THE Muhabi Lungu led MMD faction has permanently stationed some youths at its secretariat to provide security following the hounding out of national secretary Muhabi Lungu last week.

Mr Lungu said in an interview yesterday that the party would not allow hired thugs to destabilize operations at the party secretariat.

So far the secretariat was functioning fully and to shut it down using thugs would not be acceptable.

“I have sent official card carrying MMD members to protect the secretariat,” Mr Lungu said.

It was sad for the party to start protecting the secretariat from people who were sent by the party President.

The issue on security at the MMD secretariat had since been reported to the police.

Mr Lungu was the chief executive of the MMD who should be allowed to operate at the secretariat.

But last week Dr Mumba said he had directed for the closure of the MMD secretariat in the period when the party was facing challenges.

Mr Lungu however maintained that Dr Mumba had no powers under the MMD Constitution to lock out anyone from the secretariat.

The MMD president has no executive authority to shut down the secretariat and that can only be done by the national secretary and the national executive committee.

The presidential campaigns would proceed and former President Rupiah Banda was contesting the election on behalf of the MMD.

Last week eight unruly youths, believed to be from the Copperbelt, hounded out party national secretary Muhabi Lungu from the party secretariat.

The youths also broke into the secretariat and got away with an assortment of things valued at thousands of Kwacha.

But Dr Mumba in response to the hounding of Mr Lungu said “I had given directives that that the offices be closed so l don’t expect anybody to be manhandled there. I am giving the same directive again. Let us hold on until our challenges are resolved in the mean time, keep the secretariat closed,” .

He reiterated the calls to keep the MMD secretariat closed until the challenges affecting the party were resolved.

    • Ba Nevers kuwaya wayafye. Everything its i did this, i ordered that, i want this blah blah blah. The spirit of self dominance on institutions reveals one’s lack of leadership. No wander he has failed in the opportunity of building his Victory Ministries, Zambia Shall be Saved, own party NCC and now MMD. Sata and the people of Chinsali were very right to out-rightly reject him in 2006. Politically he has no mojo. He is just a good chatterbox of loud noise period.

  1. Muhibi Lungu, recall that you have always been on the losing side from the time you started politics and this time around there is nothing different. You are just practicing local politics of the east. Too bad for RB as he is blinded by the false hope of wining the fourth coming by-elections.

  2. PASTOR NEVERS MUMBA IN AS MUCH AS YOU ARE AGGRIEVED BY BETRAYAL BY SOME OF MMD SENIOR MEMBERS YOU WERE AT ONCE CLOSE WITH; THE USE OF THUGS IS VERY UNCHRISTIAN AND AS A MAN OF GOD, YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO REFRAIN FROM USING THUGS. INSTEAD JUST LIKE DANIEL AND OTHER PROPHETS IN THE BIBLE WHEN AGGRIEVED RESORTED TO PRAYERS AND FASTING.

REMEMBER WORLDLY THINGS ARE TOO TEMPORAL, HEAVEN SHOULD BE OUR FOUCUS.

    • @John1, I have to respond to your posts on no.s 4, 5,6,7,8,9 & 10. Not that your comments are anything to talk home about, but simply irritating.

Foolishly you’ve created a conversation in your head with imaginary bloggers Paulo, Jessy,Peter,Chile,Abi,Lazaro who appear to justify this obstinate RB’s illegitimate attempt for another shot the presidency.

You forgot to spot that All this was done within a minute of each other or slightly more same machine and location. May be you’re Henry Banda blogging from exile, who knows!

You’re as dull as Muhabi Lungu’s conclave of the Kumawas forcing a sell of stale, damaged, old and expired goods that no one wants buy.And they call themselves RB advisors. Wrong footing mates, not this time.

  3. Zambians need to note that this is just a by election and the president from this election will be facing another election in less than 2 years. A transitional president like RB is the best the country can have. Otherwise people will be fatigued with elections and 2016 will register massive apathy

  4. I Agree with you Jessy. Also, Zambia could waste a whole 2 years in political campaigns at the expense of development. Think twice

  5. We can debate about politics all day long here – and no doubt the online cadres will come in and start insulting our former president.

But really this election is about a simple question:

Are you doing better today than you were in 2011? Is mealie meal cheaper today than it was in 2011? Are there any more jobs or any more money in pocket since 2011?

  6. I applaud RB’s comeback, but I can understand why some people are scared – he actually presents a real threat to win the election.

we were truly better off with RB in Power

  7. Don’t be cheated Nyama Soya is not a factor in Zambian Politics anymore. If he is, why was he rejected by the Zambian People in 2011? He failed to win an election when he had the state machinery at his disposal. Additionally, he will be an ease target by the other contesters. His court cases, his thieving children, source of the 5 billion which was in the Mpundu trust Account, the Mongu killings, the Dollar Siliya Saga, Wife being on Government when she was no longer a Government employee. The list is endless. Only a f000l would vote for old greedy man.

  8. I have heard about inheriting bad genes….but inheriting a bad name????

This Lungu name is now synonymous with thuggery.

People please vote wisely. Wake up now.

    Class above trash.

    Ta.

  9. Four factions! Two in mmd plus two in pf. One in mmd can be termed as oldtimer mmd led by Old man RB , the other one is energetic mmd or pastor Mumba faction. In pf someone gave the following, Matero faction or skirt faction led by M Sampa, whereas the other one is Chawama or kachasu faction led by E L.
