Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba has warned PF officials allegedly holding clandestine campaigns for the party presidency that Kasama and Northern Province in general would be a no-go area for them. Mr. Mwamba, who is Defence Minister, announced the PF in Kasama Central Constituency have launched campaigns for President Sata ahead of the 2016 general elections.
Addressing PF officials drawn from wards and constituency level, Mr. Mwamba said he was happy that PF officials in his area have resolved to give 100 per cent support to President Sata in the next presidential election in 2016.
He said President Sata must be allowed to serve two-five-year-term of office as Head of State before the ruling party could think of replacing him at the helm of the party.
“What I have found here (Kasama) is that we have endorsed President Sata’s candidature for 2016 presidential elections. And so, who am I to oppose your decision? As your MP, I have also endorsed the candidate of his Excellency President Michael Sata for the presidency in the next general elections” Mr. Mwamba said.
He stated that PF in Kasama Central Constituency has since commenced campaigns for President Sata as time for the next general elections was fast approaching.
Mr. Mwamba urged party members not to entertain individuals campaigning for the PF presidency in their area.
“Is it normal for anyone in the party to start talking about the PF presidency when incumbent President is still leading the nation and has the mandate to run for two terms in office? If there is anyone in our party harbouring presidential ambitions let them stop now because we will not tolerate him or her,” he said.
Mr. Mwamba observed that President Sata has only served for close to two years and should not be distracted from his vision of developing the nation by selfish people who to replace as party president.
Mr. Mwamba praised party officials in Kasama Central Constituency for their bravely in endorsing President Sata’s sole candidature in the 2016 presidential election.
“Let us give President Sata time to rule this country without him thinking of destructive elements within the party. We elected him to run the nation and needs to serve the two-five year mandate in office without any disturbances. And as such, no one should cheat oneself that they can challenge President Sata for the presidency. Those who dare the party should take a leaf from what happened to Rupiah Banda (former president).” Mr. Mwamba said.
He warned that any party members found engaging in clandestine activities aimed at discouraging people from supporting President Sata and his government that the general membership of the party would deal with firmly.
“Therefore, nobody should cheat themselves that they contest the party presidency against President Sata because no one will especially from Kasama and Northern Province as whole,” Mr. Mwamba warned.
He explained that the PF was still a popular party in the country and urged party members to continue supporting the Government for it deliver development to the nation.
And Mrs. Chama Mwamba urged women to be in the fore-front in supporting the candidate of President Sata in 2016 presidential and general election.
Mr. Mwamba said President Sata is a veteran politics, who always emphasizes the need for party leaders to be contact touch with the people at grass-root level.
“I know that even in my sleep I think of you because I owe something special to you. It is about the money but just the regular interaction among ourselves as members of one party. I will never forsake you as Member of Parliament,” Mr. Mwamba said.
He urged party officials to not listen people who want to sow seeds of discontent in the ruling party by engaging in clandestine activities.
“President Sata spent 10 years in the opposition. It is therefore illogical for anyone to plot to dislodge him from the party presidency when he still has years to rule this country.”
He advised those campaigning for the party presidency to immediately stop or risk facing serious consequences from the general PF membership.
“I am happy that we are talking the same language as to who should be our party president for 2016.” Therefore, we have started the campaigns for President Sata as party president in the next presidential election,” he said.
And speaking at the function, Kasama Central Constituency chairperson Abraham Mulenga said party members were geared to start campaigning for President Sata ahead of the 2016 general elections.
He thanked Mr. Mwamba for convening a meeting with party officials at grass-root level, saying the move had helped to cement the unity of purpose in the ruling party.
Mr. Mulenga however appealed to area MP to source for resources for party mobilization such as vehicles to easy mobility of party members during campaigns.

And all of a sadden we hear Summer busy warning party cadres in Livingstone yesterday then, today Garbage Buying Maize is also busy warning party cadres in Kasama.
Does that tell us something? Is our one and only Ukwa okay?

The PF’s home-brew own wrangle started with Kabimba who accused his colleagues of being traitors within their party. The truth is that Kabimba is actually one of the unsettled politician because the Benalubemba ignored Sata and appointed Chief Mwamba as their new Paramount Chief Chitimukulu. Kabimba’s “traitors” song were meant to gain a Presidential credit by linking GBM to the appointment of the new Chitimukulu.
GBM is on the forefront to discredit Kabimba’s selfish presidential ambitions. Observers are puzzled as to how Kabimba can ascend to the Presidency at the exclusion of the peoples of Northern and Luapula Province the stronghold of PF. Interesting scenario indeed.
