Newly appointed Southern Province Minister, Daniel Munkombwe, has vowed to ensure the developmental agenda of the Patriotic Front (PF) government is fully implemented with or without the support of the opposition Members of Parliament in the province.

Mr Munkombwe says he wants Southern Province to fully benefit from the developmental agenda of the PF government.

The veteran politician says it is up to the opposition Members of Parliament to either accept to work with the government of the day or not, stressing that what is important for him is to implement the PF manifesto.

Mr Munkombwe, who has described President Michael Sata as a seasoned and intelligent politician who will catapult Zambia to greater heights of development, says he will not be intimidated by any politics of opposition.

Mr Munkombwe was speaking yesterday when outgoing Southern Province Minister, Josephine Limata, officially handed over the office to him at the new provincial administration offices in Choma.

He has urged civil servants in the province to move in tandem with the PF government which he said he is in a hurry to develop this country.

Mr Munkombwe said the PF is a strong political party that cannot be swallowed by any opposition party.

And Ms Limata, who is now Gender Deputy Minister, urged Mr Munkombwe to work towards uniting the people despite the province being an opposition stronghold.

She said she has confidence in Mr Munkombwe as a veteran politician that he will deliver to the expectations of the people.

  1. Munkombwe is so annoying…

this shameless old man it seems has nothing else to do apart from politics of a parasite. Drinking free blood when he never worked for it.

  2. This man is a tragedy! Just when PF made a grand ‘entrance’ in SP,then you appoint Munkombwe to ‘legitimize’ the so called triumph, that’s unbelievably ironical! Its a mistake because the man is not exactly popular in SP as he claims to be. If PF wants to use the Livingstone election as a barometer for Munkombwe’s relevance to SP,then I honestly think and without malice, its a serious miscalculation. The Intelligence should have advised PF on this appointment.

  3. Ndeloleshafye. there is no one else to take the post should it remain vacant? the so called interllectuals( you) are all in diaspora. what do you expect

  4. What PF agenda are you talking about wena old bag Mukombwe? The PF Agenda is to EAT and Munkombwe’s Agenda is also to EAT. So my dear you can push that agenda as hard as possible. We only hope and pray that you will choke on it, foolish gluttony!

  5. THESE ARE OLD BUT SEASONED POLITICIANS. GO MONKOMBWE GO. DEVELOP THAT PROVINCE AND ZAMBIA. LET THE YOUNG MAIN CONTINUE UKUFISHA MUMA TEBELA.

  6. Its high time we stood up for what is right and not let these desperate politicians claim to be talking on our behalf. What development has this old person brought to southern province from his time way back.He has been a minister for quiet some time and honestly there is nothing you can point out as his legacy. He will only be remembered as a political prostitute once he pass on.

  7. I want to become the republican president just to sort out this old thing and then I will resign within a week. It is a psychopath.
