Fired Patriotic Front (PF) Southern Province Political Secretary Brian Hapunda has denied accusations of fraudulent activities levelled against him leading to his sacking by President Michael Sata.
In a telephone interview with QFM News today, Hapunda said that all the accusations against him are the work of his enemies within the party who were not happy when President Sata appointed him as provincial political Secretary.
Mr. Hapunda said that he never went round collecting monies from companies and business houses in the name of the President and that of PF Secretary General, Wynter Kabimba.
He said that he does not regret making the PF known to Southern Province considering that it was one of the strongholds for the opposition UPND but that now the PF is able to compete firmly with the UPND.
Mr Hapunda has called on Members of Parliament in Southern Province to closely work with the ruling PF in order to develop the area.
He has further pledged his loyalty to the ruling Patriotic Front.
yesterday PF sources indicated that President Michael Sata had fired Brian Hapunda as Southern Province Provincial Political Secretary.
Mr Hapunda’s dismissal was in connection with activities in which he has been collecting money from parastatal and other organisations in the name of the president.
The PF recently wrote to Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani to asking the police to investigate reports that some party officials in Livingstone were going round extorting money from business organisations using the name of the party and the President.

I wish to thank His Excellence President Michael Chilufya Sata for having had appointed me to serve him and the Ruling Patriotic Front – PF as PF Political Secretary for Southern Province, a position I held for 1 year 5 months until Revocation of my Employment by the President on 30th July, 2013.
My appointment by the President as PF Southern Province Political Secretary at a tender age of 29 years goes to show the confidence the President has in young people in Zambia and his willingness to work side by side with young people to govern this Country.
I wish to urge my fellow young people in Zambia to come forth and continue to support the able Patriotic Front Party and his Excellence President Michael Chilufya Sata who is so passionate about the plight of the young people and general Citizenary in our Nation.
Young people are the leaders of today and tomorrow hence need not waste time on unprogressive Political Parties which mean nothing to them!
As young people, we must work under senior Citizen Politicians/leaders so as to get the much needed leadership skills needed for National leadership.
Due to the close working relationship I shared with the President, I describe him as a loving father, seasoned and visionary Politician who knows exactly the needs of its citizens and is driving this Country in the right direction.
Going forward, I wish to categorically state that I will remain a loyal member of the Patriotic Front – PF and support fully His Excellence President Michael Chilufya Sata and his able style of leadership.
I will continue to work for my Party in Southern Province as an ordinary Member of PF so as to strengthen the Party in the Province. I will continue with my Party mobilisation programmes in Southern Province working under various Party structures.

To Sata and Kabimba all these UPND boys are just toys that he is playing with. He actually wants to ruin their political carriers before it begins. In the first instance his position of “Provincial Political Secretary” is not provided for in the Zambian civil service. This position existed under UNIP. So, the man was illegally chewing tax payers’ money. It was another of the many illegal things Sata has done since 2011. PF seemingly picked up an old UNIP constitution dusted it and reintroduced it was their own. That is why they even call their EXCO “Central Committee” and its members “MCCs” which are terms used by UNIP.

There is nothing special about being given an illegal position at age 29. The history of Zambia will show you that many others before you attained higher political heights (and elected) at much younger ages. Examples with positions held at the time in brackets: V.J. Mwaanga (Ambassador), late Rabson Chongo (MP), Njekwa Anamela (MP), Kazala Laskey (MP), etc.

It happened to kaponyas over land that they have been selling in Lusaka, one day MCS woke up and gave a directive that all PF cadres selling land should be locked up. Speaking well of PF will not keep you from the jail if you are guilty and your enemies as you call them should have some evidence against you.
