The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) said that the country needed to ensure that the freedom of expression is respected if it is to continue attracting world attention.
FODEP Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi said that the admission of former head of state Rupiah Banda to Club de Madrid, should serve as an example to leaders on the benefits of respecting the will of the people.
Mr. Banda has been admitted to Club de Madrid, a prestigious organization of former heads of states and governments.
Mr. Chipenzi said that the country needed to be proud that one of its own has been admitted to the world’s largest forum of former presidents and prime ministers committed to sharing their experience in government.
Speaking to QFM, Mr. Chipenzi said that the current leadership now has a duty to uphold democratic principles so as to continue attracting kudos from around the world.
He said that leaders always need to realize that they are servants of the people and not masters.
QFM
congrats RB
No comment. It’s actually hard for some of us to comprehend such statements
Is it because of jealous?
bravo bwana RB my president, you have proved to the world (which zambia is included) that you were our best, we will just wait and see if our Ukwa will fulfil his promises now in that so far he has just scored 2%, which is firing the rest and hiring his tribesmen. We are still giving him a chance anyway nimuthu na yemve
Any sane zambian should be proud,of course the haters are incensed by this development.Well done Kamwendo munjila lol
All those who are breathing should also become members. People should not be rewarded for doing the right or normal thing. Those deserving reward do extra-ordinary things beyond the call of duty.
Yamunyokola njala Is that respecting the will of the people?? Involving his sons in government businesses.. If later his called to answer to some cases and found guilty will they revoke his admission to Club de Madrid
Proud to be Illiminati?
What benefit does that bring to Zambia? Let us get one thing straight, Africa has no friend whether Europeans, Americans or Asians. hey are all here to reap us all.
SHOULD ONE BE PROUD OF A PLUNDERER ? IT MAKES ME WONDER WHERE WE ZAMBIANS ARE GOING TO.
Haters please keep your unfounded hate to yourselves! The issues of RB stealing or being corrupt is at the moment just a rumour created by Fred M’membe to protect his own interests. No tangible evidence has been given that RB was corrupt or stole. But his economic management is there for everyone to see. stable exchange rate (ZMK4800.00 = US$1) through out his tenure of office, inflation below 10%, more than $2billion in foregn reserves, GDP at 7%. His democratic credentails are also above board, as he allowed M’membe to freely operate and peddle lies about him without hindrance. more importantly he handed over power peacefully to Ukwa who is now trying to silence any opposing views about his government! So RB deserves respect and the wider world has seen it fit!
club of thieves shame
Klub de Krusty has also admitted Ukwa to its membership. Bart Simpson presented Ukwa with his membership certificate at the organisation’s headquarters in the Swiss village of klown de Ville.
I WONDER HOW ON EARTH ZAMBIANS COULD. BE PROUD OF A KABWALALA. THIS RB HAS LOOTED 11 MILLION POOR ZAMBIANS OUT OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY. WHAT HAS RB LEFT FOR ZAMBIANS TO BE PROUD OF HIM ?ZERO ZERO AND ZERO.
He is a former president and that is a club for former presidents, so he was a de facto member. What is there to be proud of? Nonsense!
To those who oppose RB’s status now, should be disappointed fools and do not know, understand the meaning of the word Democracy. PF Leaders will never achieve that level of status in this world including their children and wives. PF Government is full of uneducated leaders who are Kaponyas. Even those who support them have no Vision, they are lost Zambians and we have forgiven them. They are eating their own children now in absence of meaningful development.
VIVA RB we are behind you, you are a true diplomatic Zambian leader. Dr Mumba and HH work hard to return Zambia’s regional, national and international image.
You can see that some people yabanyokola jelasi especially in the context of the current mess that is Ukwa’s rule where there is no fuel and the price of goods is going up. Well done RB!
RB are u around congrats ni dontikubeba !!!!
RB are around congrats ni dontikubeba !!!!
Well Done RB…
Jelous fools, muza lema kunyoza…:d
I don’t how many Zambians can be proud of RB. I certainly am not and cannot be proud of his legacy. So much corruption and bad governance. Children involved in making decisions affecting Zambians adversely…etc, etc. Chipenzi, what’s the matter with you?
especially the way he handed over power, waving and smiling at a gearing cloud.it takes a man with a stong consience.
In fact we want you to come back and save us from Ukwa who is gallivanting across the world when there is no fuel and electricity, prices going up and kwacha in free fall.
actually contrary to popular belief RB will go down as one of the best presidents. during his presidency he was numerous award a prize for  growing the economy and varies achievements in the economy, he created a national development plan that has no alternative from the current government rebuilt the national reserves etc
Ba FODEP, that advice has fallen on deaf ears. You are talking to people who have congregated around one man who they think knows it all and yet they are taking us backward.
