Government has expressed concern with the continued publishing of nude pictures by some sections of the media in the country.

Chief Government Spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni said government regrets pictures depicting scantily dressed persons socializing in night clubs and other entertainment spots.

The spate of nudity being experienced in some night clubs as show on pictures of some media has brought a lot of worry to a cross section of society including the government.

It is for this reason that government through the ministry of information has now spoken out to condemn the ugly face of this porno which is slowly corrupting the moral of Zambians especially the young generation who are supposed to grow up with good morals in a Christian nation.

Mr Sakeni who is also information minister said the common discomfort features being displayed in some media outlets have brought much discomfort to the members of the general public some of whom have seriously complained to his office.

In a statement issued to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Lusaka today, Mr Sakeni said the pictures are not only morally harmful but also un-Zambian and unacceptable considering that Zambia is a Christian nation.

He further called upon all stakeholders and the media to continue working together to sow decency and good morals in the society considering that the country is grappling with the challenge of Gender Based Violence (GBV), rape, defilement among other vices.

  1. Especially fi Zambian watch imbwas. These are the worst culprits and should be closed down forthwith. Its a site for Tongas, by the Tongas to all Zambians but if you criticize their under 5, they will moderate your comment and delete it. They only want you to praise their under 5 as if that will put him in State house. To even make matters worse, 90% of the bloggers on Watch Imbwas are in diaspora and do not even have proper documents to live in those Countries, but illegally. Once you come out, you will never go back there and you know it you watch imbwas supporters.

    • Sadakah u are an imbicle and uncircumised fool. U need to check yo dirty mouth, let me give u free advice. Work hard and change yo life, u sleep on the floor in a rented house in kanyama. Left skool in grade 4 and run away from home becoz yo father sodomised u. U need prayers u sick fella. 4get HH and His excellency M Sata, this two will never sleep hungry even if they have to retire from politics. Think about yo poor mother who has never known a tissue but the Post paper to wipe herself. Shame.

    • We chipuba, you can’t even debate fairly. Your brain is kolwestan infected. Watchdog shows what your inspiring PF paper the post publishes. You and your clan put together are no match to HH. He sells hope to a lot of hardworking Zambians. If UPND governed SP, they can achieve the gains of countries like Botswana in ten years. They have quality and principled unlike your lying tribesman at state house.

    • Be realistic iwe, the widely condemed pictures which made Sakeni comment where published in the Post newspaper. Thats why has generalised the condemnation because he fears mentioning Post for fear of being targeted in the editorials. If it was watchdog, sakeni could have just outrightly said its is Zambian watchdog.

  2. Baba Sakeni are you afraid of mentioning the word POST?They are the only newspaper practicing such nosense.

  3. Do not beat about the bush!
The friday Post contains a porn star magazine and it has alot of followers including politicians in high offices.
Let us not pretend, some big big people are frequenting night spots due to nudity by girls.

  4. Don’t shoot the messenger. What the media is portraying is what is on the ground. You had better act ON the ground, too. Otherwise you will get an explosive moral situation like is obtaining in some unfortunate countries with disastrous records of abuse of women and children. Stop politicking and do something about it!!! Ati Christian nation!!

  5. we thought after alot of cry the paper will improve pictures on their entertainment page, but even today we see even worse photos,Just bring back foffi he kiks these selling such to the media… the Govt should take charge met membe tomorrow .What a shem..

  6. Pornographic materials and practices were unheard of in all past regimes for good reasons of upholding good morals in the nation. In today’s govt chickens have come home to roost through the pro Post news papers of PF govt. Immoral and irresponsible journalism is being rewarded by PF govt. Chansa Kabwela the former Post news paper journalist who displayed in the Post news paper a Zambian mother delivering a baby at UTH without shame was rewarded with a diplomatic post. Chellah the mouth piece of dictator Sata was once a Post news paper employee and Membe and the Post news paper brought down RB for Sata and Membe is untouchable with debts K14bn owed to DBZ soon to be written off as payback for Sata’s presidency. All this speaks of immorality beyond belief in Zambia. Its ‘Donchi Kubeba’.

  7. Let the women who were pictured come out and complain. There is a reason they were dressed that way in the first place….

  8. Kalok. to suggest that whatever is ‘on the ground’ should be published is nonsense. why doesnt the publisher start with the pono in his bedroom or shower room?

  9. Why do Zambian men pretend am sure some of you bloggers were salivating at the pictures then you come on this forum saying fyototo fyototo

  10. Mr Ape just say it s the post newspapers which is dying slowly but sure . not some sections of the media when you know the media which carried those nude pictures. this is the dullness we talk about. failing to tell the sex of the dog when it is naked. u foool do you know what you are doing?

  11. If these pictures are wrong and corrupting morals, then the government should deal with the people who are in night clubs so that the stop doing what they do. How can you condemn a picture without condemning the actual person pictured?

