The ruling Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) has warned that it will not defend any of its cadres found in the illegal allocation of plots.

MMD national secretary Richard Kachingwe says the MMD is a party of laws noting that it would never defend any culprits even if they are party cadres.

Recently, MMD Kanyama aspiring parliamentary candidate Yohane Mwanza stated on Muvi TV’s meet your MP programme, that MMD cadres have the right to allocate land because officers at the ministry of land are not doing their job.

Major Kachingwe says land in the country is under the Republican president and only administered by the commissioner of lands stating that no one has the authority to allocate land.

He said in an interview that party cadres are mere ordinary citizens who also have to follow the rightful procedures in acquiring a land.

  1. No one is above the LAW, cage any thug who wants to allocate land illegally. STOP CORRUPTION at LCC and LANDS MINISTRY in LAND ACQUISITION and PROCESSING of Documents.

  2. at least they have come clean, they have admitted indirectly that they allocate land. its just that the criminal went and announced their dirty deeds in public…MMD…CORRUPT!

  3. That is the way to go. Let each and every Zambia know that we don’t support corrupt practices. We shall continue fighting corruption in every possible way.

  4. Withdrawing their support is not enough, they should stop them from allocating land.the allocation of land is far beyond a cadre’s jurisdiction.

  5. The same MMD stopped PF run council on the Copperbelt from demolishing illegal settlements.Your Kanyama slum aspiring MP candidate says cadres can allocate land since Ministry of Lands is sleepy.MMD what exactly is your position on illegal dirty settlements?

  6. William Banda and his army of MMD thugs have been behind the illegal allocation of land in Lusaka for a long time and his bosses have never intervened. From Kaunda’s time to this day this chap Banda has remained untouchable, why, why?

  7. It shows the calibre of some MMD MPs.. Kuti chalanda shani ati we will grab idle land because someone in ministry of lands is sitting on their job. Zambians lets critically asses some of these MPs they seem very ignorant.

  8. # 9 Distant Drums, don’t worry my brother, for every dog has its day and William Banda and the MMD hoodlums allocating land illegally will pay dearly as PF will conduct a land audit under the ministry of lands. Illegally allocated land will be repossed and people who received money out of such land allocations will be prosecuted for obtaining money by false pretence! VOTE for PF 2011 for clear land distribution.

  9. I support no. 9 and no. 11 – the MMD has allowed its unemployable youths to allocate land while the President and cabinet are held captive by William Banda. I don’t understand this. In Ibex Hill and Lusaka West these MMD thugs have illegally occupied land already on title and belonging to private citizens to themselves. RB promised to address this but has not done anything. RB even formed a Task Force on Land but nothing. What is wrong with RB? Mwanawasa was a performer and he was able to demolish illegal structures with Slyvia Masebo as Minister of Local Government and Housing. I really miss Mwanawasa.

  10. This is the kind of rubbish MMD has subjected the country to, no wonder most towns have started to look like big shanty towns because every  MMD cadre thinks he or she is an expert town planner. Cholera and dysentery is just a bonus.
