Government intelligence reports indicate that people illegally allocating land in Lusaka are MMD cadres. Minister of Local Government, Nkandu Luo has disclosed that the MMD cadres are just masquerading as PF.
She stressed that intelligence reports have concluded that the people involved in the illegal allocations are MMD cadres.
Meanwhile, Professor, Luo also said that Government will not protect any person involved in the misconduct regardless of political affiliation. She was reacting reports linking some PF cadres to illegal land allocations in Lusaka’s Bagdad compound.
The alleged PF party cadres on Saturday beat up residents of plot 70/70 commonly known, as Bagdad compound after the police demolished houses that were illegally build on titled land.
The cadres allegedly beat up residents and broke some houses on the pretext that residents are conniving with law enforcement agencies to grab land that had been illegally allocated to unsuspecting residents.
One of the residents Doris Mulenga, who was severely beaten and subsequently, injured on her right hand, is appealing to government to intervene.

this is not only in baghdad area,,,one must go and see around mushe milling area and you will see how industrial land given to people have been invaded by squaters who are now extorting money form rightfull title deeds holders of millions of kwachas,,please somebody bring sanity and help to title deed holders,,,
Please Nkandu Luo,stop politicising matters by you accusing MMD carders.This kind of behaviour compromises your position to clean this messy because you know deep down your heart that these are carders from PF which is your party in power. Just treat these law breakers as criminal without tagging them with any political party.
What intelligence reports is she referring to? When are these chaps going to stop the blame game and start serving the people? Are they not sure that they are in power? How can the entire cabinet minister sink so low as to fall prey to this cheap politicking? Just do your job madam. Otherwise your statement is as empty as it is useless and unbelievable.

What ever name you call these cadres weather they are PF/MMD they are Zambians willing to take a risk for accommodation, why is it that people are willing to buy the very illegal land,it means the demand is there and the minster of land has immediately address issue viz vie demand for land,lusaka city council equally are to blame as corruption in land aquisition is the order of the day,making it impossible for a local average person to acquire land *************************

Who is she to ascribe political party membership to individuals? If somebody claims to be PF why should she say they are MMD? What is Masebo then, even herself and Chilufya jumped ship from MMD to PF, so why is she not extending the privilege to these people? Seems like even after 5 years pf will still be blaming MMD.

Please Hon Minister let the Police move in also in Ibex Hill where MMD cadres allocated land on title 3 years ago. There is even a court order to demolish the illegal compound, Kalale, in Ibex Hill just 2 km from the new US Embassy. Let the Task Force on Land sort out this mess as soon as possible and restore sanity to Lusaka land issues.

One of HEMCS appointments is showing her true caliber as a leader. We saw it in the MMD govt an now it’s back. Mama Luo. Leadership is not about status. Your flamboyancy and title at Doctor will not reap you the results that are expect of your office. As a scientist be objective in your approach to issues. If these intelligence reports are true. Ensure the culprits are prosecuted. This rhetoric will not win you public support. Do your work. This land is handled by the council. What is LCC doing about bring the folks that break the law? If it is one of your MP’s make her an example about your zero tolerance for corruption. Otherwise you are just paying lip service to this crusade.
