Madagascar anniliate Zambia U19 rugby team

Zambia on Wednesday kicked off its campaign at the 2014 Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Under-19 1B tournament in Uganda with a humiliating 43-0 loss to Madagascar.

Madagascar took a 36-0 lead into the half time break in this tournament opener played at Kyandondo Rugby Club.’

The Philip Dongo coached Zambian side trailed 7-0 few minutes after the first whistle with Jean Claude Rakotomandimby scoring a try that was converted by Rasolonirnia.

Vanquished Zambia will now seek solace on Saturday when they face Senegal in the third-place play-off.

Senegal are also wounded after losing to hosts Uganda 23-12 on the first day of the CAR U-19 1B competition.

The winner of this four-nation tournament will be promoted to CAR U-19 1A and the last will be relegated to CAR U-19 1C.

The CAR U-19 Africa Cup was inaugurated in 2003.
