The Patriotic Front-PF in Lusaka District has warned its members to stay away from markets and bus stations.
The Patriotic Front has also advised members to stay from usurping functions of the local authority.
District Chairman Ashell Kampengele has threatened that the party will discipline any member found to be allocating land illegally.
Mr. Kampengele says bus stations, markets and the allocation of land is the mandate of local authorities.
Mr. Kampengele was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
He says the party leadership will not take kindly reports of illegal land allocation.
Mr. Kampengele says the PF wants to operate differently from the former ruling party which empowered its cadres to grab land from innocent people and operate bus stations.

way to go. hope you uproot this trend.
that’s my party, am loving this. VIVA PF
PRAY FOR ZAMBIA
Stay away from Markets and bus stops?what do we eat and how do  we travel ? Indoors for how long? Are you guys still beating William fimofimo?Â
Please don’t distort the context og the arhument here. The message is very clear. What the man is saying is that these institutions should be run by local government authorities, not by the party like it happened during the unip and mmd era. Please use your democratic right to express yourself constructively. You can criticize, but please keep it real. Hate will take us nowhere. More Love.
Ok,this is impressive! Prove us wrong by doing things not only differently but better than the MMD did and you’ll win our hearts. This is a good start, keep it up!
@ Michaelme I dont think he meant people staying away. He should be talking about controlling of markets and bus stops by cadres like what we have been subjected to in the recent past. Personally, I think its a positive move and let the councils get back some of their sources of revenue.
Kaponyas will not take this news with a smile. The reason they voted for Sata was so that they ca control markets and bus stationsÂ
PF I salute you, lets get some discipline on the ground, look at the beer hall issue as well, We have laws in place that simply need to be enforced, men and woman in uniform . lets go and do the job.
Minibus Drivers, can we tame them and make them to abide by the rules set for the road traffic.
Again law enforcement , ZP, RTA. we would like to see sanity returning to our congested roads.
#4 When where you last in Zambia? Did you know that MMD made its cadres controls Bus Stations? Very silly rule they had introduced. PF, please do not encourage this nonsense. Let the People work than behaving like MMD Kaponyas.
Good that you warned them not to behave like MMD ho abused allocation of Land. Very stupid behaviors..
Right from the start PF was against cadres running markets and selling land. We all know this. Thats why there must be job creation. Its a move in the right direction if implemented correctly and efficiently without fear or favour. MMD caders have sold a lot of land and are still selling in Lusaka west.
Ba @Mwaba twafweniko. If you don’t like what you see, simply don’t look! The experience Zambians had in the very recent past was that of abuse of public facilities i.e. bus stations and markets by ruling party cadres. Now here is a party official making a public pledge to do what is right in the eyes of the public and the constitution and you choose to trash it all? Please kindly be sincere, especially that you are Zambian.
Wel said Mr Kampengele I feel u man.. thats the way to go
Pls empower the Local authorities to finally start enforcing the by Laws
Great move and a big start to normalising systems in our country. The moment you politicise selling of eggs and jumping on transportation vehicles you are inviting a lot of confusion, bureaucracy and hence corrupt postures. I hope this is the beginning of the reversal of non-existent policies that gave cadres and their minders undue influence even over things outside of their professional prowess.
wait for a working team,
Sense!! How do you expect a council to perform if it has no income generation schemes? I just hope they will also ask tansporters to start working in harmony. I mean there should be a single bus loading to a destination each time; Twanaka ka confusion; 13 million people no organisation of any sort. Shame!!
please spare my land dont grab it i will start biulding next year.
in the spirit of gender equality, the pf choir and dance troupe should be made up of men; women have done it since independence. twashana pafula
It is 100% wrong just to advise members to stay from usurping functions of the local authority. What should be put in place are rules and regulations which should be followed very strictly. Anyone going against these rules and regulations should be dealt with by the courts of law period.
Who is this guy —Kampengele? Where is Kabimba? Didn`t those kaponyas vote for PF so they can control the markets and bus stations as a source of livelihood?
Good start for PF. We need sanity in the markets and bus stations. Excellent PF team as the president promised it is time for law and order. Please PF keep it up do not loss focus
Ok. Good start; I just hope there will be no back-pedalling on this issue following the inevitable defection of MMD cadres to PF, bringing bad habits with them.
Gud start. this is just the second day in office out of 90 and theres this big change
First sucker punch to the kabova.
Terrific, let the law reign, Way to go PF
I AM LOVING IT, PF IS MAKING SO MANY PEOPLE TO PANIC, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO THOUGHT THIS DAY WILL NEVER COME.
Brilliant news for the market vendors. At long last there will be order in the market place. Sanitation should be the next step. One should say the 90 day implements are already starting to work.
Yes, no cadre should carry out functions that a statutory body is mandated to do. PF, that the way to go and please lets appoint professionals as Permanent Secretaries, what we had under MMD was pathetic to say the list. Also reduce on the number of the useless deputy ministers. Also scrap the office of the District Commissioner makes gov’t blotted and impedes the operations of Local Authorities. Thank you
above meant to say the least
Clean up the mess in the capital Mr. Prez. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and help.
MMD really tuned the country into animal farm, everything was just about5 being a carder to access any public service, thumbs up to the new government….that’s why we didn’t tell them……PA BWATOOOOOO
Way to go. Hope this is obeyed. The nonsense of parties usurping local authority powers in running markets and bus stops had to stop.
kick out these lazy bums from the markets and bus stops..atase!
Looks like Zambia was worse than a circus during the MMD rule. What was the work of Councils if Markets, Bus Stops and land allocation were the responsibility of MMD cadres? Was there any accountability? Shame on you MMD. I hope MMD is gone for good!
