Winston Kalengo voted Zesco player of the year

Forward Winston Kalengo was on Friday night crowned Zesco United player of the year during the club’s end of year gala in Ndola.

Kalengo was instrumental as Zesco bagged the FAZ Super League title and the 2014 Barclays Cup in the ended season.

Striker Jackson Mwanza scooped the top scorer and Players player awards.

Mwanza scored 16 goals in all competitions and was the 2014 Super League top scorer with 15 goals.

The Most Disciplined Player award went to youngster Chishimba Changala while midfielder Justin Zulu was named most consistent player at Zesco.

Talented and creative midfielder Clatous Chama received the award for the most improved player.

  1. Am yet to understand why he is not a regular call up for National duty. Only saw one recent call up, I think was international friendly,Zambia/Sudan. Does anybody know why?

I believe is a good player,but not every one can accorded an opportunity to play at National Level,after all is only the best 11.so dont worry about him his time will definitely come .As you can see even the very best player like chisamba Lungu sits on the bench due to Janza formula,however this Kalengo is better placed than Emmanuel Makula ……………(mayuka)
