Confusion continues to dog the process of choosing a candidate for PF as Acting President Guy Scott temporarily suspended the accreditation process for the PF General Conference to be held in Kabwe tomorrow.
Dr Scott in a statement issued this afternoon said that all credentials that have been already issued from any of the registration centres have been declared null and void,and will not be used for entrance into Mulungushi Rock of Authority area in Kabwe.
Dr Scott said that the measure has been necessitated following the illegal takeover of the registration centre at Mulungushi International Conference Centre by unknown persons, and the destruction of the official registers validated and issued by the PF Secretariate at registration centres in Lusaka,Kabwe and Kapiri Mposhi.
Dr Scott stated that the registration process will resume at 08:00 hours at Mulungushi Rock of Authority tomorrow, 29th November 2014.
The acting President said that legitimate delegates should proceed to Kabwe.
Dr Scott adds that the general conference will be opened only after a legitimate and proper registration process has been completed, stating that there will be no shortcuts.
However the members of the cental committee have issued the statement below to the media

Today is a sad day, as it marks exactly one month since our beloved president, His Excellency, President Michael Chilufya Sata, passed on.
Let us stand and offer a moment of silence in respect for our late President.
As you are aware, the Acting President Dr. Guy Scott called for a General Conference to be held in Kabwe on 29th November 2014.
The Central Committee agreed to hold the General Conference.
As we speak all logistics are in place and our delegates are travelling to Mulungushi Rock of Authority
Earlier, accreditation process began in earnest and we are surprised that instructions have been issued to cancel the process.
This is strange because this accreditation is being done using the register issued by the Acting Secretary General, Bridget Attanga and the accreditation process by a body appointed by the Acting President.
As members of the Central Committee and Members of Parliament, we have agreed that the General Conference will proceed as scheduled and all concerns regarding accreditation of delegates will be resolved at the Conference.
Any further issuance of accreditation in Lusaka will be deemed as null and void.
We have been investigating allegations of parallel registration and accreditation. We have also been investigating allegations of certain centers only opened to delegates of a certain camp.
We hope that these allegations will be resolved at Mulungushi in Kabwe.
Our warning to the detractors is that the PF Family, is one and is determined to elect a candidate of its choice and commence national campaigns.
The enemies of the party have resorted to scare tactics, tactics of intimidation and instilling fear in our delegates. These activities are designed to discourage our delegates.
Please be informed that the PF family is a peaceful group and we will go to Mulungushi in Kabwe.
But we wish to assure our delegates that we are determined to hold a successful and peaceful conference.
Our members have taken time from their families, and from their work to come to Mulungushi, it is important that the Conference is conducted in a peaceful environment.
Attempts to tamper with the register will not succeed. We are steadfast that a fair, transparent process will be carried out to elect the party’s residential candidate.
We have a duty to carry the vision of President Michael Sata, and to hold our party together. Enemies of the party will be exposed and removed.
We therefore appeal to all our members to remain calm and peaceful and wish you a safe journey to Kabwe.
We wish you a peaceful and happy conference.

I don’t support some of the reactions of the MCC and MPs, however, remember that when you oppress people they tend to react. People tend to fight for their rights. I cant make out the meaning of this statement. Does it mean members will proceed without being accredited? Won’t it be time-wasting to accredit delegates at the conference itself? The way things look it might not be possible to hold this convention in peace. Each group suspects the other and it is this that will breed violence. There is no trust between the two camps (Guy Scott and the Central Committee). I can envisage a lot of sparks and eruptions into violence that might engulf the whole country. We must warn these PF chaps that Zambia is bigger than all of them so they should not behave as though they own the country. Besides, whatever candidate they elect at their convention will find it very difficult to win the elections. People are resolved to removing the arrogant PF.
