BRE calls for peace in Western Province

The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) in Kaoma district has appealed to all the Lozi speaking people to maintain peace and order in Western province.

Induna Francis Noyo, who was accompanied by Induna Angulu, made the appeal on behalf of the Ngambela (prime minister), Clement Sinyinda, when he officially opened the 16thanniversary celebrations of His Royal Highness, Senior Chief Amukena II (the second) of Kaoma district held at his Naliele palace grounds over the weekend.

Mr Sinyinda said Western Province is endowed with rich soils that could improve the living standards of the people in all the districts if fully harnessed.

And speaking earlier, Senior chief Amukena the second, acting Imangabwa (prime minister) Namushi Nyambe of Naliele palace appealed to the Barotse Royal Establishment to construct a rural health centre at the palace.

Senior chief Amukena the second complained that many mothers and children were finding it difficult to access medical services due to long distances.

He was speaking through Acting Imangabwa Namushi Nyambe.

Senior Chief Amukena said since the Naliele palace was established in 1937 in Kaoma district it has not seen much development, adding that up to now the palace has not yet been electrified.

He complained that he and his subjects were sharing contaminated water with domestic animals from shallow wells since the only borehole at the palace broke down in 1967 and has not been repaired.

The three days anniversary ceremony was attended by Kaoma District Commissioner, Joster Manjolo, Heads of government Departments and parastatal organizations and several other Indunas among others.

  1. Why ask the BRE to construct a health centre for you instead of the Government?

  2. Yes ba Sampa,why asking BRE to construct a health centre instead of gov? These lozi f o o l s !!

  3. Bo Sinyinda, you were in Government during the rein of RB, surely you could have seen this underdevelopment. While you were busy dressing the trees through out the country things were terrible in Kaoma where animals are sharing wells with human beings, I am suprised.

  4. They do NOT recorgnise the Govt. The District Commissioner also JUST took himself there.

  5. Comedy at its best. the luyis think they are too smart to manipulate even the owners of the land, the nkoyas. Amukrena is not senior chief of kaoma. its Mwene Mutondo. Infact the senior most chief is Shakalongo Mwendananjimba. he was the owner of the drums in Lealui, where he was killed when he visited Litunga. Shakalongo was a threat to the Luyis so they engineered his death. People must know where they came from, otherwise you will give up even what is rightfully yours.

    • I thought that Mwene Mutondo secretly crowned himself at a lodge at night either as a Paramount Chief or even a King of the Nkoyas in Kaoma last year.  Now you are saying he is merely a senior chief???

  6. Life is a stage. sometimes you become the actor and other times you are the audience

  7. @Mwanamwene
I thought that Mwene Mutondo secretly crowned himself either as a Paramount Chief or even a King of the Nkoyas at a lodge at night in Kaoma last year.  Now you are saying he is merely a senior chief???

  8. THEY CONTINUE DREAMING- BRE to construct a health centre???????

    Be real.

  9. The pump broke down in 1967, during Kaunda’s era. It remained broken during Chiluba’s, Mwanawasa’s and Banda’s eras. Sata who has been in power for just more than a year ends up getting the blame! How do minds of some of us Zambians work? It is amazing! From 1967, how many MPs have represented the area. How come none of the MPs raised the issue of the broken borehole? How do we, as Zambians continue voting for people who do not look after our interests? We have a former MP from the area appearing in court for theft of borehole pumps. Come next election the same former MP will be back in the same area, asking people to vote for him. Guess what some people will still vote for him and then blame the govt for lack of development in the area.

  10. These people also…BRE building a health center when it has failed to built the road to kalabo?? A joke of the year.

  11. BRE dont worry/kubeba we are working dy en nty so dat we prvd ZED BOND to yo country.it wil enable u constract one
