Gabon Memories Still Fresh Says Kambwili

Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili says memories of the 1993 Gabon Air Disaster are still fresh 20 years after the calamity.

Sunday 28th April, 2013 marks 20 years since the plane carrying the national team plunged into the Atlantic Ocean killing everyone on board.

Reflecting on the 20th anniversary, Kambwili repeated that the victims of the disaster have left an indelible mark on the country.

” It is important that we commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Gabon Disaster.

“Memories of those who have done tremendous works in life will always be fresh,” he said.

  1. release the gabon disaster report now, so that we all know what led to that fatal accident.

  2. Why is it that twenty years after the dreadful disaster,, which claimed the lives of so many great people, we are still awaiting the publication of the official report on the accident ? Surely the families of the fallen heroes deserve better treatment than this. Shame on the successive governments responsible for this.

  3. IMWE NAIMWE FIMBI MULELABAKO FYE! 20 YEARS STILL CRYING!

DON’T U KNOW IT IS APPOINTED ONCE FOR EVERY MAN TO DIE AND THEREAFTER, THE JUDGEMENT!

  4. The Gabon Disaster report will implicate among others, your REVERAND SHIKAPWASHA, who was Air force Commander at the time, BEN MWILA (who was Defence Minister), and the late FJT. There is conspiracy theory in this, the reason why they all keep shaming release of the report.
The Lord watches over his own, BY lost 2 of his Children last year and may be catastrophic if these Individuals do not just own up. The spirit of the Fallen Heroes have not rested!

  5. no amount of rhetoric will dissuade us from demanding the Gabon disaster report. We want to know what caused the accident.
This matter will only rest once the full report is made available to the public

  6. Shame on our successive governments for not releasing the Gabon report. After twenty years the families and loved ones of the victims of the Gabon disaster deserve so much better.
