Arrows show Nkana class

Share

Red Arrows made big jump from sixth to third after 1-0 win over Nkana at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Wednesday.

The first half started off brightly for Nkana who had a great chance in the 36th minute through Festus Mbewe missed when he headed his effort wide.

However, the second period was all Arrows as striker Stanley Nshimbi kept Nkana’s defence busy throughout.

Nshimbi was unlucky not to find the target in the 65th minute when his fine curling shot hit the woodwork.

Arrows persistence paid off in the 90th minute when Captain Richard Phiri stomped in the ball in a goalmouth melee to stun a packed Nkoloma Stadium whose voice failed to fuel Nkana to another vital win.

  1. Nkana supporters should stop using the word “devil” in their songs. Imagine sam1 singing “let’s go devil let’s go”. They cldnt win bcoz the has no power. Lol!

    • When Nkana were at their peak and won several titles and cups , they were called “Nkana Red Devils”. Then some Christian administrators came in and brought in Bishop Nwaka as the club chaplain. Prayers were introduced in Nkana Red Devils change rooms and the word “devil” was dropped from the name. The team became Nkana Football club. From that time Nkana lost its winning ways and was eventually demoted. Why?? The winning devil was kicked out of Nkana!
Now that we have started shouting “devil devil” Nkana has started winning again! The club must now come back to its real name ” Nkana Red Devils” !!!!!

  2. Wats up with you lusaka times: ‘Arrows show Nkana class’, what nonsense! i thought we were beaten 4 – 0 yet it was just aka 1 nil with a goal scored in the 90th minute. Just a minor setback aba red baleisa. It was just fatigue by the boys

  3. Aeisa Aeisa the chaps failed to come. I now understand why Renard does not pick this chap sate sate he has nothing to show. Viva Arrows.
