The Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) presidency has dismissed as usual rhetoric the announcement by Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda that the Patriotic Front (PF) government has created more three hundred thousand jobs from the year 2011 to-date.
MMD presidential Spokesperson Muhabi Lungu says this is because the government has not presented any proof that the said jobs have actually been created.
Mr. Lungu says if the PF is to convince the people in the country about the existence of the said job, it has to provide concrete proof by showing in which sectors the said jobs have been created.
He notes that the creation of any jobs in the country should also be traced to a particular source of employment with further proof of Pay As You Earn tax receipts to employees whose jobs have been referred to as those created by the PF government.
MMD don’t you know that the day Eflon Lungu was being fired each minister had something say, they wanted to show the president that they were working hence all sorts of pronoucements

the reason for not seeing corresponding increase in the revenue through PAYE is because the jobs that have been created are low paying and are basically short term in nature or projects.

Jobs created by Government means that people will have to pay more taxes in order to finance the new salaries.GRZ jobs are a drain on National resources.When jobs are created by private sector,the country’s development is assured and the GDP improves.PF should merely provide an enabling environment in which the private sector can flourish and hence job creation will be real.

Read through the report budget report. There is always a revenue attributed to PAYE. How did your lecturers at the two Kaponya Universities you attended explain how that figure is arrived at?
My friend let me break it down for you, this is nothing to do personal confidential salaries, this is everything to do with firms that deduct the money from your pay slip and send it to ZRA. These are the figures we are asking for.
Show us that in 2011, this was total received by ZRA as PAYE and in 2013 it is this figure and growth is due to these jobs. That is what we are asking. Is that to complex to ask?

Did you know that the PAYE that is remitted to ZRA by employers gets receipted by ZRA? Think of PAYE as income to the government that is receipted then you will understand Muhabi`s urguement.You can`t beat Muhabi at it its his field of specialisation so he knows very well what he is talking about.the task id for GRZ to make claims that is support beyond reasonable doubt. For now the jobs created theory should supported by an equal growth in PAYE and NAPSA or pension contributions.

If there’s one area the PF government has failed, is the area of Job creation. You can’t say you’ve created jobs by creating temp jobs (road constructions). 5. More districts – means more staff

I agree to the fact that the PF GRZ has created jobs. If I may ask those who say PF is lying:
1. have the roadworks on Mbala/Nakonde, Matumbo/Chama, the 8 000km project among others taken off?
2. Is infrastructure in the new districts being built?
Are the proposed new Universities being built? I nkow that the one in Chinsali is near completion
3. Are Doctors and nurses being recruited?
If the answer to these questions is ‘yes’, the PF has created employment because these projects do not work themselves.
