PRESIDENT Lungu will be the Patriotic Front (PF) presidential candidate in the 2016 elections and members should direct their efforts on strengthening the ruling party’s membership, says PF chairperson for elections Emmanuel Musonda.

Mr Musonda says the party is now taking root in areas perceived to be opposition strongholds.

In an interview during the week, Mr Musonda said all lower organs of the ruling party have been directed to hold elections and conclude the exercise by the end of June 2015.

“We are strengthening the party through holding of elections and everyone will be subjected to elections. All sections, wards, constituencies and districts must hold elections by June this year, and then we shall have provincial conferences that will culminate in the general conference next year.

“We are not going to hold Presidential elections at the conference since President Lungu was given a five- year mandate but all central committee positions will be subjected to elections except the Vice-Presidency, which is a prerogative of the President to appoint someone,” he said.

He urged aspiring candidates wishing to be adopted as Members of Parliament to wait for the right time.

“They should not confuse the structures by starting campaigns to challenge incumbent MPs, the right time will come when the adoption process will be opened, For now, let the MPs fulfil their mandate,” Mr Musonda said.

He said the PF was now being rebranded to ensure victories in any election that would be held.

“We are taking root in areas that were difficult; it is gratifying to record victories in areas that were UPND and ADD strongholds in Western Province. We are also happy that the partnership with MMD is working well, ” Mr Musonda said.

The ruling party recently scooped the Masaiti and Senga Hill seats, which were previously held by the MMD. The PF also defended the Chawama seat and also won five out of nine ward seats that were previously held by opposition parties.

You failed when Sata died…and that was the closest u ever came…forget. Even if el was to die today am willing to bet my last dollar, u won’t win due to the sadistic style of your politics. • Yes it is so so so sad that Zambia will continue to be raped by thugs, and all kind of thieves who have regrouped at state house.
It is like a widow who always get forced marriages in the name of “cleansing” or ukupyanika and end with the worst in the original husband’s family.

    • It is okay after all most Zambian voters have empty heads, that is why the could vote for no better constitutions, bloated cabinet, wage/job freeze and less money in their pockets.

    • Wynter is a better man- than this ‘ill’ person controlled by RB and no spine whatsoever

Be prepared and remember who told you this first

Seventh Zambian President- Wynter M Kabimba

      Thanks
      BB2014

    • HH will not even get 18% votes. Time has changed. The joint forces of MMD and PF (United Movement) will crush the tribalist under 5 forever. He will be aborted from the womb of Maureen Mwanawasa.

  1. Let Lungu be subject to proper elections. The previous one were people were raising hands to vote was a shame. Let him not manipulate his way to the top again. Let him be challenged. Kambwili, Lubinda, Simusa, Sata, Sampa, Black Widow are all waiting for their chance.

  2. What a direct insult to many PF Members and Zambians. Does it mean that we have no people in Zambia or PF for us to go for a sick, dying and visionless president. I vow to give any one K1000 000 if Edgar Lungu will not die if 2016. AIDS is not a disease to play with.

Edigar Lungu wants to make a name of dying while in officw so that he can have a full time state funeral. What a shame.

  3. I am happy that the Sangoma Lungu is standing on PF ticket in 2016. This is good news as it will make him lose elections in a good manner just like what happened to Rupiah Banda in 2011.
In Edgar Lungu’s case he will not cry after losing but will rather vomit all the beer he has been drinking for the past 40 years and then die.HH is the new president of Zambia.

    • Mune, I can see you blog here also. Tumfweko has been down today and the new articles have been deleted. it seems that PF owned website is as useless as its owners. I am now considering relocating the campaign to here. I hope these chaps are ready for the official UPND to blog here. Good morning

    • @Evergreen and Hildah Mabushi, keep hallucinating. May be you will come up with a religion of fanatics on the lines of womanising warlord getting into his cave for a sleep and coming out hallucinating of gins, angels and the crap of prophecy.

