Robiana Muteka’s family has described his death as a great loss after all the efforts that were put in to save his life.

Michael Mwanamwale, who is Robian’s cousin, said it was sad that Robiana had died because the family was earlier confident that he was going to recover after he underwent a successful operation at University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka

Mwanamwale was speaking at the funeral house in Livingstone’s Dambwa Centraltownship.

Mr Mwanamwale praised the government and all the people who helped in ensuring that Robiana received the necessary treatment.

“God’s plans are not our plans because we were all confident that after the operation he was going to be ok and God has his way of doing things,” he said.

He described Robiana as a very social and outgoing person who was always cheerful with people and like interacting with his friends.

And Robiana’s friend Mate Mukeli described his death as heart breaking because he was a focused person despite having a growth.

“Robiana was instrumental to all of us as his friends because he was focused and it’s really heart breaking to loss a friend,” he said.

24 years old Robiana Muteka a Livingstone resident was evacuated to the University teaching hospital after President Sata ordered for his evacuation for treatment.

He died at UTH intensive care unit on Tuesday night.

  1. Sorry to the family and the people of Zambia. Why does it take a Presidential order to evacuate a patient like Robiana? Doctors are not doing their jobs well. Most diseases can be well managed if attended on time.

  2. The president should learn a lesson NOT to push doctors to perform unnecessarily heroic operations.

Drs, please, i beg you, take your time next time dont be pushed by illiterate people to do work you have learnt to do for years on end.

    • Did your father persistently push your illiterate mother to deliver you prematurely? No vundu, just asking

    • Iwe thikala, the president did everything in his human capacity and we were all hoping for the best.  May the youngman Rest in Peace, but you wanna continue blaming Mikaeli Sata, Bring it own you piss of crap. MCS intervened, hoped and prayed this kid will get better. His wife a medical doctor continued to raise alarm on Robbin’s situation.

You think bapungwa that went against an issue before the courts are bad, the commandos don’t care about tribe and affilliation. Dont start a war you can win, ukulatuka kateka lyonse. He’s human and also the president as ordained by Jehovah God. Lets give him the respect he deserves.

To Robby and his family and as a bemba, MHSRIP. We tried as human beings and I am gonn

  3. What ever you are Mr  No Vundu you are sick, and you deserve no place in our society.
My brother ROBIANA go well, may you rest in the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To the family members and friends my heart mourns and am with you in this moment of sadness. May you be strengthened by our Lord. Remember to mourn believing that one day soon you will be able to see Robiana when our Lord comes back. We will always remember you Robiana.

    • I got chocked a bit because bonse we wanted the kid to survive. Sorry @ levies Matipa, but we gonna leave it into Gods’ capable hands. Chankalipa because this kid should never even have been allowed to endure what he did. I am bemba but this one hurts because everyone was hoping the tumor removal would have saved the kid. MYSRIP. Okey Chabipa Robbiana and ndalumba maningi, for you showed us the wisdom. “Chabipa mwana wesu/”

  4. MISRIP – Knowing Robiana and hearing his story over the last 3 months should be a reminder that life is too short for bitterness. I know he is at rest now.Amen

  5. Everything Sata touches goes to waste. Satan you are a liar. Your supporters are fools. Every single one of them.

  6. I am really saddened by the passing of Robiana. I dont know what came into me, the whole day today, wednesday, 06-13-2012, Robiana was on my mind. Rest well dear brother, your suffering is over.

  7. i hate it when people bring politics into issues like this one. people the president tried to help save this young man’s life, should we blame him for that?

  8. #15 You’re wrong, Ukwa did what he did for Robiana to gain popularity. Why not just improve hospitals, how many people out there need specialist treament? He even boasted about it at Nakatindi’s funeral. The bible says whatever your right hand does the left should not know. Ukwa always exhibits populist actions.

  9. too bad we have lost the man we came to know and love. my only question is, were was the family, friends and neighbors when the tumor was growing? did they just sit and complain, seeing it grow from a small lamp to 2kg…4kg..10kg until it was 14kg without screaming for help? please lets learn to be proactive and prevent some of these sorrows.

  10. @ Novundu wat lesson ar u talking about. u ar the only useless person i have noted. Do u knw wat has killled Robiana? its lung cancer nt wat u ar dreamining in yo useless head. The President did his best i recommend him for that. Sources said that the lung cancer had spread to one of the lungs whole. So its nt about the growth that led him to death bt incureable cancer period.

  11. @ Bricklayer iwe chimasa akumasa fye amaloba wembushi wee which thin has Sata touched mind yo language

  12. You people condemning the president must be grateful. The President did not demand for Robiana to be operated on it was up to the doctors and no wonder they kept him for two weeks before they worked on him, what popularity is the President looking for after all he is a household name and thats why he won the election. I thank the President because at least for last two months Robian of his life he was happy because of the effort of both doctors and the President. When everything seemed to go well with Robian no one talked. MULETASHA, USHITASHA MWANA WA NDOSHI!!!!

  13. i feel bad for robiana…..i feel sad….rest in peace…the presido has a heart…he did good but life its only God who has a final say

  14. Whether the President meant to gain Political mileage out of the sickness of a poor young man or not,an effort was made to alleviate the suffering of the young man except it was just too late. May the good Lord Almighty console the family and cause us as a nation to pick a lesson from the whole episode, above all let this death of Robiana draw us closer to him alone who is author of life.Rest well my brother in Lord RM.

  15. Muyanda#2 As sad as it may be, most of the time in cancer there is little that doctors can do. MHSRIP

  16. May your soul rest in peace son. You fought a hard battle and we are thankful for the time you shared with us on this earth. God be with the Almighty Jehovah God now. To the family, we are with you in prayers. With love from the USA.

  17. Yaweh, Receive the soul of your son.Its NOT how long we live but rather how many lives we impact positively. I believe Robiana achieved his purpose on earth. It now remains for you n me.:(
