Two girls burnt to ashes in Kamanga compound after house goes on fire

Two female children aged between eight and five were yesterday burnt to ashes after their mother left a burning candle and went to Kamanga market to buy Panadol.

The incident occurred around 23:00 hours at unknown house number in Kamanga Compound.

The bodies of the deceased are lying in U.T.H. mortuary awaiting postmortem.

In a related development, Police on the Copperbelt have arrested a woman identified as Ruth Nafukwe for allegedly setting ablaze a glass thatched house.

The incident occurred on 20th August, 2013 at around 13:20 hours at house number C95 Kawama East.

It is believed that the couple had marital disputes which lead to the woman setting on fire a house and properties worth about K930.00 where destroyed.

In Lusaka, a man identified as Newton Demuna was found lying unconscious in his vehicle while parked at Levy business park opposite Zesco workshop, after been picked he was taken to the Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The incident occurred yesterday at around 17:00 hours.

He was found in a motor vehicle registration number AAZ8013 Toyota Camry with some food which have been taken for tests by police to help ascertain his death.

Meanwhile, in Eastern Province, police have launched a man hunt for Magayi Phiri of Mphamba village in Chipata who is alleged to be behind the murder of Lameck Banda aged 21 of the same address after the two differed over a piece of chicken at a drinking spree where they were drinking beer from.

    I don’t understand the second crime, a woman set fire to a GLASS THATCHED HOUSE? Did you mean GRASS?

  2. Sad news. Nearly as sad is the reporting. Ati ‘ in related development’. How can the two incidents be related when one was in Lusaka and the other on the Copperbelt?

  3. May their souls rest in eternal peace. But ba LT, first you write that the girls were “burnt to ashes” then a sentence later your write that “their bodies are laying in UTH.” Am I the only one finding the two statements to be incongruent?
