Chris Katongo jets in

Zambia’s foreign-based callups are complete as Herve Renard oversaw Tuesday training with a full house ahead of Saturdays 2014 World Cup Group D qualifier against Lesotho in Ndola.

And strikers Collins Mbesuma and Jacob Mulenga sat out this afternoons training.

In training on Tuesday was the China -based duo of James Chamanga and Christopher Katongo from Liaoning Whowin and Henan Jianye respectively.

The duo joined camp on Monday night.
Also in came are midfielder Nathan Sinkala and defender Hichani Himonde of TP Mazembe also joined the team on Monday.

The quartet was part of both morning and afternoon training at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

However, Mbesuma and Mulenga joined midfielder Rainford Kalaba on the sidelines in the afternoon although the duo are said to be nursing minor knocks.

  1. First fire the P.E teacher Renard, then bench this division 2 player. Then we can talk football.

  2. Chris Katongo should rest, we have been having exciting training so far without him.

    • Katongo and chamanga should be benched. They act as amapulanga

  3. Ka Mushota! atl numbala wanu, kekekeke! my most controversial compatriot, so you have been keeping tabs on LT. hehe.
Anyway, welcome home chris we need every man available for this one guys. please qualify quickly so i can apply for leave , mwe bantu!

  4. Too bad Jacob and Mbesuma if they are injured, coz thoz two are key members of this team as already Kalaba is oredy out!! As for Chris, is he coming for the WTO conference or to give support to Zambia? that i dont know… Tooooo selfish and finished madala….. Sate Sate would have made a difference mweeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

  5. Thanks Katongo for coming to join us the rest of supporters, we need every supporter available to win this game.

  6. Stoopid #1 who never misses pa nsaka! You are a reflection of uko wafuma koswe.

  7. Miss the days when the heading in Times and Daily mail would read “Kalu and Charlie jet in”. As soccer fans we knew what kind of entertainment to expect at Independence Stadium. For sure gone are the glory days. Now the so called professionals cannot deliver apart from the fluke Afcon. Now we have to worry about beating Lesotho when we used to be Kings of soccer in Southern Africa. Anyway good luck Chipolopolo.

    • NOT FORGETTING JOHNSTONE BWALYA (MY FAVOURITE), LUCKY MSIKA AND MARKSMAN STONE NYIRENDA.

    • That is the paradox of life. Back in the days the players you mentioned really brought euphoria to this country. Despite all the fan fare that characterized their time, they brought no trophy though. When history is eventually written Christopher katongo and company are highly likely to occupy a chapter longer than that our revered heroes because they delivered the AfCON, never mind how.
In the recent past soccer fans have hurled all manner of invectives at Christ. Personally I feel that is misplaced. Granted, Christ may not be at his peak but why not blame Herve “Learner” the Coach, who despite noticing the dip in form he still insists that he plays?
I, too, wish the lads the best against Lesotho.

  8. MUSHOTA I thought you were a hit but I lost confidence in you when you talked truth just the other day. You are devoid of knowledge and try too hard to be part of the Zambian intelligent brainiacs. Why do you speak before you think? We Zambians are damn smart, beyond PhD which you claim to be aspiring for. Can’t remember what you said but it was out of your other end. Shuddap girl- friend.
