy has no credibility, he says something today, tomorrow he is contradicting himself. Is this what you mean by village concept? No wonder all the people left you and can’t trust you.

  49. This is the biggest problem with Miyanda, he is neither capable of forgetting or forgiving. You recall when he for just one week was acting president during the time Chiluba was away from the country, he tried to get even with Kaunda for torturing him (until Godfoolish kuzinyelela mu combat) for allegedly attempted coup plotting. Dr Roger Chongwe was nearly killed during the same attempt on Kaunda’s life. To date Miyanda still denies he gave the orders. He will also swear he never plan coup with Shamwana, Sikatana and Mumba. To me, he is a menace to society in general and should never ever be trusted with power.

  50. The Post’s coverage of the Miyanda’s radio interview this week illustrates how Zambia is at the mercy of Mmembe and the editors at this media outlet. The Post lead story reads more like the spin of a rented public relations specialist seeking to defame a political opponent and redirect the listeners to a preferred message. Problematic reporting by the usual suspects – The Post opted to use this occasion to re-brand Mr Sata, but this will be a hard sale because the “product” is past the due date.
