Dr. Sondashi advised not to form party

Share

ANTI-VOTER Apathy Project Director Bonnie Tembo has implored Dr. Ludwig Sondashi not consider forming another political parties.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kasama today Mr. Tembo said there too many political parties which are not working for the improvement of people’s living standards in the nation.

He stated going to consult the people who are already flooded with too many political parties is unfair and costly for the nation.

He advised Dr. Sondashi to go to any progressive Political party already in place so as to add value to Zambian political parties than a duplication of parties.

The AVAP Executive Director also advised Political Parties to join other existing and viable Political parties in order to reduce the number of parties which are in place.

Mr. Tembo further advised Political Parties to form conflict resolution mechanisms to avoid unnecessary by-elections which are an expense and drain on the national economy.

Former Works and Supply Minister last week resigned from the ruling MMD party citing among other reasons corruption in the party and undemocratic tendencies prevailing in the party.

Dr. Sondashi had also announced his intention to undertake a country wide consultation on the formation of a new party.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tembo reiterated his call on Government to simplify the guideline of the Citizens Empowerment Funds (CEEF) for the ordinary Zambian to access the funds.

He observed that very few people have been able to access the funds because of the conditions and guide lines that are in favour of the few elite in society.

Mr. Tembo stated that there are no coordinators in districts to help and undertake the processing of forms which he said was a hindrance.

    • Even if he formed another party he will never rule Zambia or win anything at all,he will just split the votes..Thats why martworld has said no, i also say no.Ma rubbish Sondashi i can’t imagine having witch doctor for president..

    • why are you putting words in matworlds mouth? the constitution of Zambia does not restrict anybody from forming a political party. Votes are always split anyway>

  1. Let the man do what he thinks is best for him. Why are we so good at making decisions for others? If he fails, you will still have a chance to criticise him.

    • Exactly Nine Chale, every man has the right to decide his own destiny!! Let the man eat, act and go where he wants to go. Let him even form a political party if he wants. The people will decide in the end. The ballot will speak. The man also wants a piece of the 2011 Cake.

  2. Ba mdala, even when you have the right to form your own party, you may not achieve much. Muzacita monga za bena Chama Chakomboka (MHSRIP), kubwelesa drama manje. You will do well to boost one of the already existing parties.

  3. what value will you add when you are aready a clown in zambian pollitics.some people are not ashamed of overating themselves

  4. Last kicks of dying horse in politics. The old man’s time has finally come to hang up the boots and concentrate on farming to combart the food shortages being experienced by our nation and the world over.Shikulu chiteniko fimbi twapapata!

  5. In my opinion, which iam entitled to, I believe three political parties for a country like zambia is enough and currently the only political parties I would think deserve to exist are the MMD, UPND and PF.

The rest of the parties are just mare confusion.

  6. Well, as much as he has the right to form a political party as he wishes, it would be really better for him to join an already existing party. Besides the man has no charisma and will just end up like chakomboka. We have potential parties already which are even willing to work with other political parties and it may be a good idea to for Dr. Sondashi to just join one of them. Not every can a be a president and to effectively contribute national development one does not necessarily need to be a president anyway!

  7. Yes let not ba Mwisho Sondashi form a part coz he is already old and looking at him he doesnt have a an agenda or vision for Zambia i cant just sport him because he is my relative ine mwane let him join Miyanda……..

  8. Whilst un deniably he has the right to form a political party, but i think Ludwig is overating himself far too much. He cannot command a national following, his political life has been riddled with problems & contraversies i.e. Fired by LPM, K.K castigated him as a traitor, campaigned for NyamaSoya viciously and now resigned from MMD, has difffered with Teta, forming a political party, Aids cure claim etc. His ambition is to lead not to be lead which is dangerous for him at the moment.Labelled a tribalist in some quarters eeh list endless.

  9. HE WHO DARES WINS!!!!

I wonder if this old adage applies to Dr Sawdust. But it is always good to exercise your right, as some one said before: Every man’s got a right to decide his own destiny, and in this judgement there is no partiality. So, Dr Sawdust, arm in arms with votes this time and fight this little struggle. Its your right to even test you popularity. Thing is the MMD and UPND Vote from N/W is now completely split. Sad though.

  10. Let the man do what he wants.Zambia is a free state and anyone is free to do whatever they want to do.You diasporans are full of critism when you cant even come up with tangable solutions. Why dont you form(MFD)MOVEMENT FOR DIASPORANS PARTY.

  11. SOME OF THE POLITICAL RIGHTS OF AN INDIVIDUAL ARE TO JOIN A POLITICAL PARTY, TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTIVITIES OF HIS/HER POLITICAL PARTY, TO LEAVE A POLITICAL PARTY AND TO FORM A POLITICAL PARTY. SONDASHI HAS EXERCISED ALL THE RIGHTS ABOVE EXCEPT THE RIGHT TO FORM A POLITICAL PARTY. BONNIE TEMBO SHOULD DESIST FROM BEINGA CHATTERBOX AND ALLOW SONDASHI TO FORM HIS PARTY. HE DOES NOT EXPECT ANY ONE TO JOIN HIM. I PROPOSE THAT HIS PARTY BE CALLED THE SONDASHI PARTY OF POLITICAL CONFUSION AND MIRACULOUS HEALING

  12. this party mr sondashi want to form wil just be like national democratic forcus led by ben mwila..it wil just be a one man party membership, and then the president himself will contest for a parliamentary seat instead of the presidential one, hahaha, too much jokes with zambian politics, awe ni zee!gud luck ba mudala.

  13. Mr. Tembo is right, no need to form another party. Remember that MMD comprises of ULP, UNIP, FDD, All People’s Congress, Cosmo Mumba, Humprey Siulapwa and other under five parties if you go by last year’s election & even to date. Ba Sondashi you and your relatives from N. West. Province (like Teta) thought you were stars but now you are being taught a lesson. MMD wont allow any of you people from Western, N. Western & Southern to be its president in the near future. Unless you people from these 3 Provinces secede to form you own country maybe you can have your MMD there & one of you can be an MMD president. Sad for you people who are turned into cheap supporters for other regions

  14. #15 Regina Chiluba don’t encourage this man to team up with The Post because this newspaper has become a regular biddder in government tenders (mostly of a nature unrelated to the print media), so they’ll keep insulting and accusing government and their winning competitors each time they lose a tender. Politicians must humble themselves and respect the people they serve, but this spirit is totally opposite to spirit in which The Post is now conducting its business.
