Kalulushi stay top in Division One Nort

Kalulushi Modern Stars stayed top in Division One North after thumping visiting Indeni 2-0 at Independence Stadium on Sunday.

Forward Peckings “Dada” Chinyimba grabbed a brace as Kalulushi increased their tally to 20 points after Week 10 games played at the weekend.

Chinyimba scored a goal in each half to propel Kalulushi to their second straight victory.

Lumwana Radiants remained second on the table after getting a 1-0 win away at bottom placed Konkola Mine Police in Chililabombwe.

Lumwana have 19 points but Mine Police remained stuck at the bottom with two points from 10 games

Elsewhere in the northen region, creative midfielder Victor Kashitu scored the lone goal when Roan United beat Zesco Luapula 1-0 at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya.

This was the first game in charge for interim Roan coach Hillary Makasa as the third placed Luanshya side moved to 18 points.

At Garden Park Stadium, Kitwe United thumped star-studded Copperbelt Buffaloes (formerly Kalewa) 2-0 to jump from 8th into 4th position on the table.

Second half goals from Lupert Musonda and Isaac “Mozegeter” Lungu rendered the presence of Brian Chilando, Simeo Lubemba, Maybin Ngosa, Boston Mwanza and Sekelani Mwale in the Buffaloes squad useless.

Kitwe are now on 17 points after recording their fourth consective win.
