ACTING President Guy Scott has urged Zambians to conduct themselves in a respectful and honourable manner during the burial of President Sata.
Dr Scott said in an interview at his farm in Lusaka yesterday that there are a lot of foreign visitors and very important people attending President Sata’s burial and it is right for all citizens to behave in a respectful manner.
“We have many foreign visitors and VIPs arriving, and it will be right that we show them that we can mourn our late President, and put him to rest with peace, honour and respect befitting the man, and befitting our beloved and great nation,” he said.
Dr Scott thanked Zambians for the spirit of unity and peace that has been observed in the run-up to the burial of President Sata.
He also said that the Patriotic Front (PF) at national level will not pay for the officials to travel to Lusaka to attend President Sata’s burial.
“Those who are funded from a local level, or indeed who fund themselves, should go to National Heroes Stadium.
No one without a ticket for Embassy Park should try to go there after the mass,” Dr Scott said.
He also said the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs is co-ordinating attendance for traditional leaders.
President Sata will be buried at Lusaka’s Embassy Park tomorrow.
And PF secretary general Edgar Lungu has called on party members to accommodate all mourners.
Mr Lungu said mourners drawn from across political, religious and other divides must be allowed to peacefully mourn President Sata.
He said this in a statement yesterday.
“I wish to advise fellow mourners in the PF and the general public that we have a national and provincial mourning programme which must be respected,” Mr Lungu, who is also Minister of Defence and Minister of Justice, said.
“We need to be mindful that not all our people can travel to Lusaka. I wish to encourage PF members and the general public that Government has designated centres as mourning points,” he said.
He also thanked all PF members and the general public for the support during this difficult time.
Zambians have being conducting themselves very respectively from the day Ba Sata died. No one tried to shake Ba Sata during body-viewing, why can someone start imagining that burial can be something so emotional?
It is Guy Scott & Edgar Lungu who should respect themselves, and not fight over the speech.
What Dr Scott is saying should be noted by every obeying citizen, political party membership aside and whether Sata was divulsive.
The fact of the matter is that, respect should be upheld, no matter ones political affiliation and therefore after the burial, let the drums begin.
The country has moved from 90 days money in your pockets to 90 days by elections, the skeletons of Donchi Kubeba goes into effect.
Dr Scott should have been more specific about the violence, its only been the PF who have been involved in leadership wrangles and cadres unpatriotic violence of Scott this, Edgar that, Kabimba those and GBM with those!? They are a same crop, PF, party of violence and hooliganism.
Next time Dr Scott, be specific like an enzyme.
The Skeleton Key

You mean Zambians have to be told how to behave? They have no common sense?
Guy Scott, the only risk to peace is you and your unruly PF cadres. The rest of us have been mourning our departed president with dignity and respect he deserves.
Here are some of the lies PF told people ;
1. Sata was not sick but was fit as a fiddle.
2. Farmers will be paid within 2 weeks after delivering maize.
3. Cheap meali meal and yet the opposite has happened.
4. More more in your pockets and yet there is less money in people ‘s pockets due to high cost of living.
5. PF removed subsidies to save money for projects and yet PF is broke and have failed to honour payment for 75% of the local road contractors.
6. Lied to nurses that they will get 200% wage increase and yet only got 4% and when they tried to protest, they were fired.
7. PF told people that load shedding and water shortages will a thing of the past, and yet it has increased under PF.
8. PF gave plots to people illegally and then decided to demolish their houses with out…
Dust to dust ashes to ashes! God’s will has be done until we hopefully meet again in a just Kingdom where tribe is not a qualification for a job. Out of 58 PF central committee members I only count a handful who are not Bemba speaking people. What an imbalance! See you on judgement day where all will be brought to justice. Foreign mission officers please start packing your bags. The bread winner as bitten the dust. Come and see how tough it is on the other side. Death mwe! it’s a great leveller.
