A scheme by former Katuba MP Jonas Shakafuswa to return to Parliament has been exposed.
Mr. Shakafuswa is said to be behind efforts to have current MP Dr Patrick Chikusu expelled from the MMD and thereby cause a bye election which he plans to contest under the UPND.
The scheme is said to be well advanced with MMD Councilors in Katuba including musician Chris Aka and a Mr. Mwachilele who are being used to push Dr. Chikusu out of the party and cause a bye election.
Sources in the MMD revealed that the two councilors have since received hefty kickbacks from Mr. Shakafuswa to facilitate the expulsion of Dr. Chikusu from the MMD.
“What we know is that these Councilors are been used by Shakafuswa to malign Dr. Chikusu and hoping that would result in Dr. Chikusu being fired in order to occasion a bye election in Katuba, he thinks he is still very popular and can win Katuba is a bye election is held,” the source said.
“The councilors have been to the Secretariat to spread falsehood against Dr. Chikusu but our independent investigations as the MMD have shown otherwise, Dr. Chikusu is still committed to the MMD. Chris Aka and his friend are being used by Shakafuswa.”
Further investigations have revealed that Dr. Chikusu feels betrayed by the conduct of the two councilors.
“These councilors are ungrateful, Dr. Chikusu has really helped them so much, for Chris Aka, this is the man who received K 3 million for his ailing music business and a further K 6 million and the man is today stabilising Dr. Chikusu in the back, even Mwachilele should be the last person to betray the good Doctor,” the source added.
When contacted for a comment, Mr. Shakafuswa explained that he has nothing to do with Dr. Chikusu’s problems with the MMD.
“Off course I want to return to Parliament but let Dr Chikusu deal with his own problems and not drag Shaka in it,” he said.

Uyu muzezulu azavuta! I can imagine myself contesting for a parliament sit in Zimbabwe. I agree with ka Mushota, he added some life in the parly with his comical style. Still there is no development in lenje land of Chief Mungule despite being 6 miles only from the capital Lusaka. These MPs simply manipulate the voters, get away with CDF and enrich themselves. This Dr Chikusu cha nsima is also extraodinarily docile. He only mingles with the elite.

Dr. Chikusu is so docile that no one really misses him. I think Shaka was a better MP than this PF surrogate. What is the use of having MPs who dont add any value to their constituencies. Please spare us this embarrassment. Yes Chikusu should go. AKA work hard to remove this dinosaur.

Just wondering what this fake engineering is up to. He is always boasting that he left Zambia long time ago and yet he is strikingly interested in the affairs of Zambia. You guys in the useless diaspora we know the dirty jobs you do and you feel shy coming back because you have nothing. just continue distributing newspapers, washing plates, cleaning the old white people and sleeping in a one room, while us here in Zambia we make money and build mansions. Dr Chikusu worked with RB to hound Shaka out of MMD for supporting Magande, who today would definately be not appearing in court. Looks like a second half encounter. Chikusu cant beat Shaka in Katuba without RB’s major input. Katuba is today a very fast growing constituency. Thanks to Shaka. ask him what he has done to Katuba in the past 1 and half years. Shaka we miss you

Shakafuswa is just a pompous guy who is always rides on his family’s name. He spent most most of the time as M.P. dishing out CDF to his relatives including his wife. He’s a political comedian for sure but then aren’t they all are?
