Veteran coach and ex-Zambia captain Dickson Makwaza says a local senior coach should be brought in to help Honour Janza.
Makwaza told The Zambia Daily mail that he agreed with sports minister Chishimba Kambwili’s call last week for FAZ to hire a senior coach to help Janza in the 2015 Africa Cup qualifiers.
“I said it when the young man was appointed that he needed to be assisted by a senior coach,” the 1974 star said.
“You don’t need an expatriate to come and tell you that Dickson is old.
“We are letting the supporters and the nation down by not doing the right thing.”
Interim Zambia coach Janza heads to Niger this Saturday in search of his first competitive win in the 2015 Group F qualifiers.
Zambia has one point from two games played and are third in Group F and five points behind leaders Cape Verde who beat chipolopolo 2-1 on match-day-two on September 10.
Mozambique and Niger and second and bottom on two and one point respectively.
I even feel sorry for Janza… the guy has no carisma or sense of happiness. However is a GENTLEMAN who should be the Team Manager (organising trips and allowance etc).
FAZ should humble alittle and ask RB to hunt a coach for them… KCM will pay salary again.
The empty suit Galu at FAZ will not allow any outsider to come in…he wants to carry on not paying staff allowances and not signing contracts…. pocketing funds as they are his puppets.
Bring HR again , it seems it works well for him in Zambia, in IVC he has problems beaten 4-0 by kameluni, we can as well ask KINAH PHIRI from malawi to help JANZA, WHEN we are saying we are heading to NIGER ON SATURDAY it means we FLY ON SATAURDAY? hhmmmm…koma the beauty with Zambians they dont learn from past mistakes like CVD TRIP, voting for PF etc
Abakulu ba nchito bamyeba politely….. that Chansa should be an assistant to a real coach. He has no experience. Dickson Makwaza for you little babies was Zambia National Team captain and central defender for 10 years. He was from Mighty in the days when Mighty was glorious.
It is very clear that the national team coach does not command any confidence in the government and the senior or veteran coaches in zambia. Let him be replaced immediately.
The tendency of appointing personal acquaintances to national duty has seriously eroded confidence and disastrous results follow in many governance institutions including football. As long as Janza will remain at the helm of the national team, we should as well bid farewell to the AFCON.