EDGAR LUNGU TRYING TO CAMPAIGN BIG TIME HE HAS FORGOTEN THAT HE JUST MADE A UTURN OVER THE CONSTITUTION OPPOSING WHAT HE HAD SAID BARELY A DAY AFTER BEING GIVEN THE POST OF SG,UZAKAULA,AS FOR SHUT UP OLDMAN YOU ARE THE ONE MAKING CONFUSSION
Good bye micheal sata . its all respect our president micheal sata.
what respect did sata had the respect to zambians he fired unrses and said to more money inyour pockets he lied to the nation why close the roads why him when school died about 34 you did not close the roads what so special the about him than 34 jubilee childern that died this government must be faire all are people.
Scott and RB can suck on my bottom in full force and have my brownish disposals for supper; these chicalas are full of lies; evans mfula at evaduco reporting live from lusaka
Mr Scott
Tell that to yourself and your PF party members. You and your party have singularly dishonored the funeral of the late President. Do not insult the Zambian people like this. Every Zambian other than you in the PF has given the late President’s funeral the respect and honor it deserves.
Level your tone… The President is addressing every Zambian regardless of which party you belong to, PF included. There is no logic in always living in the past. The last week’s confusion in the ruling party is over and buried. Life must go on and so the ruling party should continue to govern. Why can’t you just jack up campaigning for your hh so that he can improve his votes….to test for 2016 general fimo-fimo? Quite a test is n’t it?
It should start with you Mr Acting President. You and your SG should start acting old guys before the masses follows your advice. Otherwise, Zambians will conduct themselves well not because you have said something but because that is one of their characterisic.
You monks who did E110, what is the difference between acting and interim? Is Guy Scott an interim President?
The Spelling!! You should take up E110 wamvela??
Zambians are generally known for their high degree of tolerance, respect and humbleness. I therefore find it very disturbing for politicians to continuously remind Zambians to respect themselves during the Sata’s burial. Zambians have had no basic services like water, electricity and roads and yet they have never taken to the streets to demonstrate like our brothers here in South Africa. I have just learnt that 75% of small scale farmers who delivered farm produce/maize to FRA haven’t been paid up to now and they are patiently waiting and not demonstrating. Please stop insulting Zambians by reminding them to behave. It is the government through its leadership which has already gone into campaign mode that should be reminded to behave during Sata’s burial
But what about after burial bwana Scott ? Does this mean we’ll go back to the violent campaign culture introduced by your reckless PF?
Mr acting president, the biggest threat we have in our midst is the pangas or machetes in the hands of PF cadres. When will these be cleared off the system?
Am on my way to Zambia to witness the burial of the great President King Cobra MC Sata. Am leading a 10 man delegation of high profiled dignitaries. I will be touching down at KK International Airport Monday evening.
Ba Guy, your time to be linked with these PF is almost over. MHSRP, late Sata protected you and kept you busy to make you happy but the PF thugs awaiting to throw you outside after the many petitions of you not being qualified to act as an acting President for this transition period.
I can predict a show down and people pulling each by the nake ties in the central committee meeting.The out come will be a general conference were GBM or Winter will come out as winner.Chikwanda may pull a surprise.After the general conference PF will come out divided and tired to put a campaign based on lies anymore.God will blind their eyes and they will loose wisdom as they will spend time fighting scott and father distublising Zambia.The Kwacha will tumble and the economy by December will be shambles.The opposition will capitalize on these weakness and an fulfilled promise to nail the PF in a coffin .The PF may even resist to hold election by January but the opposition and the international community will force them to do so.The result as announced by ECZ will be 1472,000 votes HH win.
government dont force the nation to feel sorry for sata.