  12. MR sakeni we all know the PORNSTAR you are talking about is Fred M’membe who is selling porno in THE POST.. The paper has no new as they have run of SATA’s paises and now resulted in selling porno… kekekee

    • Because Post = PF GOVERNMENT. Mentioning POST/PF not possible because Post Malupenga is Permanent Secetary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. 2. If PF/POST is mentioned then Libongani IG would have to move against FRED M’MEMBE and that would spell disaster for HE MC Sata and PF Government and annihilation of SAKENI. I date SAKENI to mention the POST and see if he will even eat supper that day!!!

  13. I thnk its not about th moral decay tht is crippling our society but th whiff of money by our media.Th picture carried by th post painted a very bad picture abt th paper and our women4k bcoz they ar th ones who cry foul abt GBV.Th same cn b sed about th Chansa Kabwela saga.Tht picture was gruesum. It shudnt b shon to th general public. Our women shud oso tek care of thmselvs ratha being in th 4 front complening.I min th nid 2 mind th way they dress:minis,legngs,tyt/low-waist hipstars, barebaks etc. They nid 2 b wary of our fast changing world in terms of sexual desires & temptations by men.And muscians must b cautioned nt 2 use women in tht way.

  14. The major problem is these pictures are published in a newspaper which people buy and even take home. Thus even children end up being exposed to nudity. Shud we serely be sensuring newspapers as well. Some people do not go to night clubs to avoid these things. instaed the post brings it to our offices and homes. Please spare us.I of course long stoped buying this paper especiallly the friday ones. Maybe that the step you should consider taking if you realy feel bad about this.

  15. hey hey hey sakeni just say the post newspaper period. nothing to hide, naimwe mwebantu please stop tribe mention it’s mother zambia,we got one zambia, some of our members are married to lozi’s, kaonde’s, easterners, bemba’s, tonga’s, luvale’s. don’t allow politician to divide us,if we follow tribe line’s then we are sitting on time bomb. remember wat happened in kenya and in zambia it ll be disaster, lwenu

  16. @ no. 1 and all those attacking Zambian watching. i think a paper on the street like the post and internet based news is different if you dont want your browser to show any nude pics but still be able to ready the news you can simply do that from yo browser settings unfortunately you cant do that for a paper on the street. how ever i would condemn Zambian watchdog in that the condemn the post by reposting what appeared in the the post. to me thats just a sly way of pushing their envelope as well. it more like saying to yo dad ati uyu atukana ati c^^^&&%# chako. how wise is that. however i think its folly for the post to expose what happens in the clubs i believe there is reason as to why clubs have an age restrction. i cant imagine newspapers in the netherlands weekly publishing what goes…

  17. there is nothing wrong with the nude pictures but a wake up call for the nation that people should not forget about the deadly effect of the HIV aids which is hiding in those mini skirts that the post are showing you people.

  18. Ba Sakeni knows well that the nude pictures are published by the pro-PF newspaper called The Post. Ala tekanyeni ng’anga imusange amuchi milepema.

  19. Sakeni, is too scared to identify The Post Newspaper as the publishers of the obscene pics. Undeterred by Sakeni’s half-hearted and feeble rebuke, Fred Mmembe has in today’s issue of The Post Newspaper (editorial column) advanced legal, political and religious arguments in support of the paper’s publication of the offending pics. In his usual form, Fred has dared the Police to arrest him if he has violated any criminal offence. The guy never ceases to amaze me with his arrogance & holier than thou attitude.

  20. It’s a shame to see what Zambians are tolerating nowadays. Printing and re-printing of nude/partial nude images (or what ever the justification of such images) in public media seem to suggest a lack of common sense. Prostitution has been in existence as long as man has been roaming the earth BUT depiction of such acts or images of such acts in public spaces like national newspapers is normally frowned upon anywhere in the world. There are many ways of bringing attention to the wrongs of a society without the shocking images.

  21. u PF sipokosi person dont comment if you dont have the odacity to be specific, how dare you say “SOME NEWSPAPERS” If u dont know the name then where did u get this infor? What kind of example are u leading to your family and the nation. U quack!!

  22. I precisely wished to appreciate you all over again. I’m not certain what I would have worked on without the actual secrets shown by you relating to such subject. It has been a very hard scenario in my position, but spending time with your specialised fashion you treated it took me to leap with joy. I am thankful for your advice and then sincerely hope you know what an amazing job your are doing instructing many people via your web page. I am certain you’ve never met any of us.

  23. I think we shouldn’t forget that these girls displaying their bodies re coming from our homes where they re supposed to be taught manners on dress code. People don’t you think we re failing as parents to sit our children down and train them on how to dress? Don’t just throw stones before checking your home. Lets assume that was Sakeni’s daughter wat wud u say to him?
