The Patriotic Front in Northern Province has sought the intervention of party secretary general Wynter Kabimba to resolve the alleged standoff between local party officials and Defense Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba.

Party officials in Mr Mwamba’s constituency Kasama Central and other district and provincial officials yesterday held a media briefing were they accused Mr Mwamba of neglecting his constituency and refusing to work with established party structures.

PF provincial secretary Everest Chella who chaired the media briefing also produced correspondence written on December 12, 2012 by party officials addressed to Mr Mwamba inviting him for tête-à-tête.

But Mr Chella said Mr Mwamba ignored the said letter and did not respond to the invitation.

He said the inability by Mr Mwamba to meet constituency and party officials had derailed continuous party mobilisation.

And according to the letter sent to Mr Kabimba, party mobilisation in Kasama Central needed to be done in close collaboration with the area MP (Mr Mwamba) who had shown unwillingness to participate in party programmes.

“Sir we know that the MP receives constituency allowance and has transport that could be part of the mobility solutions that we are faced with in party mobilisation in our area. Honourable G. B Mwamba has in short decided to dump his constituency after he was elected.

“It is for this reason, that we wish to petition our party secretariat to help us resolve the impasse,” the letter read in part.

The letter authored by Constituency officials and copied to among other Mr Mwamba himself, the provincial executive committee extended another invitation to Mr Mwamba “to find time in his busy schedule to visit the constituency” to rejuvenate party activities which had come to a standstill.

Mr Chella however, said the provincial executive committee’s duty was not to harangue any MP and the decision to petition Mr Kabimba was not based on vendetta.

When contacted for comment Mr Mwamba’s mobile phone went straight to voicemail while Mr Kabimba’s mobile was unavailable.

  1. IF the rumour going around is true, I will buy a bottle of champne , am told he may not finish the term office. This will be a dream come true and good riddance. Please no state funerals its expensive.

    • @octopus…. i also have bottles of brandy waiting for that moment and day…. the devil is claming his own i have been told, it won`t long before those fires are made! 50 percent of zambia`s current problems will go away on that day

    • It will be you or your father or mother or wife or sister or brother or child who will die before Sata dies. Thats how the Lord God works against those who wish death for others. Be careful before your relations start dying for your careless talk.

    • My friend dont wish bad to your friend neighbour/colleague. In Nyanja we say “Wakufa siazibika” you may be the one to kick the bucket first.

    • Austin mbozi had tosted a chapagne for Livinstone and Mpongwe victory lol. .Please its not done till match officials say. Take it easy.

    • @ truth shut your beack no one has mentioned names of who is dying so don’t put words in pipo. ‘S mouths

    • May sickness and death be a common trait in your family.I hope you will also die late so that you see how it pains to lose a loved ones.Thou shall not call evil upon anyone.I just transferring that curse to your family line.

    • You may be academically sound, but definately spiritually banckrupt. Some of us may have more information concerning the spirituality of some leaders in government, yet we do not wish them death, we do not curse them. We pray for them instead. The enemy is using you, and you need to repent. Maybe I am pushing it to far, do you even understand what I’m talking about?

  2. Ba Winter ukusamwa, why does he frail? His pants or shoes cannot even fit. Mushota is busy swallowing a white dudes something…..

  3. I meant to say why does Winter look frail. Politicians in Zambia need to have healthy lifestyle. No wonder every one thinks muli mfwa nkwenda

  4. Its like having a dispute with a chicken and inviting the fox to “amicably” resolve the impasse. There’s no guessing what the result would be. But this highlights the complexity of mixing Government business with politics. An MP isn’t the best person to develop a constituency, because he’s basically a politician while the constituent is composed of people that are from various interest groups including ordinary people. The best person to develop such an area is a Government official, a DC who is a civil servant. But then this position has been heavily politicized too. “Elect an MP from the ruling party so that u receive development”. Sounds familiar? Paradox of logic.

  5. Oh how i miss the good old MMD days when we didn’t have these distracting sideshows. We used to read about record forex reserves, bumper harvests and record FDI inflows. Now all we hear is endless infighting, walkouts,a zillion swearing ins, scarcities of essentials and high placed insults/ embarrassments.

    • You thinking like that today? Amazing.. Enka Rasha is thinking now, congratulations. We need 2 more right thinkers.

    • I have no clue how old you are. When I think MMD, I think…the late Nkumula, the late Penza, the late Tembo, the radar saga, the trashing of the London judgement, the clothing of every pole/tree, along all roads, in MMD chitenge, the resignation of DPP Mukelebai Mukelebai, LAZ dragging ZNBC to court to compel them to give coverage to the opposition….the list is endless. Take time to read. Of course I do not dispute that we had very good ministers of finance (Penza, Magande) and a very good central bank governor (Caleb), just as we now have a very good minister of finance (Chikwanda) and BOZ governor (Michael). In order to aid your memory, take time to research and associate with elders.

  6. Well, if GBM does not visit his constituency, then there is a problem. But again it doesnt mean he needs to be there each time.Thats why we have DC’s, provincial chairpersons etc to help in such issues.

  7. Patience pays kasama central guys. Lets wait till 2016.We asked for this n looking at the centre of contrversy, awe mwandi!

  8. Heey you guys sit and resolve the issue in a mature manner. You are elderly people.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

    • Can’t see the difference between Judges Ngoma, Chibesakunda and this ‘useful *****’ Kabimba. The boy thinks he owns Zambia yet he was just appointed by his dying boss; my foot!

  9. If truelly there’s nothing fishy going on BGM has to visit hs constituency… He may not be based there quite alright but it is important for him to visit time n time again especially when the pipo want to meet with him. He has to knw n address the issues of the pipo who elected him. Facing them n having meetings with them is not optional.

  10. I hope WYNTER. Is not going to be your next president. I just don’t have empathy with the dude. I see something evil in him, dishonest, all those bad virtues

  11. Leave GBM alone, wat a stupid Northern Province PF Chairman, how can you invite some body like Wynter( who behaves like a rabbied dog) to come and resolve issues concerning GBM, the solution there is so obvius, stupid Chairman.

  12. Why is it GBM is usually associated with negative news? Could it be that that’s his conception of contribution to national development?

    • The one who thought that gk would die earlier than the kateka is the one who called him red lips-do you have any idea who that was?

  13. Again its gonna be winter vs GBM. What a useless rematch? I am getting sick every day whenever I hear winter kabimba.

  14. Iwe Wynter *****, it seems u ar related to the late Tetamashimba do u want to die too? Just die dot bring us confusion in zambia, dats how Tetamashimba started behaving , and yo skin jst fading day by day, bizy barking barking, like u ar above all zambians wachepa ka kolwe iwe, u ar a rubbish together with whoever appointed u.
