UPND Mbabala Member of Parliament Emmanuel Hachipuka says he will not re-contest his seat in the forthcoming elections.
Mr. Hachipuka says he has been a parliamentarian for the past 12 years and that it is time he paved way for the younger generation.
The parliamentarian noted that he will continue to contribute to the country’s political system by advocating for improved financial management systems in the public sector.
Mr. Hachipuka hopes to come up with projects that will create a platform for advocating for improved utilization of public resources for the benefit people Zambians.

Thats the way to go. i wish the older generation can learn a lesson from you.
I wish RB and SATA would do the same.
Kill the dinosaurs before they make Zambia extinct
Thts the way Hachipuka….its time for the youth to rule and look after you.
Thank you for your bold decision Ba Hachipuka but don’t sponsor your daughter on MMD tickect. bye bye Sir and welcome Belemu!!!
He is lying naimwe.Hachipuka has fallen out of favour with under5 and is 100% certain he wont be adopted if he intended to stand. He thus came up with the ”paving way for the younger generation” crap.Ask the Tonga party insiders, they will confirm my post.
I have never seen an I.d.i.o.t like you have hates other tribes. your thinking sucks
you are an I.d.i.o.t you hear! you deserve litigation i.d.i.o.t
Yes it is time for a youthful Belemu
HACHIPUKA WELL DONE.UPND HAS NOTHING TO OFFER YOU AFTER THIS COMING ELCTIONS BECAUSE THEY WILL PROBABLY JUST GET 5% OF THE REQUIRED 50%.UPND WILL DEMISE JUST LIKE FDD AND UNIP.HAVE A GOOD REST FROM YOUR RETIREMENT IN ZAMBIAN POLITICS.
I only hope RB, Sata, VJ, Munkombwe, Shikapwasha, Guy Scott and other can follow suit.
#6, Just what the hell is your point? You’re such a cynical SOB to judge others by your gut’less and stinking standards.
Ba VJ Rigger, he could still contest as independent. The main reason is that his health is slowly failing him.By the way you are very insolent and you need prayers by Danny Hule!
Ok, my point is, UPND is not for southerners like you put is.Am an Easterner but I support HH coz of what he says. I think lets be real and grow up, otherwise this tribalism thing will keep us in one position for ever.If UPND is for Tongas, are you saying PF is for Bembas? MMD for easterners? Stop this nonsense!
Mr.Hachipuku congrats and wishing you the best. It demonstrates your leadership qualities, desire to nurture successors and ensure socioeconomic progress of our nation. You are parental badala. God bless you.
All tribes are the same before our constitution, like it or not. Am from Luapula but I have married a southerner. We are all one and only if we agree to that shall we achieve our objectives. Southerners have a good candidate, period!! All of you tribalists, come down to earthe coz we have a common goal here, but if you want to call others names, all of us will be stuck. WAKE UP GUYS!!!!!1
That what real and genuine people behave. The fact that Mr. Hachipuka is a highly learned person , he is able to see that te time is up. He has been successfull in his life. Its only the people without vision and forecast who would want to die while in public office. when you energy is exhausted its better you go and rest otherwise “wina azafa fela pa stage while addresing a rally. watch out God has given a limit to everything.
God Bless Zambia!
SUPER KEN SAID, MAN EAST, MAN WEST, MAN NORTH, MAN SOUTH, WE ARE ALL CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. IT IS BARBARIC FOR PEOPLE TO MAD-SLING OTHERS ON WHAT OTHERS DO NOT BELIEVE IN. TRIBALISM IS BARBARIC. LETS CHECK OUR SELVES BEFORE WE CALL OTHERS TRIBALISTS.
Great men and women always pave way for the yonger generation on their own. They do not wait to be shown the exit door. Well done Emmanuel. Thats the way to go and I only hope many will follow your example.
”Only a Tonga will succeed Anderson Mazoka”.Tonga die hard.
