Elias Chipimo, leader of the opposition National Restoration party, has called for a cautious approach towards the fight against corruption.
Mr. Chipimo is appealing to law enforcement agencies and Government to avoid the excitement that has engulfed the discovery of 2.1-billion-Kwacha buried at former Labour minister Austin Liato’s farm.
He has since asked Government to close up any prospective gaps that are prone to abuse by public officers.
Mr.Chipimo further urged government to urgently clarify concerns that the republican president single sourced a firm to renovate state house.

What is Chipimo saying, what caution or the reporter is misinforming us?
Where was Bwezani when his ministers (Liato, Siliya et al) were stealing from Zambians? Did he not swear to uphold the constitution?
Secondly would the same govt institutions uncover similar thefts if done by PF ministers or we would have to wait for next (Chipimo, Milupi) govt to learn of these acts?
I want to believe that Elias is cautioning against blotting the cases through some legal slip-ups. So many cases of this nature have been dismissed on technique grounds. Who knew that Chungu would be making such a big come-back 5 years later? Out of Chiluba and his gang of thieves, only Richard did time, while the rest of them are enjoying the plundered wealth, think of Eric Silwamba, Vincent Malambo etc quietly.

EC, very right. Cleansing should be the while legal profession. Who negotiates and takes bribes to Judges? Its lawyers. Anyhow, calls for CJ to resign are sponsored just to pave way for HEMCS not to renew CJ contract. But why cause unnecessary noise about it??
