Chintu joins camp

Defender Chintu Kampamba became the first foreign based player to join the Chipolopolo squad which entered camp in South Africa on Thursday.

Kampamba of South African National First Division side Roses United joined six local players who arrived in Johannesburg from Lusaka on Thursday.

Zambia is preparing for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Ghana in Kumasi on 6 September.

“We started camp with Chintu ,Kondwani ,Bruce ,Bronson ,Munthali ,Joshua and Danny,” a source within camp said.

More players are expected to join the squad as Zambia’s training camp enters day two.

Renard’s team must beat the Black Stars to reach the final stage of the 2014 World Cup qualifying round.

  1. Go and give them a hiding at their backyard, they are too cocky with an inflated self-confidence. You have my blessing. Don’t come back nelya kwa namungwa.

    • Why don’t you be honest to yourself, which away match have your chipolopolo won in this qualifier? none and your are saying you will beat Ghana in their own home (an away for Zambia) you must be dreaming big time! forget the world cup Zambia, you missed the bus when you throw away the free 3 points that gave you the lead in this group. Ghana has fought hard to get here and we’re not ready to relinquish the lead like you did so sorry you are out!

  2. Good luck boys, we are behind you owez….in defeat and in victory we still remain Zambians

  3. Zambia must win this game.We have won the Afcon.Nothing like home ground advantage. Its already done.Brazil here we come. God bless Zambia

  4. As long we utilise the players in their natural positions & don’t keep quality players on the bench at the expense of taka takas, we shall prevail come may. My 1st half line up: Mweene, nkausu, musonda, sunzu, kampamba-a leader on the pitch, sinkala, kalaba, katongo, Mulenga Jacob, Kola rodgers. Mayuka super killer sub, on resumption of the 2nd half.

  5. For the biggest test was Ivory Coast in the final with all the Arsenal, find time to watch that game, it was the best final, Chipolopolo gave them punch for punch.

Ghana is no match for us, at least they know. we have met them 9 times, beaten them 5 times against 4 ( 1 of their win was firiendly in London in which Chipolopolo used some Zambian students in UK becoz they could not meet the numbers)

    Ghana azaliranso

  6. Why arriving so early when the clubs will be playing on saturday and sunday? It shows that he is not important for his team or is clubless

  7. I doubt that he ll make the final squad. All the best to the SQUAD. Everything and anything is possible in soccer. I think CAF should look at the qualifying fixtures seriously next time. Zambia deserve to to be at the world cup. Ghana has not won the Africa cup in many years. Zambia though, will have ourselves to blame for not qualifying this time around.
