State House Economics Adviser Paul Siame says the Patriotic Front government will serve the Zambian people for more than one term.
Mr. Siame said suggestions that the PF will be the shortest serving government in the history of Zambia are baseless.
“Our popularity keeps on growing. If one says we are leaving in 2016, I would say they are dreaming,” Mr. Siame said.
He expressed confidence that most of the plans that President Michael Sata has put in place will start bearing fruit before the next general election.
“We need patience as a nation but most importantly we need to work together. This is not about PF alone. If you love Zambia then you would like to see the PF succeed.”
“If the party that Zambians put in office fails, then the whole nation would failed and this is why we are working so hard to improve the lives of the poor people because this is the reason we were voted into office,” Mr. Siame said.
He said the plan to create jobs for the unemployed youths is underway but urged calm among the jobless youths.
“Demonstrations will not get us anywhere. We need to remain calm and keep supporting the government,” Siame added.
If one takes a moment to read through our manifesto, you will see that we have detailed clear strategies of getting this great country into shape. I then don’t know why somebody should start doubting our commitment to developing the country.
Siame, like others in this tribal government is failing to read the mood of the people as they continue to live in” cuckooland” of make believe. The tide is changing very fast and you only have yourself to blame for taking the people for granted. You will be lucky to make it to 2016!! You are in for a rude awakening because you are not nation builders.
The PF policy proposals for education are set out under three main areas :
Early education: It intends to “provide and facilitate early childhood education centres and teachers in all local government wards in Zambia”. There are also promises to equip teachers with training at diploma and degree levels in early childhood education.
Primary and secondary: The PF will re-introduce “free and compulsory education for all (that is from grade one to grade twelve)”, accompanied by a new commitment to a twin track approach to education with students having the choice to pursue an “academic route” or “technical” path. This is new and seeks to respond to concerns that the current approach is too focused on getting a job rather than entrepreneurship or other innovative practices.
@THREE ZEROS, sounds good especially the twinning part if it could be implemented would make ZNS redundant. But i guess Ka Hole does not read his party’s manifesto, or Mr Siame forgot to him one
We still have hope in you!
Yes hope is there but let them watch the speed at which they are trying to play with pipo’s moods. Mind u Zambians got fed up with MMD on account of wat is happening. If u look abck into history, MMD start messing up in their third year or so but PF has already started in less than a year. pipo are disappointed so far. Let them learn from the mistakes others made.
Siame, please give no more promises, we need to see fruits. You made enough promises during election campaigns. How you hold people together also matters not just talking about plans which have failed to share with the nation as to where you want to take us? CNP. Currently people are divided on tribal lines. GBM and Wynter are busy reaping from govt coffers.
It’s the urgency with which such plans will start bearing fruit and benefitting the people that matters. Zambians desperately want to start seeing improvements in their lives today and not towards the end of the 5year term.
The slogan is simple: Deliver or you are out!!
cimoneni ico ci pf. ifimakalashi kwati cishishi.
you gave unip 27 years and you gave mmd 17 years and you want to start critising pf in just less than ayear. Mind you PF has managed to increase revenue corrections at nakonde boader post. all the leakages that MMD created have been closed. support the government of the day you people.
Only when we see fruits.. we have had enough promises during campaigns sir. Under 5 knows your weakness and you better pull up your socks. we need jobs, more money “IN OUR POCKETS” not 100% for yourselves..Time is ticking.
we ‘ve lost hope in you guys
just get on with the job of advising man! His pronouncements will count for exactly ZERO when the election comes round. The only thing that will matter will be the people’s assessment of the job they’ve done. Its been a mixed bag thus far, so they better watch it!
The PF needs to stop thinking about the elections for 2016. They just need to deliver their campagne promises. Otherwise their candidate will be 80 yrs old. They need a new candidate not Sata to win.
Secret plans for the nation are not of any value if the people do not see any benefits from these invisible plans. It is clear to me that this advisor is shallow and lacks experience in planning and implementing change. One cannot plan and implement anything for people without any consultations and debate on merits and demerits of any course of action plan.
Paul has no experience in that job he holds.question is how does he manage to advise someone who never litsens to people.
Please Paul, don’t waste your education on projects or endeavours detrimental to your future prospects. You unfortunately backed the wrong person!
But hang on i remember you being a hooligan like your boss at unam, smoking dagga and fighting.birds of the same feather indeed!
the clock is ticking! one year next month, my voters card is in my back pocket. wina azalila….now that we know its possible to unseat a govt in power. By the way, ECZ is registereing voters in show grounds, those who need to, please use that office to register.
Only a fool can vote for you again, i cant waste my vote on you for the second time.
How can you leave when you have just started eating well
Now this is what pisses me off…the so called Economic adviser cannot even pronounce a single strategy/policy being undertaken to improve things. He gives the typical lazy answer…read our manifesto. How about figures of FDI in the first half of the year as compared to last year? Figures of export earnings etc etc..this is what you should be talking about Mr Siame not politicking on a daily basis.
lusaka times why dont you publish the truth. stop supporting HH along. there is nevers and the running government. no wonder your paper is not on the market. mind you sata has proven to be more popular through the the votes that every zambian saw in 2011.
