Zanaco yesterday broke away from the pack to open a four point lead at the top of the Faz Super Division log.
The Bankers beat bottom placed national Assembly 1-0 at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka through a Lewis Macha goal in the 15th minute to keep them on course for a sixth Super Division title with nine games left to play.
Zesco United on the other hand stayed a close second after they were held 1-1 away at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya.
Power Dynamos defence of their title suffered a setback after a scoreless draw at Forest Rangers but they stayed third despite the draw on 37 points.
Meanwhile, the biggest cheer was at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe where Nkana shipped in three second half goals without reply in the second half against Konkola Mine Police after a first half fraught with injury stoppages.
Reynold Kampamba and Evans Kangwa slotted in superb goals each in the 70th and 74th minutes respectively.
Mwila Kabwe scored a rare header in the 88th minute to seal the win in front of a very pack house at Arthur Davies where Nkana’s home fans roared on their team throughout the 90 minutes.
Nkana stay in 12th place despite the win but move four points away from the bottom four teams in their quest to avoid being sucked into a demotion dog fight.
