The Zambian Voice has welcomed the charging and arresting of former Tourism and Arts Minister Sylvia Masebo for the offense of Abuse of Authority of Office.
Executive Director Chilufya Tayali has recalled that the charge upon which Ms. Masebo has been arrested that of cancelling Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) hunting concession licenses was well discussed by a tribunal that was established to investigate her alleged wrong doing.
Mr. Tayali, who had keenly followed the proceedings of the Tribunal chaired by Judge Roydah Kaoma, says it was clear from the evidence adduced before the Tribunal that Ms. Masebo did not follow the right procedure with respect to the operations of ZAWA.
He says his organization is of the view that the former Tourism and Arts Minister must therefore be answerable for her wrong doing.
Mr. Tayali says the Zambia Voice also thinks that the arrest of Ms. Masebo should send a message to leaders that they must not run government as if it is their personal business.
He says his organization is conversant with the fact that government has procedures that must be followed by all public workers.

What happened to his membership of the cartel? If he has abandoned the cartel then he is heartily most welcome to the society of good non-evil people.
This arrest is not political remember the William Harrington tribunal findings this girl was found wanting let her answer and the she fired people in a bad way.

She abused her office but look who replaced her. A failed nurse now turned minister. Honestly at this point you have no clue as to whom to blame for the mess we are in. Kapata had it for Masebo and doing the opposite of what she did to try to look good. The biggest mistake made was lifting the ban on Trophy Hunting. This will come to haunt Zambia because the animals supporting tourism meaning the Big 5 is what she is auctioning off to the highest bidder. Just go on hunting sites and see how happy these guys are and ready to come finish our wildlife. She has no clue as to what she is doing and basically told what to read and following orders. Hunters kill 3-6 year old lions not old lions as she said. Deplete your resources then what? Both she and rapist Tayali need to really zip it up!

The problem is, when she was in the system she was found with no case, but now since she is not in good books the case has been resurrected. This is what makes it political.

It is stupid to arrest people when they are no longer in good standing of the ruling party. If we have to fight corruption action shoul be taken when it happens regardless of the status of the culprit.
