Facebook lands Sesheke pupils in trouble

Twenty one (21) pupils from Sesheke high have been suspended and given forced transfers to find schools of their own choice after a group which calls itself as ‘The Sesheke High School Gossips’ used foul language towards their head teacher and some members of staff on face book.

Confirming the development to ZANIS, the head teacher, Lubinda Walubita, said the suspensions have been necessitated by the 21 pupils who, around April this year, decided to open a website on the internet in the name of the school.

Mr Walubita said that the pupils were suspended after their names appeared be on the famous URL (website) known as the face book.

He added that among the so many massages posted on internet was threatening to cut off private parts of a member of staff and sleeping with his wife.

The head teacher lamented that the notorious group also sent extremely derogatory remarks to his deputy through the same social network and called him all sorts of names for no apparent reason.

“These learners have been posting information ranging from inciting others to riot, threatening to burn some teachers’ houses, passing silly comments and insulting teachers on face book,” Said Mr Walubita.

One of the suspended pupils, who could not disclose his name, told ZANIS that it is not everyone from Sesheke High School who was on face book who post such disgusting messages.

Another 17-year-old Grade 11pupil who has also been suspended complained to ZANIS that he was only implicated by circumstances and granted a forced transfer.

The named pupil complained that he tried to explain to the head teacher that he was not involved and came from too far a place to get involved in such activities but the school authorities were bold on him.

Efforts to get a comment from the Provincial Education Officer (PEO) on a phone line in Mongu proved futile as the phone went answered.

  1. THOSE KIDS ARE NOT FIT FOR SOCIETY. THEY ARE A SHAME AND MUST BE TAUGHT A LESSON TO DETER OTHERS.

  2. the head was too in a rush. he lacks leadership qualities, no need of sniffing pupils gossip. they say alot of things that they might not mean, morever there is no evidence. what if there names were implicated by registerrin their names instead of the culprits

  3. This is moral decay. Why even transfer them to another school, send them home they have no manners of any kind. This is Zambia and not States or UK where stupidity is tolarated. They have gone too far instead of studying they are wasting their time misbehaving. Guys be real this is Zambia.

  4. kuichailafye ba teacher nabo. ifimanimbo nafyo nafibipisha pa Z. mulechita ifintu ngafyabipa ngefi ati abaichetabaleumfwa but mulelaba ifintu fimo ifyo muleleta nukulanda ati e morden thing. so KUICHAILA FYE.

  5. Thot this a boarding school? so teachers allow pupils 2 use cellphones whilst in school coz there is no internet cafe in sesheke

  6. Sending away offenders from school does not rehabilate them why not punish them and slap them with court cases which might mean locking them up during august holiday in prison allowibg counsellors to visit them and punishment to be implemented. So as for them to have a lesson to learn.

  7. A total waste of time of the part of the head teacher. It is social media, as long as the suspected pupils do not act what the write, I do not see what the problem is.

If anything, the pupils should be commended for been technologically savvy considering their location. The head teacher should just ask the pupils to do a competition on how to market their school and community to the outside world via the net.
    .

  8. Mr. Walubita you should have first of all whipped them 21 strokes each, make them dig pit-latrines one each, and finally fire their asses. I never ever liked teagers, this why I never wanted to be a teacher…. kutuponona utwana twabene.

  9. Very harsh punishments, clearly social media is new to this head teacher, what’s stopping the others pupils creating another group anonymously with fake accounts.

  10. Now authorities want to censor what kids say outside of school. What is this dictatorship bull? When did school authorities become moral gods….they are impregnanting under age girls left and right.

  11. they were jst supposd 2 b punishd,so its lyk the head teacher and thos stafs were going out with their boyz girl friends,i knw hw teachers re

  12. The young idiots should be given two years school leave to be rehabilitated. Our society nowadays is rotten and such insolence should not be allowed. Corporal punishment should also be re-introduced in schools. Even the bible does state that spare the rod and spoil the child.

  13. #6 I was equally wondering the same……how are they accessing internet, if cellphone during what periods secondary anyone can comment…..best they do an audit to trace them all firing or transfering the pupils is too rational a decision made….and Provisional education official should have a say before final decision.

  14. What has happened to good old studies and aiming for distinctions!
    Too many detractions!
Facebook builds and sadly destroys in the same proportions as the students have learnt.
    Headmaster is very right!
    We must have boundaries!

  15. Mr. Headteacher! First of all Whip their little butts, ask each one of them to come a fosholo and a pick probably a hoe as well.Let the little crooks dig a rubbish bin each and suspend them for a year so that their parents/guardians know about their mischievous deeds.
Then, they learn a lesson.Suspending them and sending them to other schools won’t help because there is no guarantee that they will change.

  16. You’ve made a number of respectable points presently there. We seemed on the net for that matter and discovered the general public goes along with along with your site.

  17. Some genuinely excellent posts on this web site , appreciate it for contribution.

  18. out of may only caused all this trouse, pls envestigate thorough to find the genuine culplit

  19. Orange 91@11 and Botani Learn something. When you write stupid stuff about someone on a website you are committing libel. It is illegal. You can be sued for it. Be careful what you say about someone else when you know its going to be PUBLISHED.

  20. Wen such things hapen, its beta to c the roots of the fruit nt jst the fluits.sesheke is a bad school, dats o i cn say.
