Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Inonge Wina

Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Inonge Wina is optimistic that the committee of experts constituted to give Zambia a new constitution will not fail, like the NCC did.

Mrs Wina has called on women to openly participate and contribute to the draft constitution.

And Mrs Wina has expressed disappointed at the number of female parliamentarians retained in parliament in the 2011 tripartite elections.

She says the women in the rural areas aspiring for political positions at various levels fail because they are not empowered with resources.

Mrs Wina was speaking during a prayer breakfast meeting organized by women in business for female parliamentarians and women in influential positions.

Speaking earlier, Non Governmental Organizations Coordinating Council -NGOCC -Board Chairperson Beatrice Grillo said women in parliament need to stand together to support the right thing despite their political affiliation.

She says the NGOCC is willing to assist female parliamentarians with research that will promote the well being of the vulnerable groups in society.

And Evelyn Banda one of the organizers of the prayer breakfast applauded President Michael Sata’s vision to appoint more women into government.

  1. I dont think she knows what she is talking about.
I am sorry to say this, but she is way OVERATED and I dont buy into all this chieftainship. My fiance’s grandfather is a 4th generation to the royal and since I am getting married I wouldnt want to be called princess Mushota Chimfwembe and lead a life Diana led I know I would have paparazi following me, all I do is keep my head down and just keep quiete.

    Thanks

  2. Ba Inonge, optimistic about what?  PF used and abused you to get the Western Province votes. For the tremendous hard effort you put in during the campaigns, you should have earned a better portfolio than minister for chiefs.  Sata just wants you to do the dirty work for him in regards to the B64 Agreement.  So that when you fail to achieve anything, he will say, i gave you a mukwae to resolve your issue and even she has failed. Wake up and smell the coffee!

Come to ADD before its too late…

  3. Mushota i think you are boasting indirectly but on the other hand hv started enjoying you coz u r contravecial whenever you send a comment it attracts other bloggers…come back to Zambia my friend

  4. Mushota is demented, period. She’s not a braggadocio. She is a lunatic. Bushe iwe mwaiche iwe, efyo wingesa mukulemba apa? Even your fiance knows that he has to ditch you at the alter. You have to be jinxed so that you can come back from cloud nine.

  5. it’s actually refreshing to see the subject is not under attack. i am guessing that means most bloggers up here have no thoughts on gender issues :) More power to those who need empowerment men, women and kids but a special hope this works out for my fellow women as much as I love you guys to death there are times when I worry that we will fail to nurture future minds enclosed in female bodies…

  6. Princess Mushota Chimfwembe is such an attention seeker! She posts all sorts of comments just to see how many people will be attracted by them. Unfortunately, it works! Congratulations..

    • Chem Talk, you are very right. When reading these comments I laughed my lungs off because most of them were directed to her. I am like this girl derails bloggers and they don’t just realise, instead of discussing substance they now search their heads to find the worst insult to throw at her. And she is never unfazed. Mushota u are great!!!:x:)>-
