Mulyata donates to church album launch

Lusaka Province Minister, Sheal Mulyata says government remains committed to supporting the church, describing it as a partner in promoting national peace and unity.

Ms Mulyata says the church must continue playing their rightful role in preaching peace to society.

She said this when hosting the Seventh-day Adventist, Canaan Congregation at her office, where she handed over her 10-thousand-kwacha pledge made towards an album produced by a music group belonging to the church.

The Minister said her office remains devoted to supporting initiatives that uplift people and glorify God, including gospel music.

Ms. Mulyata emphasized that gospel music was vital to national well-being, especially in a Christian nation like Zambia.

“I am delighted to fulfill my K10,000 pledge to Canaan Congregation because my word is my bond. Gospel music is a powerful tool for spreading hope and unity, and I am proud to support the talented artists who are using their gifts to bless our nation. A promise made is a promise kept, and I trust this contribution will help your music reach even more people,” she said.

Ms. Mulyata told the musicians that the pledge and their efforts are an investment in their God-given gifts, urging them to continue in the same spirit, which serves as a powerful tool for positive change, especially among the youthful.

She encouraged them to strive for excellence and produce music that will have an impact not only in their congregation but the entire nation.

“Let this music continue to win souls and help build a stronger, more righteous Zambia. The Government of the Republic of Zambia, under the able leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema, remains steadfast in supporting such positive, community-driven efforts,” she said.

The pledge comes after Canaan SDA Church invited the Minister as guest of honour at an event recently, which she could not attend due to other national duties but honored her contribution.

Meanwhile, Assigned Generation Chorale, Music Director Ian Chiwasa, thanked Government for its dedication to supporting the church.

Mr Chiwasa also commended Government for rolling out empowerment programmes that are benefiting the youth.

He added that the church remains focused on taking part in Government programs such as community sensitization on Gender-based violence (GBV) and other social initiatives.

“As a church, we have been running sensitization programs where, at some point, we invited the Zambia Police to help educate the youth on GBV, a good move in building strong and resilient young people who are free from violence,” Mr Chiwasa said .