@p.f mutale, uve summed it perfectly, only a fool can vote for these characters again, after dribbling zambians like this, ayikona!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cant never again my vote for pf no no no
I LIKE THIS !
COZ NOT EVEN A ‘COW’
CAN BE BORN IN 90DAYZ !
i totally agree with pf mutale that ‘only a fool can vote them again’.
:((
am equally enjoying this !
long live PF !
@not even a COW! lol…….
I think MR SIAME should leave politics to Politicians in PF. In my view an economic adviser is a civil servant and he’s not to right person to comment on popularity of the party. I may be wrong but that’s my view
correct
You can fool some people some time but you cannot fool all the people all the time. This same impunity made the MMD exit, humble yourselves, consult, listen to divergent views, respect others, embrace all tribes, create employment – these are the standards we shall meaure any govt in power, if you fall short, sorry you will be one termers, so start working and give proper advise to the President.
With a trail of broken promises, no employment, no clear policies and intimidation of opposition you think people will vote you again? Keep on dreaming, Zambians are now awake, if you don’t perform you are out, the same youths that voted you in will vote you out. Just enjoy whilst you can, come 2016 PF kuyabeebele!!
Most bloggers don’t even vote and that is why MMD was shocked! They used platforms like this one to measure popularity! Some commentators are not even in Zambia and have not voted in the last 2 elections.
Assuming we called for elections this year, which party would win? I assume there would be so much apathy in that election such that the PF would still win!
So for now we can only state that the PF needs to stand strong on their policies which are meeting resistance by the profiteers. By the way can someone from the PF secretariat confirm the rumour that FQMO has promised to do all Kitwe roads next year. Is this a way of lobbying for tax reduction? PF, don’t consider any tax reduction, actually build capacity in the mining tax collection unit of ZRA.
speak for your self, i hve been voting since since 1996
It’s time to remove this useless Titanic PF government before they do more damage to our beloved country. This is the darkest hour in Zambian history!
The PF Government recognizes that to promote equitable development in Zambia, it is crucial to expand the economy by implementing appropriate and integrated policies, plans, programmes and projects through budgets at all levels. A fourfold increase in overall production depends on bringing the initiative of the 80% of the poor population into full play.
Industry, commerce and other sectors of the economy cannot develop unless we tackle the poverty of 80% of the rural population. For the next three years, the PF Government shall concentrate on rural reform and development to improve the people’s living standards by bringing about changes such as: substantial increase in agricultural output; increased income and the emergence of rural enterprises as a force.
Is this part of the manifesto? It sounds so technical and well researched, something donor can buy up and be wooed with, something so profound and deep that it can only be found on pages of theoretical books, and can never be implemented in Africa, Zambia, esp by the PF.
The PF has developed a 3 year medium term (2013 – 2015) National Infrastructure Development Programme (NIDP) with the aim of providing all Zambians with at least a basic level of service by the year 2015 whilst maximizing creation of job opportunities for the unemployed youth and women throughout the country both in rural and urban areas through Government expenditure in line with the PF Manifesto.” The proposed NIDP is about basic services to the poor, skills development, job creation, local economic development and poverty alleviation. The proposed programme is also about getting people at local level involved in planning and implementation of projects which benefit them and their communities by making use of labour intensive methods for constructing certain types of infrastructure.
Usual promises.
it would appear the economic advisor to the president is not aware about that plan otherwise he would have referred us to it rather than the manifesto. while we are talking about manifestos, if they were equal to development this would would have been very developed if you go by MMD manifesto
What happened to the 90 days theorem? And these guys still need more time from where now. They set their own time frame and today they need more time. It does not make a single sense at all! I rest my case!
anyway the problem with the zambian watchdog is that everyone who comes from Northern province is bemba that is not true am not am mambwe and l have not benefited anything from PF.I support President Milupi l think he’s sharp not a tribalist like some parties support by the trash watch dog.I have many tonga friends some even divorce thier wives over chibwantu.
What has the watchdog got anything to do with Mr. Siame in this story sir?
Ukuteka nokulya bwino, dont wory stop crying, just think and work hard, you will be like them for you will like them.
2016 is far, otherwise you diepofye ne nsala, don’t be politicians know your role. ukusabaila kwisa nobulwele check yourself or you may be and remain a dreamer just hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……….
You will only have another chance if you PF guys can stop ruling and start govrning. People can only work with you in the absence of tribalism and nepotism. Statements from your Ministers such as GBM promoting tribalism can not unite people and develop the country. It is shameful, uncouth and primitive that in this time and era a democratically elected government can decide to sit down and divide a country that has lived in peace and unity for 47 years and educated people like you Siame are wactching. For you to win our hearts again please deal will your President to stop this primitive practice. Do not cheat yourself that PF is growing everyday, the opposite is what is obtaining on the ground. You backward guys will have to get out in 2016.
SIAME YOU ARE VERY RIGHT. FIRST YOU PLAN ALONG SIDE WITH CAPACITY BUILDING AND THEN YOU IMPLEMENT THE PROJECTS. IN FACT PF HAS DONE QUITE A LOT SINCE THEY ASSUMED OFFICE. THE FIRST BUDGET WAS JUST FOR DRAWING THE ROAD MAP TO DEVELOPMENT.
