Heritage Party President Godfrey Miyanda is in Mongu district on a campaign visit ahead of the 20th January 2015 Presidential by-election.
Brigadier General Miyanda took time to talk to some Mongu residents yesterday at Mongu main town centre around 18:15hours before proceeding to Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) for a courtesy call.
ZANIS reports that Brig Gen Miyanda said once elected into power his objective was to change the governance system of Zambia which will translate into more money into people’s pockets.
He said more money in people’s pockets literally doesn’t construe giving out money to people but the change of leadership policies that would embrace and allow everyone have a share of the national cake.
The Heritage Party President stressed the need of transform the country from the direction of poverty to that of more a prosperous nation.He urged the people in the province to rally behind him as he was a sole candidate who has the heart for the majority poor Zambians.
He noted that it was high time for things to change as Zambians have been cheated by various politicians who have failed to honor their promises.Brig Gen Miyanda disclosed this in Mongu yesterday in view of the approaching 2015 Presidential by- election necessitated by the death of the incumbent President Michael Chilufya Sata who died on 28th of October 2014 in London.

On a more serious note, Miyanda should just enjoy the donation from the E.U. We know that’s why he there. These organisations will fund you as long as you have a good proposal. 13 million Zambians will be laughing at the General come Jan 20th. Even good ol’wipped up buddy Tilyenji looks like a mammoth politician compared to the General. Somebody offer this man a job please!!! What an embarrassment. I think this man should also wipe his face then re-launch his party. LOL…made my day.

I say why not! Zambians have elected worse candidates before. So now kuiposafye. If a thug can rule what else cannot happen in Zambia. Until the electorate becomes better informed, good candidates will be ridiculed and imbeciles will be glorified but in the end no one can complain as you get the government you vote for!
Seriously, why does the General do this to his wife and especially to his children? He’s an embarrassment to those who love him dearly, I’m sure, every time there’s an election they wish the ground could open wide and swallow them for a while until after the polls. He absolutely got no regard for their feelings. You expect this kind of madness from the likes of Cosmas, Siulapwa and fat Msoni but not ba Miyanda. In 2006 i voted for him, i like the man and would have continued to vote for him but unfortunately he’s lazy and got zilch chances to win even at ward level. So the question is, why does he always put his hand up when he fully knows he’s got no following? It breaks my heart to see him ridicule time and time again for actions he can avoid.
Hmm. My first thought was a tad understated then I compared it to the other campaign and realised he found a blank spot in their narrative. The contentious and very real issue of Barotseland. So… pop in to see the royals – mo’ money in yo’ pockets’ could probably be worded differently. My thoughts – nothing to see yet. Strategic play but the impact is a little muted. Keep growing little parties. Play on.

Maybe we should all just vote for Miyanda! He carries no tribalist tag,his Heritage party has a solid manifesto and he was a lone voice against the evils of the patriotic front government. Somehow I’m a bit skeptical about HH.He is over promising and he has been bruised too many times by Sata this may be his pay back time.

I think the general is a day dreamer. This man has failed even to lead and mobilize his own party due to his arrogance and yet he claims or rather thinks he can lead millions of people. It is either we raise the bar for presidential aspirants or we continue with such kinda people. I would like to see the general sit back and maybe back someone young and vibrant. It is a pity these old folks still think they are a solution to the economic and political problems in Zambia. Please someone remind these folks that it is time to retire and simply criticize as we know some of them are good at. Too much cheap talk!
Miyanda is the only serious candidate in this race, this man will not promise heaven on earth, but he will offer leadership that will inspire many to work, he will inspire people to embrace each other as Zambians.

The fact that none of the bloggers opposing Brig. General Miyanda has come up with credible counter points to oppose what he has to offer speaks volumes. Heritage party is the only party offering the next big step. UNIP brought independence that was one big step. MMD brought multiparty democracy, that was another big step. Heritage Party offers to bring the next logical big step forward i.e. seamless development between our urban and rural areas. Voters are free to choose to either take the next big step, or remain at the current stage of mare maintenance politics.
