Former Chief Registrar of Societies Clement Andeleki and former Southern Province Permanent Secretary Gladys Kristafor are the favourites to contest the February 28 Livingstone Parliamentary by-election on the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) ticket.

The two are among the 11 candidates who have expressed interest to contest the February 28 polls on the PF ticket. Other 9 candidates are Winfred Mweene, Lawrence Evans, Wilfred Chiyesu, Colonel Mwanamwale, Elvin Sindowe, Liven Apuleni, Zondhwayo Soko, Captain John Mwamulima and Joram Mwinda.

PF Southern Province Political Secretary Brian Hapunda has urged all aspirants to support the candidate who would be adopted by the ruling party’s Central Committee in Lusaka.

Mr Hapunda said the party won’t go anywhere if it became divided after the adoption of a candidate for the Livingstone Parliamentary seat.

“I wish to urge our aspiring candidates to rally behind a candidate who will be given to us by the Central Committee.

Let them campaign for him or her for the sake of unity to prevail during the Livingstone by-election,” he said.

  1. This woman, always going for the side that is battered, no principles at all whatsoever.

Of course there was no way Andeleki was going to resign his position for nothing. We all knew. So they think they can fool us ..we know how greedy these b a s t a r d s are

  2. viva andeleki you are better than gladys last elections whilst saving as ps she used govt machinery to campain for rb now what does she want in pf

  3. Do not be fooled. Livingstone in not Choma or Monze to be called SP. We have infiltrated that area. By the way Andeleki is from Chief Mukuni’s palace. The chief just needs to show up a few times.

    • Mistake: Mukuni is perhaps the most despised chief for having sold most of the Zambezi bank to investors for personal benefit. NO ONE endorsed by Mukuni can win in Mukuni village let alone Kazungula District where he belongs and forget Livingstone! Yes, Mukuni is very rich from his pipo’s land which he has sold and his pipo will never forgive him. Stay away from Mukuni if u want votes Andeleki. Remember Mukuni was RB’s chief Southern Province campaigner with disgraced Mwanachingwala.

  4. All the other aspirants are just pf cosmetics meant to deceive the public of democracy in pf in the chossing of candidents process. we all know that Mohamed Adeleki has already been adopted and that’s why he resigned his post. let UPND teach him and pf a lesson for wasting tax payers moneyon this unnessary by election.

  5. MMMH….PEOPLE ARE SCRUMBLING TO BE ADOPTED ON THE PF TICKET. I THINK THIS TIME THE PF WILL TAKE LIVINGSTONE. WHICH MEANS UPND WILL NOW BE REDUCED TO BE A PARTY OF PEASANTS. NDELOLESHAFYE. KE KE KE KE…

  6. @ Selima DK. JUST A BIT OF MATHEMATICS. IN THE LAST BYE ELECTION IN LIVINGSTONE, THE PF CANDIDATE JOSEPH AKAFUMBA GOT 8,318 VOTES. BUT THE UPN /MMD COMBINED CANDIDATE HOWARD SIKWELA GOT 11,979 VOTES. BUT THIS TIME THE UPND/MMD VOTE WILL BE SPLIT AND SOME SYMPATHISERS OF SIKWELA WILL NOT VOTE FOR UPND. NOT TO MENTION INDEPENDENTS AND OTHER PARTIES. SIMPLE LOGIC WILL TELL YOU THAT THE PF WILL SCOOP THAT SEAT. MIND YOU IN 2011, THE PF CANDIDATE ONLY GOT 1,736 VOTES BUT MANAGED TO RISE TO 8,318 IN THE FIRST BYE ELECTION.
THE ONLY PERMUTATION THAT LEAVES THIS SEAT OPEN TO ANYONE IS THAT ECZ HAS 65,000 REGISTERED VOTERS IN THIS CONSTITUENCY.BUT WE CAN ONLY BASE OUR ARGUMENT ON PEOLPLE WHO ACTUALLY VOTE. SO IT WILL BE NAIVE FOR ANYONE TO BELIEVE THAT PF CANNOT SCOOP THIS SEAT. NOT EVEN BY DREAM.

    • OH YES . HE CAN GO TO STATE HOUSE TO GREET THE PRESIDENT OR ATTEND STATE FUNCTIONS. BUT NEVER TO OCCUPY IT. AND NOT WITH THE BAGGAGE OF TRIBALISM WHICH HE HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS. UNLESS ONE IS CONSTRUCTED IN SP. KE KE KE…

    • @munyelapamenshi. YOU SEEM TO TAKE THINGS VERY PERSONAL, THATS WHY YOU PEOPLE ARE SAID TO BE BITTER. ANDELEKI IS A ZAMBIAN LIKE ANYBODY. HE HAS THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY ELECTION AS A VOTER OR AS AN MP CANDIDATE. WHAT CROOKEDNESS HAS HE PERFORMED? TELLING ORGANISATIONS TO PAY THEIR TAXES IS NOT CROOKEDNESS. HE WAS MAKING PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE. HIS AMBITION TO CONTEST THE LIVINGSTONE SEAT IS PERSONAL. LET THE VOTERS JUDGE.

  7. We said it that The Bastard Clement Andeleki is a tool for PF and they used him as a tool should be used against MMD.But time will teach him a lesson and he will go to his grave regreting why he allowed himself to be used by this Nkoya chap Kabimba. My appeal goes to MMd and UPND to burry their hatchets and work together to bury Andeleki.

  8. Saki and HH are friends again! Need I say more……! By the way,Chief Mukuni ‘s palace is under katombora constituency in Kazungula District.

  9. I repeat like I said before that UPND does not condone re-cycled politicians for candidates. So please do not tempt us from not voting by imposing the learned Sakwiba Sikota on Livingstone again. His previous two terms left us with his unfinished hotel on Mushili Way, two mourners shelters at Livingstone General Hospital built from left-over bricks from the hotel. Two donations of Mosquito Nets at Lubasi Home and Batoka Hospital. As a”Settler” I cannot contest election where tribal qualifications and consideration reigns supreme even if I too could make a good MP than Saki. We need a local/resident MP influencial, honest and humble enough to tap resources rapidly from the ruling Govt, to properly develop Livingstone as a Tourist Capital now that it no longer Provincial capital.