Hachipuka is too close to RB and he has been unpopular in Mbabala constituency. Even if Hachipuka comes from that area he has not been in touch with people. His daughter is more popular than him. However one of the councillors has been people’s darling and if they make a mistake of bringing someone from town to stand on UPND ticket and the councillor decides to go alone UPND will lose. That is the message I found one year ago and it is still varied.Â
That is good and mature
7 Jun 2006 – Lusaka — A Tonga must replace Mazoka, late Anderson Mazoka’s cousin Rex Natala has said. … We don’t mind where they will come from, we just want UPND to be led by a Tonga… UPND presidency is made for a southerner (Tonga), he said.
Whatever your political inclinations are, Hachipuka and Milupi are the best chairpersons of the Public Accounts Committee we have ever had
20 VJ RIGGER Sir you sound like Fred Membe. So you represent the POST here! we understand you now. you can go on ranting as much as you wish
Pa Fwaka cadres, your comments are malicious for obvious reasons, your fossil can never do that even if he was on his death bed.
Tribalism in UPND is deep rooted and nobody can uproot it, this explains why even those very close to Hachipuka the likes of Sichinga could not be accepted back.
No. 20, stop tribalism. Share something sensible. You are the people bringing this country down.
UPND is the only padrt which does not rely on dinosaurs.. We renew ourselves till zambians realise that the would do better with the UPND
Bye bye badala and enjoy your new life after retirement. You can go proudly, having been part of a once vibrant UPND, not what iz obtaining now and what iz to come after 2011 electionz.
Tribalism a strong sense of loyalty towards one s tribe. It only becomes bad when one thinks his/her tribe is superior to other tribes. A statement like a tonga for UPND is not tribal unless it is qualified for example because tongas are this and that then it becomes tribal. Each of the 73 tribes groups we have can have a party and their tribesmates will support them. Again nothing wrong with this unless one tribe starts asserting superiority over other tribes then the ground will be fertile for war.
Mr Hachipuka, I come from Mbabala Constience and all the years you have been an M.P. for Mbabala you have never visited your Constiunce. We know that you are standing on MMD ticket somewhere in Lusaka of Kafue. Just tell the truth. You are just a town person and you never cared for your people as an MP. Stop telling lies because we all know that you are MMD. No single development in your area where you have been standing as an M.P. FOR YEARS. GO WELL AND BYE.
On “Mr. Hachipuka says he has been a parliamentarian for the past 12 years and that it is time he paved way for the younger generation” well done Mr UPND Tonga man and continue to help us who sympathise with UPND do a good job for Zambia and all Zambians.
You have done this at 64 years old when Mr RB and Mr Sata MC of PF at about 75 years are still pushing to stay on in politics. This means who support the idea that UPND respects the old people and you support the UPND 2011 campaign message and song that all politicians must take a rest so that younger leaders can also contribute to the developing of Zambia when they still have the energy to do so. Enjoy your new capacity in UPND and Zambia.

Matt 6:33
MMD is scooping that seat.
What is inspiring about spending your entire political career in the opposition. Just get your gratuity and continue boning other people’s wives. You sent godfrey chitalu abroad when u were MD at Zambia railways so u could remain boning his wife. Filthy tonga bull.shit
Good way of showing leadership, however i would like to know major things he has done in his constituency for past 12 years he has been a memebr of parliament for that place?
I only hope young politicians learnt something from Hachipuka. I found him quite intelligent especially as chairman of public accounts committee. Caume kwena teti mbepe
Do not paint any UPND MP with a broad brush. Anyone who has seen the quality of Hachipuka as an MP with know that his exit will be a loss to the house. Seriously, he can articulate national issues at a much higher level that any of the MMD, or indeed the PF, MPs.
Well done Hachipuka hopefully you are not standing elsewhere in these 2011 elections
He did ZERO for his constituency all that 12 years. He may be a brilliant person but certainly not MP material for his lack of passion to uplift welfare of his rural people. He is a city man with eyes always on some top executive job.
its only the UPND with such principled MPs and leaders..well done Hon.Emmanuel Hachipuka..we need more pipo of your calibre ..viva 20HH
people like will inspire us the young to join in the race soon and follow his footsteps.
whether you have done something for your constituency or not it is good that you have realised that it over over for you.
good luck sir and enjoy your life. next MP 4 Mwinilunga East in 2021
He is trying to get Mr Sata to see sense in such a move, hope he succeds.
