Arrows pierce Warriors

Red Arrows moved into fourth place on the FAZ Super Division table after thumping visiting Kabwe Warriors 2-0 in a delayed Week 18 match in Lusaka on Wednesday.

First half goals by Stanley Nshimbi and Danny Sibanda propelled Arrows to the win at Nkoloma Stadium.

Nshimbi opened the scoring on 24th minute before Sibanda doubled Arrows’ lead 18 minutes later.

George Lwandamina’s team is now on 27 points, seven less than leaders Zesco United who have played two more games.

Warriors are stuck in nineth place on 23 points.

The two teams drew 1-1 in the first leg tie played on 6 April in Kabwe.

  1. It was a splendid performance by Arrows. Bruce Musakanya was a marvel to watch. Kudoas to Worriors keeper who did a marvelous job to keep the scorline decent, otherwise it would have been a cricket scoreline.

  2. Consistently inconsistently aptly describes the performance of Warriors. After flirting with a string of poor performances Warriors, the other weekend, embarrassed the Tenant Chilumba tutored Power by scoring 3 unanswered goals. From that performance I was persuaded to believe things were getting better. How wrong I was.
At this stage where men are separated from boys on the log, Warriors will need to improve immensely in their game. Anything short of that will see the team relegated all over again to division one.
