Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani has said the command is investigating the matter in which some police recruits at Kamfinsa mobile unit are alleged to have impregnated 11 pupils from the nearby Kamfinsa High School.
Ms Libongani said she would establish the facts of the matter and would bring to book anyone found wanting adding that appropriate administrative action would be taken against them.
About 11 pupils from Kamfinsa High School are alleged to have been impregnated by police recruits from the mobile unit police college in the same area.
The development was confirmed by the Non-Governmental Organisation Coordinating Council (NGOCC) focal point persons who said the victims were between 15 and 18 years and came to know about it after receiving numerous complaints from the community.
Coppeltbelt Minister Mwenya Musenge said it was good that the matter was being investigated by the police command adding that any police recruit who would be found guilty should face the law.
He urged pupils, not only at Kamfinsa High school but countrywide, to take responsibility of themselves while they were still at school and should not engage in activities that might ruin their education and future.
“These girls were old enough to decide what was good for them. We cannot just blame the accused police recruits, the girls also need to take full responsibility of themselves to avoid such problems,” he said.
He called on parents to take keen interest in the activities that girls were engaged in and monitor their movements to avoid the increasing incidents of early pregnancies.
Some people have no morals or ethics! But I suppose it takes two to tango.
Too bad.
I know some of the officers by name, but unfortunately Zambia can’t do DNA test have to send to SA ,what is ridiculous to me. All the officers you send to solwezi have left children there, meanwhile they were married in Kitwe, the kamfinsa mobile unit is a useless one, ma hule those chaps
The girls are also to blame for willingly opening their legs.I`m not supporting what they recruits did but i think the girls are equally to blame. They saw money and all senses and caution went to the wind.
hahahaha..they enjoyed each other so what will you do..?

Zambia not yet independent.. DNA to SA and football camping to SA .. How much is spent on foreign solicing??
Spot on – Its all about priorities…add to that the politicians that fly over there for medical treatment!!
Police investigating themselves in Zambia…there is need for an independent police complaints body!!
My bro they cn investigated on da premise of no one z above da law
It’s already there.
Its high time police concntrated on investigating crimes n nt civil matters like violation of virginity n unwanted pregnancies those girls r of age 16 yrs and above if they were minors their parents were going to report the culprits to police for child defilement they cud hv nt waited for them to investigate again da onus z on the parents to sue the culprits thru da local courts to seek compensation.
I am sure there is an age when a child is considered an adult and in Zambia I believe technically one is considered an adult from the age of 18. If this is the case, the police recruits have should be charged with child molestation and the argument that the girls looked older than they looked shouldn’t be entertained. Being trainee law enforcement officers higher standards are expected of them.
Just asking, does anyone recall when police officers camping in limulunga western province were alleged to have made so many girls pregnant at limulunga girls high school, people complained and what was limbongani and his police response? Zeeeeeeeee, said nothing, did nothing about it,is it because that was in barotse
Vitendeni!
law is law wheather u are an officer or not. Let the law take its course.ifyakulya ubushiku fitulikila ku malushi
The image of the police service is at variance with the peoples expectation and trust.
goodness in zambia no 1 is above the law.so i can assure you very soon those folks they will deal with them.
More street kids coming lol!
as long as they did not rape them its ok,then they agreed to enjoy themselves.
Why should the Police investigate instead of the Police Public Complaints Authority?
Elyo reccruit no lupundu kanshi nga apowa awe sure ni one litre! Ifumo kwingila muli one day!
nothing supases live sex,the way to go with sweet 16z
Second last sentence says it all. I blame modern girls and their parents . Children of today can wear clothes that their parents can not afford and these parents cant bother to ask. What do you expect? Children of today have to much freedom and can watch every movie they see . @ these Nigerian films educate a lot . Nosense! How can a child know the relationships which are in the world instead of concentrating on studies.
Stella leave those officers alone. Let the NGO which reported start preparing those girls to go back to school.
great points. While I cannot really understand. We have now massive amount agreements.Hope your further articles