#10.What a hell are you saying don’t you know that every one has the right to express their views. Why are you behaving like MMD. Please give us a break.# 6,please forget about the empty tin trying to discredit your views.
QFM have edited Hachipuka’s statement in parliament. He continued to warn UPND that it won’t get into power as long as they remain a party with memebership from one province.
sata is scared to leave politics,,he doesn’t know what his life would be like when all his credible MPs like Simuusa leave him..oh ok..let the man retire honorably when his colleage the speaker has retired..!
#31 forget of your dream mwana!
Hachipuka has failed to develop his constncy.Dont hide in the name of resting while you will be campaining for RB.not long ago,Madyenkuku resigned from PF and said will presue personal business but today he is already campaining for MMD/RB in southern province.UPND should listern to Hachipuka’s advise that it cant win this years election ONLY if they can embrace others in all provinces pa ZED
So what is wrong if Hachipuka has seen that he has no new ideas and decides to give others a chance?
I have always admired this man. I hope theUPND TAKES HEED OF HIS ADVICE. THE ONLY THING STANDING BETWEEN UPND AND STATE HOUSE IS THE GENERALLY PERCEIVED TRIBALISM.
Hachipuka is one of the many UPND MP’s bought by MMD together with Chizyuka. These guys and many others have promised to deliver southern province to MMD including chiefs Mwanachingwala and Mukuni. They are just paying back RB since alot of monies had changed hands
Why is it that we can marry, eat, party, borrow, sit etc together as different tribes but when it comes to time for elections some people want to manipulate us by calling others tribalists for their own benefit. Time for campaigns and elections is the only one when we call each other names because we lack substance. So guys you can call others tribalists, but that will not deter me from voting for such a person as long as I know he means well and is not recycled the way other have been making money on politics. HH for 2011
Twelve years is a long time. What were his achievements for Mbabala??? It is time to let young people like Munsanje and Belemu contest the seat. Who ever is adopted will with the seat clean Munsanje is educated, country director for an international organization, well travelled world over, humble and dicision maker. He is likely to bring development to Mbabala. Educated an Mapanza- St Marks, UNZA and the UK. In 2009 he worked from London for the same organization. Service is his key ingredient.
UMUTU I AGREE WITH YOU I MET JOSEPH MUNSANJE IN LONDON ONE TIME . HE IS A HUMBLE MAN AND DOWN TO EARTH GENTLEMAN, A VERY EDUCATED YOUNG LAD FROM UNZA AND I MET HIM AT CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY WHEN HE WAS Â DOING MSC. WELL EXPOSED AND LEADING AN INTERNATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE ORGANIZATION IN ZAMBIA , BETWEEN BELEMU AND MUNSANJE, I WILL PUT MY CASH ON MUNSANJE HE IS A BETTER CANDIDATE THAN BELEMU WHO HAS ONLY MUSHROOMED NOW IN MBABALA BUT MUNSANJE HAS BEEN INTOUCH WITGH THE GRASS ROUTE
simply because some of you are easily bought then you think other people are also fast bought by your MMD. UPND guys are not easy to buy as they are the most principled, not like the MISAPAs of Mporokoso who were bought by a K50million only. No wonder some people will remain in politics as outside that there is nothing they can do on their own as they cannot even do business to employ youths.
Zedians, I wonder why suddenly SATA is considered a saviour. It is not long ago when he behaved exactly like Willam Banda, Nsanda, Kamalondo, Nsuluka. No denying that he is action oriented. But I think (Not Know) that presidency goes beyond making a few headlines through bulldozing your way. Well thought out policies and a vision which can be broken into actionable strategies, consistency and humility make good leaders. I do not seem to identify any of these traits in our great leader. One other issue I would like clarified from this fora is this: Are MPs agents of development, (no developments in Mbabala) or are they just law makers).Maybe as lobbyists? I think the councillors are the agents for development but too low a position for serious chaps to contest. Any ideas guys
Only a tonga can head our tribal party
