THE Kitwe magistrate court yesterday slapped a six months simple imprisonment sentence to the woman that allegedly poured hot porridge on her husband.
Two months out of the six would be suspended for 12 months meaning that she will only serve four months simple imprisonment.
Mavis Mwansa,29, of house number 692, Bulangililo was facing one count of causing grievous bodily harm contrary to section 229 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
On October 12 this year Mwansa, unlawfully did grievous bodily harm to Nelson Mwanza after pouring hot porridge on him.
She however denied the charge But in his judgment, senior resident magistrate Daniel Musonda noted Mr. Mwanza was grievously harmed by Mwansa.
The court also noted that Mr Mwanza sustained burns on the left side of his body and part of his face.
In her mitigation , Mwansa said has learnt a lot from the time she was remanded at Kamfinsa prison and asked for lenience. She also said that she was sorry for whatever she had done.
Good lesson for such people. Some women such acts are normal when they could engage themselves in something more reasonable in trying to resolve issues. How do you disfigure your friend, useless pig.
If it was a man, it would have been hard labour and years. The man has suffered permanent damage to his face and some one is sentenced 4 months simple inprisonment.
Sad state of matter.
You heard Tracy Chapman’s “Behind The Wall”? That is a cycle established there. Next time she will kill him, or he will kill her… let them go their separate ways.
some women…
#4 Kalok, I agree with you, but not your Zambian musician Tracy Chapman. That marriage is all-over, they will never live in peace.
This may happen to Sata as well, or 90% PF men will now continuously experience such acts from their wives.

Okay LT, you can do better. what are the facts of the matter? What is the story behind her actions?
@ 15 KKM I agree with you. This story lacks facts and one wonders whether it is just made up or not. At this point it is difficult to make any meaningful comment as the story does not reveal any facts.
Hello
That’s a good post.