All of you pontalling wil be surprised that PF wins in 2016. It will not be rigging but genuine votes you yourselves will cast for PF, because you will be convinced of the developmnts you will see and you will flip back to PF.
PF is Sata and Sata is PF, if his health fails him….PF will implode with no credible national leader to take over! Now that people have seen their appointments, tribalism issues will cost them far more than they realize at the next elections. Further, the unemployed youths will not buy their extravagant promises next time. PF’s rule may actually end up being the shortest in our history.
Kabwato is sinking, just wait & see. Some one will be shocked. Am begining to have my favor won by HH, can 2016 my vote will be not be wasted to a party with no agenda for Zambia, only creating districts & politicking at state house. Sata has lived his useful life, period. We need a coplete political revolution in Zambia.
Vioneni visilu ivo!
Mwan.ya mulinkulungwe mwalya one term!
THE ELECTION PROMISES are so fresh!! It was a contract! No further promises : Deliver or you are OUT!! An ACTION man gives no excuses and blames no body….It’
pf has to go one term is enough zambia is bigger than pf and health of Sata can go in second term that will be another state funeral
Siame is just dreaming, keep on dreaming. The rest of Zambia have realised that this is just a Bemba government developing themselves with resources from other tribes. This explains why it should be only ONE term if not HALF
Iwe Siame, did I hear you call for patience? Patience? Man, under no duress at all you promised heaven on earth in 90 days! Patience ka?
What happened to Kabimba, is he tired of making excuses and asking for the patience of impatient people?
Pf have no program at all.Am surprised that they consider themselves to be growing in popularity.
what a Government.
Dollar
@1 weluzani. Which people bwana, the Tongas? You must surely be a dreamer. PF is on it for the long haul, thank God.
Which God?
This ***** calls himself the economic advisor to the president? No wonder the country is not moving. Out of his stupidity he refers everything to the manifesto. Is the manifesto the development we are looking for? Why refer us to a political document? Unfortunately all PF cadres talk about their manifesto as if Zambians will eat the same. We want actual development, we want to see signs of movement and the direction we are headed. So far these are absent and this fool has the audacity to refer all Zambians to this useless manifesto! And where does he get the assurance that the party is growing in popularity? Has he done a survey of late? No wonder this government is not performing. They think the manifesto is waht will bring development. Very dull government.
whoever is criticisng the PF gvt he is wasting time. There was a recent report from ZRA that @ nakonde boader post revenue collection has been increased because our gvt HAS CLOSED ALL THE LEAKAGES THAT THE MMD gvt had. the collections will be used to fund in developmental projects that PF has put in place.
SIAME, ARE YOU ECONOMIC ADVISOR OR POLITICAL ADVISOR? AND THESE ARE OUR ECONOMIC LIBERATORS? GOD PLIZ HELP
i do not remember the last time i heard any developmental news like govt has signed a contract with a foreign investor worth millions of dollars that will create 10000 jobs.all we hear is arrest, murdered, departed suwa mwebantu.bwana siame this is what you should be talking about
Another ignorant advisor to Sata. Siame says Sata put in place plans, and yet he fails to give even one example.
He doesn’t want “enemies” to steal the idea and implement them.
Oops! Wait PF is in power and it is OK for them to tell us their plans.
Someone needs to let PF know that they won the elections.
I regret having voted for PF
that makes two of us
the problem with the opposition is they think elections are won on blogs or that PF won by fluke. We defeated un overzealous and over confident corrupt infested party with its tribal henchman. Now that we ve the machinery what do think?statistics were endlessly chanelled out on FDI this, economic growth that! it didnt matter we defeated them and all their cohorts.PF is here to stay.4 more years to go we will see who has the last laugh! MMD is finished never coming back,UPND is a joke just their as part of democracy, the rest well we leave that for all you losers to figure out!!!
And sitting somewhere on a forgotten shelf is dusty document, smelling of storage and growing cobwebs.
The PF Manifesto
HH is not providing an alternative government. He has alot to learn. He claims to be more educated but he is follow the mistakes made by SATA. Any I doubt if he will make it as a president because he only have support from Southern province.
We do not develop because of lack of continuity. The MMD left good plans that were developed with stakeholder consultation such as vision 2030 and sixth national development plan which were not just implemented because of lack of political will. When Sata won he even mentioned that there would not be major policy shift but that his govt would work on implementation which was observed to be the problem, and now Mr Siamwe says the developing one plan, which means they had non when they promising pipo and therefore fit in what HH calls them.
Unfortunately time does not wait for anyone, by the time they finish developing their plan, it will be 2016 and thanx to them I will carry my own pen just in can they play the trick they said MMD would play on us
By the way I have kept the pen I used to vote for PF, so I try and preserve it. If it will still be writing in 2016, it will the one I will use, may be it will make feel a bit better looking at the disappointment and pain me and my pen have contributed to this country
what a great blog and educative posts’s a I Purchase of high quality wedding, your content, I really like post.