  4. Listen you lost sheep’s from me Hakainde Hakalusa again.
Am used to lose so another one in 2016 to make it incredibly 5 to 0 changes nothing because am used to lose. It money and my money only that make upnd president and a huge magnet to my management team. To EAT my money is the way forward for them. Not to provide alternative leader to me or ruling party but to eat my money and to be seen to criticize even when I know myself that we are ridiculous with our utterances. But am punishing them as no one will talk about me retiring even if I lose next year, Where is Garry. He said he leave if we lost 2016 elections. Where is he. Ask how much he has borrowed from my wife. That is why he cannot leave. Some are even offering me their wives just to keep quieten me about debts they owe me u5

  5. Of course Edgar “Lazy” Lungu will be the Presidential candidate for PF in 2016 as he is a visionless coward hand picked by corrupt entities to keep them rich at the expense of poor tax payers….the lazy bum has been power for 90 days and has not held a press conference or held a televised interview (only on some foreign channel in RSA). The lazy man has not given the people who voted for him a clear roadmap or his stance on corruption, the constitution, press freedom or most importantly the economy.

  7. PF, do not forcifully impose a candidate to the people. Let party nominations be done democratically to build trust. Lungu’s democratic nomination will strengthen the party. Those predicting his death should be wary of their lives first as they may provoke their own premature deaths unawares. What assuarance do they have of themselves living past Lungu’s lifetime? Lets at times be responsible for some of our reckless utterances. Why impose candidates of your choice by wishing others disasters? Are they not qualified enough for a one on one fair competition? The right candidate can win without necessarily wishing others calamities.

  8. The selection or endorsement of any leader does not have an impact. What matters is how people will gauge the performance of the PF as a whole in terms of what impact the government has had on their standard of living. It does not take a genius to realise that the PF has failed on many fronts. We in the UPND note that since lungu’s election, we have seen a dramatic depreciation of our currency in relation to others. We have witnessed a clueless mining regime with constant changes that leave no confidence for investment. We have seen lungu issuing out threats to his own citizens and the opposition. We saw lungu directing the police on our president mr HH. Surely, zambians is this how cheapened the presidency has become? Please we ask you to vote wisely in 2016 and vote UPND

  9. Being a candidate is not winning an election. 2016 is for Mutembo Nchito to be president of Zambia. Watch out.

  10. Come 2016 oh please come soon. The next election will be a defining moment for Zambia. The PF will be judged on its performance and not the caliber of its candidate. If the current trend on the social, justice and economic fronts are anything to go by it won’t matter who the candidates are PF will have a hard time convincing anyone to give them a new mandate. We are allowing ourselves to turn into a nation of elections that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Election campaigns have their time. Now is not that time. Our leaders regardless of political persuasion should now be working together and inspire the citizenry so everyone can contribute towards making life better for all of us. Lest we forget regardless of who is in plot one we are and should always be ONE ZAMBIA ONE…

  11. Attention to health should be a valid concern to Edgar Lungu and must not compete. Look at what happened to Sata, he was ill yet they hide that from the citizens until he came back in a coffin. Every candidate this time should go through a series of testing and not through their doctors but an independent panel of medical experts to check for an illnesses or health standards to evaluate medical qualification. The stress of presidency alone is sufficient to illnesses and the reason it is a “must” to have someone who is healthy. If indeed the president has a chronic illness he should exam whether he’s making the right choice to run. He collapsed once and many more episodes to come. This is just the beginning of citizens wanting to know if he has HIV, their right to chose a healthy…

  12. People vote for government in power in by elections. The Senga hill and Masaiti were MMD stronghold and the MPs who stood were MMD on PF ticket AND SO pf CAN NOT think they are gaining in opposition stronghold.

  13. do upnd supporters have any analytical skills? starting from their leader to the lowest Cadre, no one seems to see reality. they keep dreaming about HH owning zambeef, manda hill and east mall, even when they know the true owners. nibangwele

  14. That is my president. My family and i have started sensitising all our tribesmen on how to vote since we were taught by southern province.Come 2016,ECL it’s KOLOPA.

  15. RB is returning in full force. Inonge Wina should have plan B because she is just care taking in order to appease a few people. PF members are bitter with her appointment.

  16. ICHI KWANKA BACHIMWENA UMAMPALANYA.WHAT HAPPENED ON 8TH MARCH 2015 AT WOMEN CELEBRATION IS ENOUGH TO ANY RIGHT THINKING PERSON TO LOOK ELSE WHERE IN 2016.
