The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) says government’s silence on the findings of the Rodger Chongwe led commission of inquiry on the Barotseland agreement of 1964 is a source of concern to the citizenry.
FODEP Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi said government has the moral obligation to get back to the citizenry and reveal the findings of the commission of inquiry.
Mr. Chipenzi noted that it is significant for government to get back to the Zambian people and explain where it has challenges in implementing the findings.
He said the silence and total disregard of the people’s feelings on the findings of the Commission of Inquiry is disappointing.
Mr. Chipenzi said it is unfortunate that all the findings of Commissions of inquiry have remained a mystery.
But when contacted for a comment Justice Minister Winter Kabimba told Qfm News that those calling on government to make public the findings of the Rodger Chongwe led commission of inquiry should write to him instead of doing so through the media.
[QFM]
how many letters does this fool want to receive from all of us citizens………..just make an announcements on the findings fullstop
I feel like throwing up every time I hear about Barotse blah blah blah
Thanks
Daniel Mwamba (Mushota) you are an id.i.ot to have clicked on the article. No one forced you, batty boy!
Frosty. Frosty responses.
The Writings on the Wall are vivid for All to see ! We have a leadership with questionable abilities, if at all this recklessness is any close to leadership principles.
Yes! FODEP you are now talking, Going forward!! that baroste commission of inquiry must be made public… and a fair debate must be opened on the same,,, if you understand what oneness is and living as one.. otherwise let baroste to split
hehehehe, ba winter nabo balaimona atini, what is wrong with inquiring through the media.
Can someone man up and tell the Barotses that there will be no cutting off land anytime soon…. Why do people like mary go round? It is plain simple… just say no one is dividing this region whether your father was the first one to arrive or not.
@cindy
This is the point, i have been trying to tell you. No cutting off baroste or cutting is not an issue here! Secrecy and mistry can be bad, that present a chance of mis information,, ,, some one must man up, bring out those hinden papers, those inqury finding and encourage a health debate,, most important assure everyone that they are equal zambians.. so that everyone feels zambia one nation again like in KK time!!
This issue of hind and seek, and bully people will not make the problem go away!!..
Leaderships must to raise to the occassion .. and inspiring all zambians, and everyone must feel as an equal zambian regardless of political stand or tribe
@ Ndobo,
This topic is self explainatory…. there will never be a country called Barotseland, only in patients heads( sorry if i sound too brutal) but thats the reality the sooner people get this in their heads the better.
As for the promises, papers signed whatever, that is just c*****p, too bad people were duped during campaigns but that happens in any game, if they bought it well……. they just have to live with that painful illusion, otherwise, this topic is rather tidious every second of it, let people realise that politicians tell things they dont mean, so they need to suck it up and move on period!
I rest my case,,i understand your stand point, but you dont understand what is fair, justice and peace for the sake oneness,, those 90days lies are nothing but minior in the whole issue,,
And besides under kaunda even if he was dictator, everyone in zambia felt as one because he inspired everyone to feel proudly zambian… why is it different now? why the tribe calling now?
The government is afraid of the truth. Legally the government is standing on shaky ground with their jelly feet!
Wynter Kabimba is so full of himself to a level wher people have now started perceiving him as an id.iot. It is this foo.lish behaviour that has led to many people’s downfal and Kabimba will ot be an exception. This arrogance does not build but it destroys. It depends what Kabimba wants – to build himself or destroy himself.
We also want to know how much money was chewed on this and the other commissions.
The govt is a representative of us citizens (or subjects?). That report was not for the public servants only. It was for Zambians. What did you find out?
The way the Minister talks, you would think the Zambian people whom he is supposed to serve are his servants. Look at the life of Christ, or even Solomon. Solomon referred to the people as “…the people you (God) have chosen, great people….” 1 Kins 3:8.
Please know your role, Minister. You are not our master. That includes the opposition. They are citizens. That is why you as govt accept their tax. By the way, that includes the Lozi speaking people of Western Zambia.
The govt must act fast and put an end to this problem. Now we have two govts operating simultaneously in one territory! One might be in hiding but a govt nonetheless. Whether the declaration as a sovereign independent Barotseland was illegal or not we have no way of knowing because the parties involved choose to play it close to their chest. Did the govt abrogate the agreement?
water running under the bridge. The report has been over taken by events. Its now irelevant .Lozis have aready gone, lets accept and live with it ‘by reversion’. it will take another B N C to reverse the previous resolution which might not be possible.it seems the lozis are far ahead and we have become reactive to all they do and follow way behind..
which tribe is Winter Kabimba before we throw tantrums?
No dont talk about tribe just throw him away he is useless. He is also untrainable, use man, a donkey but a donkey knows its owner, he is worse than evil and the devil.
Typical of PF to remain silent on matters important national matters! Thumbs up FODEP!
Ichikalipa chumfw’ o mwine. It’s easier to call others names when things are going well with you. The Barotse issue is deliberately being ignored and the Lozis are called all sorts of names, but honestly, if Zambia means well, why not call for serious and honest dialogue or even renegotiate? The truth is that Zambia erred by unilaterally abrogating the agreement. This issue will never die a natural death. It will keep on haunting the govt. Arresting and/or killing people just encourages the so called activists more angry and resilient to their cause. How many people do you want to kill (whether through a barrel of a gun or by hanging) for you to be satisfied? Honestly, these people are fed and want their land. The truth is this revolution is growing. One day, Barotseland will be free!
@Cindy,you seem to have the results of the commission, tell us then! your anger and outbursts doesn’t help.FODEP is only asking government to make the findings public.Ndobo tried to reason with you but you decided not to see light from his words.debate with reason not emotions! thanks
I support the Government. Sometimes it’s better to keep quiet unless you have a solution.
bushe y don’t u lozi pipo wake up whether u speak thru the media or wat nothin wil work out for coz u ar just wasting your time&money
Silence means you know something. But barotseland you are in Zambian Gaza just shut up and be kwa hae kuyocha bu hobe wa litapi ya ndombe.politics has no rules.its not a government mandate to talk about you every day.If Kaunda didn’t talk,Chiluba wasn’t talking, Levy failed to talk, A sukulu a Lupiya even laughed about the fuss. now how can ukwa speak?oooh you are thinking of campagn promises, aahh that was just a political abracadabra formulae of winning votes. Think iwe Zambezi crocodile you are now in Zambia so you cant feel the copala swag?