ITS A MUST HH SHOULD WIN THE PRESIDENTIAL BY-ELECTIONS IN JANUARY 2015. WE HAVE WITNESSED ENOUGH THUGGERY,VIOLENCE,BREAKDOWN OF LAW AND ORDER DURING THE BRIEF PERIOD PF HAVE BEEN IN GOVT,THE COUNTRY NEED CHANGE,WE CANNOT HAVE CADRES DOING THINGS AS THEY WISH.PF AS A PARTY IS FULL OF INDISCIPLINED CHAPS WHO HAVE NO RESPECT OF GOVT PROPERTY AND OFFICES. FOR INSTANCE IT IS ONLY IN PF WHERE MERE CADRES CAN MOBILISE THEMSELVES AND CLOSED A LEGALLY CONSTITUTED OFFICES OF DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS,RATSA,ZICTA AND OTHERS,WITHOUT BEING PUNISHED. RECENTLY CADRES CLOSED ATANGA’S OFFICE WHILE C/BELT MINISTER HAD A NEAR PUNCH-UP SITUATION WITH PF PROV.CHAIRMAN STURDY MWALE. OFFICE OF D/PS IN COPPERBELT WAS ALSO RECENTLY ATTACKED AND CLOSED. HOW DO WE ALLOW SUCH PEOPLE TO CONTINUE RUNNING THIS COUNTRY.
THERE SHU BE NO SYMPATHY VOTE FOR PF. PEOPLE OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY SHUD NOT MAKE ANOTHER MITAKE OF 2011 BY VOTING FOR PF CANDIDATE IN FORTHCOMING PRESIDENTIAL BY-ELECTIONS. LETS PUT TRIBAL INCLINATIONS ASIDE AND VOTE FOR GOOD LEADERSHIP,AND AM CONFIDENT THAT HH CAN RISED ABOVE THESE PETTY AND TRIBAL POLITICS CONSUMING THIS COUNTRY.GIVE HH A CHANCE AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET YOUR VOTES,ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION,LETS STOP TRIBALISM IN THIS COUNTRY
@ joxer….. I agree with you except on one thing – sympathy votes. My friend… there won’t be any sympathy vote here unless you have not been affected by the price of mealie meal, unfair dismissal i.e. nurses. The votes will be “hold on to power”, “let’s get rid of them- we have had enough”………… Power in the ballot. God is great.
Nothing against HH but looking through a political lens, it would be extremely difficult to have a Republican President presiding over country matters without the needed numbers in parliament. Whether its HH, Chipimo or whoever is in opposition, you need to have the numbers in parley for you to be effective. At the moment, PF have the numbers in Parley and the only logical step with an opposition leader as President is to create bye-elections to get the majority in parley or to create alliances with the same PF MPs, which will still lead to bye-elections. The result would cause political and economic mayhem.
@1.4 Wanzelu
Your true points are spot on with falsehood late Sata and his PF govt subjected to Zambians.
Wanzelu, may I request you retrieve that PF governance list of all major posts in Zambia held by mostly Bembas as we approach this presidential by election (apparently PF denied it will never happen since Sata was as fit as a fiddle) so as to refresh our minds and enable Zambians make an informed decision.
@Aquilla
Consider that done. I will embark on highlighting all the reasons why PF should not be allowed to govern Zambia again starting from today on wards.
I will also embark on highlighting why UPND and HH are the only help and hope Zambia needs right now.
@joxer
your are right lets stop tribalism. lets judge people on their merits and demerits on tribal lines that’s is not fair to this country.
All you who doubted Sata’s abilility to transform Zambia, you did so with a forged tongue. You pretended to be blind to many gigantic projects the PF government under the stewardship of the great leader Michael Chilufya Sata embarked on and implemented. I don’t care whether crocodile tears have been shed by his political adversaries over his demise, the truth still stands, majority Zambians gave him wholehearted endorsement in 2011. This is the majority part of the Zambian population who are feeling the pain of loss. Countless testimonies given by individuals in diversity about Sata’s benevolent personality and resolve to make Zambia a better place to live in, confound his erstwhile critics. Now that our great leader has been called to rest, PF the party he founded will remain in power.
Can not wait to put Sata to rest so we can begin the next chapter, this has been a long week,. Sata was a nightmare for Zambia, MISRIP.
